Aniqatia Streaming "February"
As Bethlehem, Pennsylvania-based Aniqatia prepares for the release of sophomore EP, "Luminous," through Nefarious Industries in March, the opening track, "February," has seen an early premiere online. Listen in below.
Aniqatia collectively offers of the song: "'February' was chosen as the first single off of 'Luminous' because it takes all the varying dynamics found on the EP and combines them into a roller-coaster of a song. The track contains a little bit of everything that we pride ourselves in as a band and we are eager to share it with everyone.
"Lyrically, 'February' explores naturalistic themes about the harsh Winter we had last year here in Pennsylvania. Most of the writing for Luminous happened during that very long and frustrating Winter, which gave way to the ominous tones that can be heard on 'February' and throughout the rest of the EP.
"Luminous" will be released digitally on March 11th, 2016 via Nefarious Industries and most digital retailers. You can also see the band live:

Pepper Keenan Comments On Phil Anselmo Controversy
Following news that Down had been removed from the FortaRock 2016 lineup due to Phil Anselmo's recent on-stage antics, fellow Down member Pepper Keenan has now issued a statement about the situation. He had this to say:
"Any one who knows me is aware that I am not one to dabble much in social media, however due to what transpired last week at Dimebash I feel the need to respond and reach out to friends, family, music peers and fans worldwide.
"I am saddened and confused by the behavior of Philip Anselmo last week. I do not condone what was gestured and said. This lapse in judgment of 'making a joke' was in terribly poor taste and unacceptable.
"That philosophy is the opposite of what I am about. My heart follows love and soul and my music has been inspired from people of all walks of life and musical styles. I view music as a gift that is universal and intended for all of humanity. As a proud New Orleanian, life is about celebrating diversity through music, it’s about bringing people together, not tearing apart.
"I won’t speak for Phil but I’ve known him most of my life and I know there is not hate in his heart, however I hope at this moment in time Phil will focus his energy on self-reflection and begin the process of regaining perspective, healing himself and those lives he has touched through music. The Order Of Apollyon Signs With Agonia
The French black/death metal masters from The Order Of Apollyon have inked a record deal with Agonia Records, with plans to record a new EP in 2016.
Formed in 2008 by BST (Aosoth, ex-Aborted) and then-drummer Daniel Wilding (Carcass), The Order Of Apollyon is an artistic and spiritual concept. With lyrics based on "the Divine nature of Death, and the prophecy carried on by Death's ultimate servant, man, and a music between death metal and black metal, with martial ambient influences" (as commented by the band), TOOA has developed this personal sound through two full length albums: "The Flesh" (2010) and "The Sword And The Dagger" (2015).
Accompanied by a line-up consisting of members of the elite of the French black metal scene (Hell Militia, Aosoth, Temple of Baal), and starting a new international collaboration with Agonia Records, the band is now focusing on a next release, to be recorded at the infamous Bst Studios. Stay tuned for more info. More...
Extermination Temple Announces Vinyl Release
Cryptic Swedish outfit Extermination Temple is preparing for the release of the outfit's first vinyl release with the "Lifeless Forms" 7" EP in early March.
Extermination Temple is another project from the same artist who crafts the blackened hardcore madness of Broken Cross, and while the outfit's self-titled 2014 cassette demo was an equal mix of black and death metal, the impending "Lifeless Forms" 7" is undoubtedly overall more death metal.
The creepy and twisted sound carries direct influences from old-school Swedish death, with elements of hardcore and experimental/atmospheric influences, and lyrics that deal with mental illness and morbidity.

Phil Anselmo Suggests Down Go On Without Him
It's been a bad week for Phil Anselmo, with everyone from Robb Flynn of Machinehead to All Shall Perish calling him out after his "white power" shout and Nazi salute at Dimebash.
Phil issued an apology video, although that wasn't enough to save his band Down from real-world repercussions, as the organizers of the FortaRock festival booted the band off this year's bill.
Now it seems like Down itself is in peril of breaking up, as Anselmo posted this message online via his official website:
"To all this will concern, every citizen in this entire world has the unalienable right to live with dignity and respect without hate or oppression. And I mean this, with all of my crushed, yet, guilty heart.
"It’s common knowledge that we can choose to either learn from our mistakes, or continue on a path of insensitivity and destruction.
"I am utterly responsible for the mistakes I have made, and can only give you my word to no longer do them in the present, through ACTION, not just mere words.
"My band mates are now experiencing the consequences of my behavior, and I now publicly apologize to them as well. Never in my entire lifetime would I drag them down with me, and I’ve privately suggested to them that they move on without me.
"My biggest obstacle(s) are the over-indulging in the booze and blurting out spiteful, ignorant reductions of the human spirit itself. I will address these issues, head-on. I’m repulsed by my own actions, and the self-loathing I’m going through right now is justified by the hurt I’ve caused. More...

Megadeth's "Dystopia" Plugged By Bill O'Reilly
We knew it wouldn't be long before Dave Mustaine was back in the news over Phil Anselmo. This time it's not for saying anything particularly outrageous, but rather for getting a mention on "The O’Reilly Factor" (although for some, that's not much different - but look on the bright side, at least it's not Alex Jones this time).
Turns out in a massive string of tweets Dave had going with fans over the last few days, he mentioned buying all of O'Reilly's books and then asked Bill to buy Megadeth's new album "Dystopia."
Somehow this actually got back to O'Reilly, who then gave a shoutout on his show, commenting "I'm an R&B guy, not really into hard rock, but I'll keep an open mind on these things."
Both the tweet that started it all and the segment on TV can be seen below. More...

"Revolution is the opiate of the artist. In pain. We remain. But healed in the sweet addiction to art. We are. For this album, I unleashed my soul and allowed it to soar freely.
"I communed with the moon in the chrome of its light. I kissed the sun at its fiery height. I waged war with the Nightmare Kings, I sinned with the opalescent women in the roaring seas of poetry.
"On a cycloptic mare, hooves made of iron and air, I charged into the inky heart of art and roared at the old gods in the ashes of their ruin, 'You can't look away, WE ARE YOUR MISTAKE. WE... ARE... GENERATION DOOM!'"

Mellowtoy Premieres New Music Vieo
Today we're teaming up with Milan, Italy outfit Mellowtoy to exclusively premiere an absolutely crazy new music video for the song "Dead Colours," which has a lot more going on than first meets the eye.
This track comes off the "Lies" album released last year and available at iTunes here.
In the animated clip below, written and directed by The Jack Stupid, a silent creature attempts to bend the laws of nature to feel less lonely.
"Dead Colours" starts from Alan Moore's world and, in particular, from the Watchmen character Dr. Manhattan, an immortal creature that lives in a world that's still subordinated to cruel natural laws.
The protagonist knows that sooner or later, everyone and everything he loves will fade away just in front of his eyes. His fear of lonliness and all his pain for abandon make him interact with world's natural cycle. He slows down the time flowing to have more time to share with his beloved.
At the beginning this could seem a good solution but the plan reveals a huge fail and forces the creature to restore the natural cycle without a possibility to escape from his pain.
Considerations above pain, fear and loneliness seem to be the first and more expected reading of this video, there is also a biographical reference to Mellowtoy's story and the latest leaving of Matt Massa, the historic singer of the band.
It is not a coincidence that in this video you will hear his voice for the last time with Mellowtoy, in a sort of "artistic testament" and as a last goodbye to all his fans before leaving the scene to Simone Cristanelli, Mellowtoy's new singer. "Dead Colours" represents conscience following an environmental sensibility too often neglected for humans' irrationality. More...
