"Hair I Go Again" Documentary Film Tour Announced

"Hair I Go Again," a documentary about the determination and failures of a former hair band chasing after dreams, will commence a U.S. film tour on Tuesday, March 8th in Dallas, TX followed by the film’s “SXSW Invasion” slated for Thursday March 10th in Austin.

Denver based filmmakers Steve McClure and Kyle Kruger will present "Hair I Go Again" via various hosted film screening events through the summer of 2017.

The year was 1985. Thousands of miles away from the sonic debauchery of the Sunset Strip, two teenage friends shared aspirations of glam rock grandeur. Freshly permed and taking a page straight out of Hit Parader, a hungry, determined band was born. Fame and fortune, however, remained out of reach and the group unceremoniously imploded... probably over some chick.

Fast forward thirty years. Facing a mid-life crossroads, Kyle Kruger and Steve McClure set out on an improbable journey in order to fulfill their dreams of achieving rock & roll stardom. With credit cards maxed out and the 401K cashed in, the pair risk everything in hopes of reclaiming the magic they had as a band over a quarter century ago. More...

Added the band's rhythm guitarist Scott Ian, "Jon's approach towards lead guitar playing, he's more of a guy who's looking to construct something that makes sense and helps a song rather than the 45-seconds for him to be showing off how many notes he can play in x-amount of measures."

Society 1 Releases New Music Video

Society 1 has released a music video for the track "I Can't Feel," taken from the "Rise From The Dead" album.

This clip, available below, was directed and edited by singer Matt Zane of Lord Zane Productions (John 5, Wayne Static, Zakk Wylde, DMC, Orgy). The song was produced & mixed by Alex Crescioni at Stygian Sound and mastered by Maor Appelbaum at Maor Appelbaum Mastering. Zane had this to say:

"When I direct our own videos it's always a challenge considering I have to jump in front and behind the camera. This video was the most difficult out of all the Society 1 videos because not only did I have to perform but imagine what was going on in the scene. Everything was done on green screen so I was just trying to think about what it was supposed to look like.

"When I brought it into editing the real challenge began attempting to create what I envisioned. A very cool creative experience. We're going to concentrate in the realm of complete manifestations of worlds and environments for further video's to bring the music that much farther. We want every sound and visual to really capture the full spectrum of the viewers imagination." More...

Casket Robbery Premieres Full New Album

Both pulverizing and catchy, Wisconsin's Casket Robbery will release full-length debut album "Evolution of Evil" this coming March 4th through Mortal Music.

Pre-orders are online in various configurations here, but you don't actually have to wait till March to hear the album. That's right death metal fanatics: we're premiering the full "Evolution of Evil" album well in advance!

Listen in to all ten tracks below and let us know what you think of the style on display by these newcomers to the scene. Casket Robbery guitarist Cory Scheider (Echoterra, ex-Luna Mortis) comments:

“When we decided to do the album we knew we were going to pull out all the stops to make it the heaviest album we could imagine. We took our time to make sure that this debut would be massive. Not only in terms of the song writing but also the production.

"We teamed up with Chris Wisco to mix it, Cody Ratley to master it, and we recorded/engineered/produced a majority of the album ourselves. 'Evolution of Evil' is a direct imprint of our souls. We couldn’t deliver a more real and true death metal album.

"The songs on this album are our own brand of death metal. We do our own thing, our own way. You wont find many death metal albums that are catchy, brutal, unrelenting, and fun all rolled into one sound successfully. Our fans wanted to see us do a full length and here we have it! Turn it on, crank it, and fuck some shit up!" More...

70,000 Tons Of Metal, Day Two: "The Marathon Day"

I woke around 7am – excited for what was not only the first full day of the cruise…but what I hoped would be the most concerts I’ve ever attended in any single day of my life. It was all mapped out…but the question is – would the pool deck be ready?

I headed up to Deck 12 to assess the situation…and once I made it to the yellow police tape, I realized – here we go again. In 2015, the high winds at sea forced the crew to abandon building the pool deck stage (the largest at sea) until the morning. It took them until 6pm to get it ready for Soulfly’s set, forcing all other shows to be reworked indoors. This year, the plan going in seemed to be to rework the shows where available – likely at the end of the evening within the venues inside. I recalled my joke to Siegfried Sammer of Visions of Atlantis – “I’ll see you at 10am…IF – and that’s a big IF…the pool deck is ready.” Well, it appears the jinx was on because Visions of Atlantis would be bumped to Saturday. The guard told me that 11:30am was the target time for completion, which is still way better than 2015. More...
