Motor Sister Announces Special Christmas Show

Los Angeles hard rock outfit Motor Sister has announced a special hometown performance on December 19th, 2015. Set to take place at Molly Malone's, fans are welcome to join the band for a pre-Christmas rock 'n roll bash starting at 9PM. For more event and purchase details, please visit this location.

Motor Sister released debut full-length, "Ride," earlier this year via Metal Blade Records. Comprised of a group of musicians whose collective musical pedigrees speak for themselves (Mother Superior's Jim Wilson, Anthrax's Scott Ian, Pearl Aday, Fates Warning/Armored Saint's Joey Vera, and White Zombie/Testament's John Tempesta), the quintet was originally assembled to jam for Scott Ian's 50th birthday party. Thanks to Scott's wife Pearl Aday, who has been working on her solo career with Jim Wilson for years, all it took was a quick phone call and the stage was literally set for Scott's dream gig.

"I wanted to cherry-pick a set list of my favorite Mother Superior songs and get these guys together and have the concert at my house," Scott says of the event that eventually led to an album. Since their formation and the release of Ride, Motor Sister has performed at the prestigious Motorhead Motorboat cruise, in addition to other dates across the USA. The band's upcoming Christmas party at Molly Malone's will be a rare, intimate show that fans won't want to miss. More...

Pilgrim Releases "Paladin" Video

Rhode Island's doom metal trio Pilgrim has launched a new video for "Paladin," taken from the 2014 album "II: Void Worship." Directed by Jon Schnepp (Metalocalypse, Upright Citizens Brigade, The Venture Brothers), "Paladin" can be viewed now in the player below.

Pilgrim's Jon "The Wizard" Rossi (guitar and vocals) comments: "We feel so lucky to have gotten to work with Jon Schnepp. He was amazing and fun to work with. We have always been huge Metalocalypse fans so it was a dream come true to add that show's style and art to our music. It truly is an honor. We shot the video about a year and a half ago, and since then we've been waiting eagerly and impatiently to see its release. We are more than happy with the end results and, quite frankly, pretty shocked - it's really far out."

Director Jon Schnepp adds: "Making the music video 'Paladin' for Pilgrim has been a blast! The band was totally down with me taking a literal D&D visual approach, and letting it get crazy! Rossi and the entire band performed incredibly in dual roles, as the Wizard and the Paladin, with great backgrounds by Sam Shearon, and special effects makeup by Cig Neutron and Rannie Rodil as the Demoness. I'm very excited for the rest of the world to experience 'Paladin' by Pilgrim!" More...

This is actually what we are doing, in a way." More...

Randy Blythe To Leave Country If Trump Elected

In an interview about upcoming touring plans and the band's recent decision to nix a European tour due to fear of terrorism, Metal Injection decided to ask Randy Blythe from Lamb Of God about the current Presidential candidates.

Namely he was asked about one Donald Trump, source of much internet controversy. In the interview, Blythe discusses his thoughts on the Republican candidate and states he'll leave the country if Trump is elected.

Relevant excerpts from the full interview can be read below.

Mi: Speaking of that, any thoughts on Donald Trump?

Blythe: I think he’s going to burn himself out. I think he’s going to say something so overarchingly stupid that people are finally going to be unable to accept what he’s saying anymore. But I almost think he’s a purposeful clown, a tool. I don’t know if he really wants to be President. He might just be a foil for the Republican party to say, “we gotta be tough right now in our international relations policy but not with this guy,” so they’ll get someone who looks more moderate into office. They’ll say we still need to be strong, hawkish right now but no, not Donald Trump. I mean. it’s ludicrous the things that he says. He’s making shit up.

MI: Yeah, all of a sudden Ted Cruz is the voice of reason.

Blythe: Exactly. I’m trying to read between the lines here and see if that’s what’s going on. If they’re in a back room somewhere and Donald Trump is saying, (in Trump voice), “I’m gonna say that we should pull a Nazi Germany maneuver and make all Muslims wear a yellow crescent moon on their arm” like the Gestapo did with the Jews in Nazi Germany. He could just be a clown. If he is the president though, I am leaving America till he’s gone.

Scala Mercalli Posts New Music Video

Italian heavy metal band Scala Mercalli released latest album “New Rebirth” on October 10th worldwide via Art Gates Records. Now the band has released a video taken off the album - check out “September 18, 1860” in the player below.

Comments Scala Mercalli: "As said in the title, 'September 18, 1860,' this song tells us of how Sardinian Kingdom Army defeated the Pontifical States during the battle of Castelfidardo (AN). The occupation of the Pontifical States Army on Italian central regions kept parted the northern part of Italy from the southern, which Garibaldi had set free from Austrian dominion. The defeat of the Pontifical States meant the unification of what will have become the first Italian Kingdom. The video was filmed partly on Musone river, were the vanguards of the army engaged in battle.

"Thanks to the authorities of Castelfidardo, the remaining scenes could be realized inside the National Monument dedicated to those who fell in battle, one of the most important of Italian Risorgimento.

"With this video, the band wants to remember the sacrifice of those who, from south to north, fell in battle for the unity of our country, but also give an example of national unity (that we hope one day could be of the whole world) that we should try, nowadays, to recover, in order to set the people free, as was done before, from the true oppressors who would like us divided." Ragnarok Completes New Album "Psychopathology"

Norway's Ragnarok, a band that has been active for over twenty years on the black metal scene, have completed work on the eighth full-length album, which is set to be released in early 2016 on Agonia Records. I can say with absolute certainty that this album will be the best in Ragnarok's career to date. It is the result of dedication, hard work, and the musical skills of our lineup, and is the next stage in the band's development, both musically and lyrically. 'Psychopathology' is about to unleash total chaos upon you as it invites you to dive deeper into the dark recesses of the human mind."

This will be the first album in the band's history that doesn't feature founder Jontho on drums. As a recording and touring band, Ragnarok requires 100% commitment from its members and at this point neither he nor Ragnarok felt that he would be able to give both bands that necessary commitment. We would like to thank him for the eight years he was with us and wish him all the best for the future.

"Going forward we will be concentrating all our energies on promoting the new album, and plan to take our time choosing the right bass player to take his place, so in the meantime we will be using a session musician for the upcoming live shows." More...

Kilmara Names Daniel Ponce New Vocalist

Spanish heavy metal act Kilmara has parted ways with singer Christian Wolfgang Kohl and has replaced him with North American singer Daniel Ponce.

The break with Kohl was done in a friendly manner and the rest of the band members intend on continuing to forge, maintain and increase the status that they have worked so hard in building over the past 15 years with Kilmara.

The band is confident that they have chosen well, and they are sure that Daniel Ponce is the right candidate with whom they will be able to reach new goals, new fans worldwide and new horizons!

Daniel Ponce was born in Tampa, Florida from a circus family (he is the fifth generation) and has traveled all his life around the world starting to appear on stage at the early age of 2. It would have been normal for him to have followed his father or his older brother’s steps, and also become a juggler like them, but from a very young age, what he really liked and what motivated him the most was music and singing. Since Daniel became 18 and settled in the south of Barcelona, he began his career as a singer, studying the voice and becoming a part of numerous projects, most of them related to hard rock and heavy metal, that gave him the opportunity to perform all around the Iberian Peninsula, some points of Europe and even in a few venues at Los Angeles in California.

Now a new chapter begins full of motivation, the best of hopes and of course a lot of work with Kilmara, to whom he is immensely grateful for this opportunity and with whom he will give his absolute best so that they can grow the most possible together and reach the highest goals.

Daniel commented: "The truth is that the try outs to become the singer have been very very hard and I know that there were very talented candidates also trying out for the position… So I really want to thank my band mates of Kilmara for trusting in me and for choosing me. And I want both them and the fans to know, that I will strive to the maximum to keep Kilmara’s name and legacy high where it belongs! Destiny has given me this chance and I don’t intend on letting down!!! More...
