Accept Meets With Survivors Of Colectiv Club Fire

The members of Accept recently met with a group of survivors of the awful Colectiv Club blaze in Romania at the end of October that killed dozens and injured hundreds. Accept had this to say about the poignant moment:

"We had the honor today to meet backstage with 25 survivors of the horrible club fire in Bucharest where over 60 people lost their lives.

"Stories where shared, pictures were taken and we presented a signed Framus guitar to be auctioned off for the victims fund.

"Moments like this put everything in perspective. We dedicate the show tonight to all the ones who lost their lives but also to the ones who have to live on." More...

Oranssi Pazuzu Releasing New Album

In 2013, Finland's Oranssi Pazuzu issued the "Valonielu" LP (reviewed here). Now, in the early months of 2016, Oranssi Pazuzu returns with the follow-up album and fourth full-length overall, titled "Värähtelijä."

Issues the band of this newest opus: "'Värähtelijä' is continuing where we left off with 'Valonielu,' but it plunges deeper into the pitch black hypnosis, combines progressive song structures to more free and flowing parts. At the same time, it's the heaviest and the most atmospheric album we`ve done so far. The fusion between different ends of spectrum reveals new realities we`ve never discovered before.

"We really wanted this album to go to new places and to be the crossover album of genres we always wanted to do. To further boost the idea, the album was done with Julius Mauranen who had previously done lots of Finnish shoegaze and indie pop albums. I think it's safe to say that this is by far the heaviest stuff he has done and for us, working with a guy like him stretched our sound to much more dynamic and trippy horizons.

"Lyrics-wise, the songs revolve around tripping in a psyche-space, with each song representing a vision or mirage that will be revealed to the listener. They are individual, but contain common elements with themes of unknown, sacrifice, transcendence, hate, hierarchy of power and, in the end, becoming a part of the cosmos through death."

"Värähtelijä" is being finalized for worldwide release on February 26th, 2016, with 20 Buck Spin handling the album for North America and Svart handling international territories on CD, 2xLP and digital platforms. The track listing is as follows: More...

Rhine Posts "An Outsider" Trailer

Seattle’s Rhine is proud to announce the band's return in 2016 with new album "An Outsider." This album follows 2011's debut "Duality," which was first a solo effort by band founder Gabriel Tachell (guitar and vocals).

Now joined by Alex Smolin on guitar (ex-Metameric), James Porter on bass (Ideofone), and Carlos Delgado (Inferion, ex-Death Crowned King) to collaborate on this project, the band has posted a trailer to give a glimpse of what's to come from the 10 track full length when it's unleashed on February 5th, 2016.

Band founder Gabriel Tachell comments on the release: "'An Outsider' is about the struggle that comes with being different, it’s a love/hate situation. You want to shine but you’re afraid of it at the same time. You want to create trends, not follow them, but it’s scary to be the first one. It also has to do with social struggles and always feeling like a stranger. This theme is primarily represented by the title track.

"Many of the songs have different themes that are not all closely related. The album is all over the map emotionally. Not just angry and dark, but sometimes totally ironic or sometimes very deep and inspiring. It mixes in emotions you wouldn’t typically hear on a metal record like joy and nostalgia. The listening experience is a journey that won’t get you worn out on a single emotion, instead it is dynamic like we are as humans. We form strong bonds to the music we love because of all these things that it can convey, and we are attempting to create something people can feel the same way about." More...

Allegaeon Recruits New Vocalist

Allegaeon just completed over a month's worth of touring with label mates Act of Defiance, which featured Riley McShane on the microphone for his first full tour with the band. He was filling in following the departure of Ezra Haynes back in October.

Upon returning home, Allegaeon is prepared to announce McShane as the band's new permanent vocalist. Riley has become a permanent member just in time for the band to begin work on their new album.

Guitarist Greg Burgess comments: "We are extremely excited to officially announce Riley McShane as the permanent vocalist of Allegaeon. For those who have come to see us on the last two tours, I'm sure this will come as no surprise; his past work with Son Of Aurelius, Inanimate Existence, and Continuum speaks loudly as to who the man is as a musician and what kind of weapons he brings to the band. As a long time friend, and being a huge fan of his vocal abilities, this is very exciting for us. New blood is always a great catalyst for creativity, and to bring in a musician of his caliber has been nothing short of awesome. Not only has he been a perfect fit for the group personality-wise, but has also provided us with an array of new vocal techniques to use at our disposal. So, Riley, welcome! All Hail Science!"

Updates on new material from Allegaeon will be available later this winter. "Elements of the Infinite," the band's most recent effort, cracked the Billboard Charts and debuted at #25 on the Hard Music Chart. More...

InnerWish Announces New Self-Titled Album

Greek melodic metal act InnerWish will release the new album entitled "InnerWish" on March 18, 2016 in Europe and North America via Ulterium Records. The artwork for the album was created by Felipe Machado Franco (Blind Guardian, Rhapsody Of Fire, Xandria) and the design was done by Jan Yrlund (Korpiklaani, Apocalyptica, Manowar). Check it out below.

The band commented on the new album: "This is the first album with our new lineup, and we hope this lineup will be unchanged for many years since we now feel stronger, more confident and sure about ourselves than ever before. For those reasons we chosed 'InnerWish' as the title of our new album, because it represents us in the most exact way. We are very proud of this album. It might sound very common, but it's the truth for us: this is the best InnerWish album so far! Heavy, aggressive, modern, melodic and diverse at the same time, with all the classical InnerWish elements, combined with some new ones. It might have been 6 years since the release of 'No turning back' but all the difficult times we've been through made us stronger and the result is this new, fifth album of InnerWish. We are back for good!"

More details about the album will be announced early next year. Check out the artwork here: More...
