Jeremy comments: "I feel a real responsibility to Jeff and to Kathryn to use these guitars in a way that honors him. As long as I own these guitars, I will use them and carry on Jeff Hanneman's legacy. Angel Vivaldi Posts "Crystal Planet" Video
Progressive guitar virtuoso Angel Vivaldi is fresh off of his successful "Touring You Apart" tour and already planning his touring schedule for spring 2016. In the meantime, Vivaldi has been hard at work putting the finishing touches on his cover of "Crystal Planet" (featuring As Blood Runs Black's Dan Sugarman), originally performed by guitar legend Joe Satriani.
Angel Vivaldi is pleased to unleash this re-imagined track along with its accompanying music video today. Check it out below. Vivaldi's modern progressive take on Satriani's guitar rock anthem sees the song in a much heavier light.
"The original has practically no rhythm guitar in it at all. A lot of those progressions were fantastic but were often overlooked by, of course, Joe's stellar playing. My goal was to make the song groovier and exaggerate the leads with different dynamics/harmonies," he says. "I've always admired Joe's ability to say a lot with the simplest phrasing. I wanted to honor these melodies with more dramatic, sometimes even aggressive variations to compliment the feel of the rhythm guitars." More...

Criminal Signs With Metal Blade
Metal Blade just re-signed the Chilean thrashers from Criminal, with the label having this to say about the deal:
"We are very happy to welcome back Criminal to the Metal Blade roster. Criminal released four albums in the past via Metal Blade before they moved on to different shores and are now preparing their return to the Blade with a major blast to drop in March of 2016!"
Comments Criminal main man Anton Reisenegger: “Re-signing to Metal Blade feels like coming home to me. I’ve had a very close relationship to the label from when they sent me vinyl promos for my fanzine in the eighties, to when they offered us to release our second album in the US and Europe in the nineties, to when I worked for them myself in the 00s. I’m very good friends with all of their staff, so I’m really happy they asked us to come back, and I am proud to say we are coming back with one of our best records to date!”
More details on the upcoming new studio album will be revealed shortly, but Anton is nice enough to give us a sneak preview: “The new album sounds really pissed off and aggressive. Angry old men who don’t give a fuck any more. We have come to terms with the fact we’re not going to be the next Slayer, but we keep doing this because we love making music together and I think we have something important to say in a time when image on the one hand and technique on the other seem to be more important than the riff. To us, it’s all about the riff!" More...

Commented by frontman Matt Young: "Having the opportunity to tour with Soulfly through the UK and Europe is an honour and we are really looking forward to our most extensive tour of the continent. Our new record 'Dead Set' has been received really well there, but it's our live show where the band excels. We feel like our live performance is pushing boundaries within the extreme realm of music, so having this chance to perform in a lot of new places is really important to us. We look forward to bring our new brand of chaos to the stages across Europe in 2016." More...

Once again co-produced, mixed and mastered by Roland Grapow (MasterPlan), "II" is not only the follow up to the outstanding and acclaimed self-titled debut album, but is an album with superbly crafted songs that will instantly become absolute metal classics. "The new album, being the follow up to a first record that was so greatly received, had to get to a higher place," says Tony Hernando. "After an intense year of writing and producing, along with the live performances, we came up with songs that are still deep and complicated in some arrangements, but have been written with the live performance in mind... The quest was to come up with something that artistically was meaningful for us as musicians and at the same time could catch the attention of the listeners. We really hope you enjoy this new album and come with us for a great ride!"
Tracks like "Merciless", "Everything You're Not", "Insane", "New World's Coming" and "Shadows of War" showcase the heavy and complex yet very melodic style of the band. The song "The Art of Illusions Part III: The Wasteland" is the conclusion to the trilogy that commenced on the debut album, while the song "Cry No More" is inspired and dedicated to the late, great, Phil Lynott.

Lenore S. Fingers To Return With New Album
After a period of relative silence, Lenore S. Fingers is ready to come back with a very ambitious album, more mature, complex, decadent and professional than what the already great debut "Inner Tales" has represented.
The new release will be entitled "All Things Lost On Earth," an Ariosto's quote from the poem "Orlando Furioso" and it will be released in the fall of 2016. Actually, most of the songs have been composed and arranged and demo extracts are expected to surface soon.

Circus Maximus To Wreak "Havoc"
Frontiers Music Srl is excited to announce all details of "Havoc," the eagerly anticipated new album from Circus Maximus, due for release on March 18, 2016.
"Havoc" is Circus Maximus' highly anticipated fourth studio album and one that will certainly make a huge impact on the progressive metal scene. The band's musical formula is not easy to pull off. Take jaw-dropping musicianship, singer Michael Eriksen with a voice from the heavens and put it together with hooks, anthemic melodies, and enough groove and heavy riffing to satisfy any prog metal fan, and you've got the Circus Maximus sound.
"The theme on this new album is about moments and experiences in life that lead to love and hate," says guitarist and producer Mats Haugen. "Metaphorically, it's about succumbing to fire and striving to cope with the aftermath of decisions when overshadowed by the love we have for others and ourselves."
Musically the band offers the usual mixture of very heavy moments intertwined with extremely accessible melodies. Songs like "Pages", the opener "The Weight", "After the Fire" and "Remember" show the full range of the Circus Maximus sound. Still, the album has very heavy songs ("Havoc") and slow and melodic moments ("Loved Ones") too.
The band is set to tour heavily in support of this new release with shows in Europe, US (they are already confirmed for the ProgPower Festival) and more territories to come.
The re-defining sound, the songwriting and the clever production, highlights the band as one of the leading, original Progressive-Metal bands around. It's early yet, but Havoc is an absolute contender for Top Album of 2016, transcending the boundaries and subgenres of Hard, Progressive and Metal music. It`s just THAT good - enjoy! More...
