Redemption Posts "The Art Of Loss" Video
On February 26th, Los Angeles prog-metal outfit Redemption will release sixth full-length, "The Art of Loss," via Metal Blade Records worldwide.
In anticipation of its release, the band has launched a video for the album's title track online (featuring guest guitarist Chris Poland). Directed by Brian Cox / Flarelight Films, "The Art of Loss" video can be viewed below.
Director Brian Cox comments: "It's very easy to dwell on the past. To stew in pain, wishing you could get someone or something back that you may have lost. But in the end, you will always have yourself, no matter how much things might change. Nobody can ever take that from you and that's the message I tried to convey with this video."
Redemption's Nick van Dyk (guitars/keyboards) adds: "We're very excited to have worked with Brian to bring this song to life in this medium. The story of regret, survival, transcendence and the realization that we have the ability to be authors of our own destiny is brought home with the visuals that Brian has directed. Needless to say, it's also surreal to perform with the great Chris Poland. This video is a great representation of what Redemption stands for, musically and thematically."

This song deals with victim blaming and how the victims of sexual assault are often criticized and blamed for putting themselves in the vulnerable position, which allowed them to be abused or exploited. This is wrong, we should not be blaming or scrutinizing the victims of abuse. We need to remove the stigma and put the blame where it rightly belongs - on the abuser."

"As part of the highest tier rewards, the backer was allowed to request any song for us to cover and we would arrange and record the track as our own interpretation. We thought it would be interesting to create a version of "Ring of Fire" that is as contrasting from the original as could be while still maintaining the iconic melodies that everyone has come to know." Subterranean Masquerade Recording Album
The follow-up to last year's stellar "The Great Bazaar" (reviewed here) is about to be officially tracked! Subterranean Masquerade just issued this message online to fan:
"We are excited to let you guys know that in a few days we enter the studio to record our 3rd and new full-length album. We don't want to reveal the title just yet but we can say that this album is taking everything you enjoy from Subterranean Masquerade up a notch. It's heavy, complex, rich and full with so much information, it will be a shame to even try to categorize it. We will keep you updated and post photos from the studio from time to time. We are also working on a European tour prior our show at the ProgPower festival in September - so stay tuned for live dates as well.
Wish us luck!"
Guitarist and songwriter Tomer Pink comments: “After a year of the tunes playing in my head, a challenging journey to India, months of band rehearsals and lots of editing and rearranging, this is finally happening and I couldn't be more thrilled with the outcome. This album is so schizophrenic sometimes I wonder if the tunes are playing with me or the other way around."
"Writing and arranging this new album was a completely different experience than the one I had with 'The Great Bazaar',” says keyboardist Shai Yallin. “With the Bazaar, we had written the album not as a band but rather as individual players; I actually only met Tomer and the guys after the album was recorded, for a PR photography session we held after Kjetil’s vocal sessions. This time around, we’re a real band. My parts have evolved during rehearsals and practice sessions. Some parts were written for me by other players, while I wrote more string parts than in the previous album and even adding some brass and accordion parts. Add to that Tomer’s insistence that we do not repeat ourselves and you get some really interesting combinations of timbres and instruments."
Entombed A.D. Posts "The Winner Has Lost" Video
The deadly dawn of a new Entombed A.D. chapter will be opened on February 26th, 2016 with a new album full of death and rock and roll. The band also now launches a video for "The Winner Has Lost" - check it out below.
Entombed A.D. comments on the video: "We were about to brew a collaboration beer with Warpigs in Copenhagen. An Imperial Stout that is a mix of Mikkellers 'Beer Geek Breakfast' and 3 Floyds 'Dark Lord.' It will basically taste like we sound.Very heavy stuff.
"We were looking forward to a day of brewing beer, drinking beer and eating bbq. Then we were told that we need a new video asap. So we got a great idea and perfect solution: let's just film us brewing, drinking and eating and spending the whole budget on that! And so we did. Best day at work ever." More...
