Buffalo Theory MTL Releases New Video

Buffalo Theory MTL today releases new single and music video "Conspiracy in Paranoland," taken from the "Skeptic Knight" album set for release via Stand Productions on February 26th. Bassist Gary Lyons comments:

"'Conspiracy in Paranoland' – the particularity about this song is that it was written at the time of our demo CD in 2010. It was recorded then, but we didn’t have time to record the vocals. Therefore, we’ve been playing it live once in a while for the last 5 years (it was also part of the set list on our 1st show) and finally got to record a proper version of it! 'Conspiracy in Paranoland' is a 100% pure “vintage BTMTL”!"

Cult Of Luna Releasing "Mariner"

With mind-melting eighth album "Mariner," Cult Of Luna and Julie Christmas bring you to the outer rim of the ever expanding boundaries of the cosmos - where the rules of man are not applicable and the cold, dark nothing envelops the harsh realities of the universe. Cult Of Luna comments:

"At the end of Vertikal, we stood in the cold harshness of the mechanical city and looked up onto the stars. We lost ourselves in the awe of their grace and thought that maybe the answer is to be found above. The ship was leaking and by the look of it, our home was dying. No room for fear when a greater call demands your full attention. So, we left... Onward, forward. Like the old seafarers, we explored the vastness of space. Not bound by physical laws we pass the speed of light and chase the expansion of space until we reach its limit. And then, we continued on and disappeared. This is our story."

New album "Mariner" will be released on April 8th via Indie Recordings. Drums and bass were recorded by Magnus Lindberg at Tonteknik Recording Umeå, Sweden with additional recordings by Kristian Karlsson at Studio Hufvudstaden in Söderköping, Sweden.

Julie Christmas' vocals were produced and engineered by Andrew Schneider at Translator Audio and Loho Studios in New York City, with the entire five-track gem mixed and mastered by Magnus Lindberg at Redmount Studios in Stockholm, Sweden. The opening track is available below, and the album's full track listing is as follows:

1. A Greater Call

Vektor Releasing "Terminal Redux"

After nearly 5 long years, Philadelphia-based progressive sci-fi metallers Vektor are back with their third studio album entitled, "Terminal Redux." both embracing and expanding upon the intricate layers of the preceding albums, "Black Future" and "Outer Isolation."

"Terminal Redux" is the group's first concept album, telling the story of a test subject and his rise to power within the all-controlling Cygnus Regime. His ultimate goal is to restore balance within the galaxy by controlling the ebb and flow of life and death. After regaining his position as a top-ranking general, he incites a coup within Cygnus and takes command of their forces. However, as time passes, it becomes clear to him that power is just an illusion.

Pre-orders for the album are up now here and vocalist / guitarist David DiSanto explains in his own words:

"We wanted to come out of the gates full force and showcase a song that represented the album accurately. 'Terminal Redux' covers a lot of ground, so it wasn't an easy decision. In my opinion, this song is right in the middle of the pendulum swing between the ultra-heavy thrash and the more proggy/experimental elements of the album. It's only the tip of the iceberg! Since this is a concept album, each song is a different chapter in the story. As the fifth track, 'Ultimate Artificer' introduces a pivotal point within the story without giving away the beginning or the end." More...

Éohum Announces New EP

Montreal, QC based Éohum (pronounced ee-o-um) formed in 2010 as a traditionalist cultural band produced from the mind of guitarist Jeremy Perkins to create a relentless, anthemic groove-tinged black metal to emphasize a message clearly depicting people's lack of interest in the past relationship we held with nature and our ancestral ways.

Unleashing debut “Revelations, Aurora Of An Epoch” in 2015, Éohum returns in 2016 with latest offering "Ealdfaeder" set for release on March 18th. The EP was recorded at Chris Donaldson’s (Cryptopsy) “The Grid” with a special guest recording from drummer Simon Mackay of The Agonist on tracks 2-4-5.

This mini album also features a line up with band founder Perkins on guitar along with the return of Annie Perreault on French horn/flute, guitarist Sylvain Dumont, vocalist Barrie Butler, plus new comers bassist Cesar Franco and drummer Luca Belviso.

Check out first single "The Apathetic Plague" below. Band founder and guitarist Jeremy Perkins comments: "'The Apathetic Plague' is the track I am most proud of, the arrangement and overall producing came out strong and clearly depicts Éohum sound as a whole with our full lineup and new skin!

"The message projected in this song lyrically reveals our main message and thematic in this EP; being the loss of interest and connection between human cultures and the environment they are from in our greed filled, corrupt world of today. Apathy runs deep replacing our roots and ancestral symbiotic ways!" More...

Megascavenger Announces "As Dystopia Beckons" LP

Megascavenger is known for having big names guesting on albums and the latest one is no exception. The new album "As Dystopia Beckons" will be issued via Selfmadegod Records on March 1st.

The album will again feature a star-studded line up featuring band members of Hail of Bullets, ex-Massacre, ex-Mantas, ex-Benediction, ex-Bolt Thrower, Echelon, Fleshcrawl, Entrails, Sinister, Crypticus and others, all of whom play an important role in forming the sound of the band. Unlike ever before, Rogga Johansson, who is helming this project with authority and confidence, uses industrial sounds bring a futuristic, bold image which few bands dare to go for. While most stick to the tried-and-tested sound of bands like Cannibal Corpse or Suffocation these days, Rogga here is able to successfully meld the powerful and mighty death metal sound with the futuristic industrial touches reminiscent of bands like Fear Factory, The Berzerker, Godflesh and even Strapping Young Lad. The result is jaw-dropping old school death metal metamorphosed into something that retains the right elements while taking a huge step forward - this could very well mean a quantum leap for the whole state of death metal, and will definitely go down in history as a very important and significant release.

The lineup and track list is as follows:

1. Rotting Domain (Feat. Sven Gross of Fleshcrawl)
2. The Machine That Turns Humans Into Slop (Feat. David Ingram of Hail of Bullets, Echelon, ex-Benediction, ex-Bolt Thrower)
3. Dead City (Feat. Jocke Svensson of Entrails)

Guitarist Miki Kalske commented on the video: "The 'Wake Up' music video is a pretty straight forward, epileptic, at-your-face band video which goes along well with the message and feeling of the song. The video was filmed on a theatre type stage, set up to a gloomy atmosphere illuminated by a net of LED lights on the background, which makes our high-energy pouncing around look almost ghostlike. The whole process was a lot of fun, plus it serves as an intensive cardio workout to jump around on stage like a maniac for a whole working day."

Vocalist Hannes Kett added: "As the song title suggests, we want everyone to wake up and find the courage to read between the lines, to open our eyes to everything happening behind the scenes, to see that life is not all sunshine & rainbows. If we choose to be blind to all the mistakes we've made, we'll never learn and find ourselves living in a world filled with hatred, lies & confusion. We're all part of the cycle of life, for better or for worse; the hands of time will have us all eventually. Let us not be afraid of breaking the box we live in, let us find peace of mind in our every day lives. Let us Wake Up."

"For Crying Out Loud", can be pre-ordered on iTunes at this location and on Amazon over here. All digital pre-orders include an instant grat track downloads of "Wake Up." More...

Twilight Force Signs With Nuclear Blast

Swedish fantasy power metal act Twilight Force has signed on with Nuclear Blast Records. The foundation for what is now Twilight Force was laid out in 2011, with a quest to bring back the golden age of epic symphonic power metal.

By combining strong melodies with orchestral arrangements and fast tempos, Twilight Force wanted to create an intense and memorable listening experience; immersing the audience in a magic universe filled with wonder, heroic tales and mesmerising mythical worlds. Using their vast experience from previous musical endeavours, their classical training and technical proficiency, they started working intensely and meticulously in their studio in the heart of Sweden, the Twilight Forge.

The music took shape and grew from the depths of their hearts, and the basis of the songs swiftly came into existence. Hence, the first ever adventure metal album – "Tales Of Ancient Prophecies" - saw the light of day in 2014. In the wake of their successful first release, and two glorious tours across Europe with Sonata Arctica and Gloryhammer, Twilight Force have returned to the Forge to craft their second opus. The conquest has merely begun...

The band commented: "Sound the Horns of Triumph! It is with great exuberance that we can finally reveal that a legendary Scroll of Allegiance has been sealed. Twilight Force have entered into a pact with Nuclear Blast, and will henceforth stand proudly alongside venerable acts such as Nightwish, Sonata Arctica, Sabaton and Blind Guardian. This wondrous covenant will unlock magic portals to kingdoms unknown, and help us guide humans and kindred spirits alike into our mystical glorious realm. So, now is the time to rejoice! The Knights of Twilight's Might shall rise!" More...
