Kult Mogil: "All Men Play [With The Volume] At 10"
The new Polish death metal group Kult Mogil is about to release a debut full-length titled "Anxiety Never Descending" later this month via Pagan Records.
We are stoked to be premiering that album in full a little closer to the release date, but in the mean time we wanted some more info on this mysterious group that hasn't released much info about the lineup.
After getting in touch with the members the other day, the end result was a fabulously nihilistic and snarky interview. It's clear that "Anxiety Never Descending" is a death metal album in a very literal sense of the term, with the band describing the central lyrical idea by saying: "Through the words the readers have to realize that with time there will be more and more deaths, then suddenly their turn will come. The end."
It's also an album meant to be played LOUD, as I was informed the only proper way to hear the disc is with the volume nob firmly cranked to 10 and no lower. Check out the full interview below, to discover such gems as where parts can be appropriately fondled (and remember, English is not these guys' main language). More...

Pit Stories: Seeing The Band For The First Time
We've hit another Tuesday and that means its time for some Pit Stories. This week there's no smashed equipment, no climbing up stage lighting, and no couples going to town on each other in front of the stage.
Nope, we're leaving all that nonsense behind to focus on that feeling you get when you see a band you adore live for the very first time. This week Matt Copeland from Canadian band Adrenechrome shared this story from the Decibel Magazine 2015 tour:
About six months ago in April 2015 a couple friends a myself went to witness the Decibel Magazine Tour 2015 featuring Vallenfyre, Pallbearer, Converge and legendary Swedish metal masters At the Gates. We were of course stoked, as we had never seen any of these bands live previously.
After a few beers we were ready for the music to start. It was exactly what we had expected Vallenfyre melted our faces with their blend of blackened/grind. Pallbearer unfortunately missing their bass player on this leg of the tour still reigned supreme that night providing their own twist of doom metal. Converge being the band we were wanting to see the most that evening did not disappoint and left us in awe. Last but not least the legends of Swedish metal themselves At the Gates absolutely slayed and proved to us they were still the headlining act they had always been.
After giving you an idea on how the actual show itself was, there is one part of the evening that really stuck in our heads and I believe always will. After many more cold beverages we made our way up to the Pallbearer merch table. All the lads were there so after buying a few things we began to basically shoot the shit with them about the show, their music and the tour thus far. I think the fact that we had recently discovered this band for ourselves and being that we were (still are...) very infatuated with them made this meeting super rad and unforgettable. They were very interested on what we had to say about the set, their music and just about us in general.
That was probably the first time I had ever met an entire band that were the definition of ‘regular dudes’ in the sense of us being able to chat and somewhat ‘fanboy’ to them without them getting annoyed or feeling awkward.
In the end, it was very cool to meet a band that we admire so much and have the chance to just shoot the shit and hang with them for a good hour or so as though hanging with our everyday pals. Made me appreciate them as people and appreciate their band even more. Great dudes, great band and a great show all around.
If you catch Adrenechrome live, be sure to let 'em know you read this and chat them up after the show! The band's new album "Tales From Adrenechrome" launched last month and can be heard in its entirety below. You can also follow the latest on Adrenechrome by heading over to Facebook here. More...

Source Enters The Studio
Boulder, CO-native progressive metal band Source is very pleased to announce that Scott Wilson, primarily recognized as bassist for chart-topping rockers Tantric, has signed on to produce upcoming album, "Return To Nothing," which is set to hit stores early 2016.
The band headed into Colorado Sound Studios in Westminster, CO earlier this week to begin tracking. "Return To Nothing" marks the band's full length debut - and in addition to six original conceptual tracks - will feature remastered versions of three songs originally featured on a previous EP: "Forgiveness," "Veil of Doubt," and "The Serpent."
Producer Scott Wilson is very excited to begin working with Source, he comments: "The first time we met was after seeing them play live at Sunshine Studios Live in Colorado Springs when I first moved to town. So many bands go through the motions of music but with Source I felt the heartbeat of their creations. Because of my production style, I knew I would feel right at home creating music we both love."
Source vocalist, guitarist and composer Ben Gleason adds, "Scott has a real passion for music and self-expression. His style and influence are very in line with our vision for this album and we're stoked to see how he brings the music to life!" More...

Ketzer Posts Behind The Scenes Footage
Set to release new full-length "Starless" on January 29th via Metal Blade Records, Germany's Ketzer has now launched a behind-the-scenes video from in the studio that gives fans a glimpse into the album recording session. Check it out below.
Ketzer (German for "heretic") spent two months in the studio during the summer of 2015 recording third album, "Starless." Thematically, the band explores the idea of religion v. reality-- is there a truth in between? Ketzer explains, "Centuries ago, humankind looked up into the star-filled night skies, questioning the universe and their lives within it. In order to find answers, mythology was born. But religion and myths cannot connect to the world we live in today. They have blinded the night skies - hence, we have become 'starless'."

Temisto Signs With Pulverised Records
The one and only Pulverised Records just issued this announcement online about inking a deal with Temisto:
"Welcoming the latest on our roster is one of Sweden's most deadly morbid-league Temisto! Previously under the moniker Chapel, the relentless duo bulldozed through ten blistering tracks on the group's self-titled debut with such raw conviction and unsurpassed songwriting intellect; constantly moving in and out of dissonant territory.
"With the now-defunct Morbus Chron frontman Robert Andersson and Elias Scharmer (ex-Abduction, ex-Mutilate) at the producer / engineering helm, Temisto's self-titled album was also mastered by Tore Stjerna at Necromorbus Studio (Watain, Desultory, Repugnant, etc) with exquisite artwork and layout by Obssessed By Cruelty (Wolfbrigade, Enforcer, Agent Steel, Sabbat, etc).
"The Temisto self-titled album is easily one of the most refreshing stuff we have heard this year and the one thing that caught our attention instantly was how accomplished they are as songwriters, coupled with that organic and honest slab of death metal that we rarely hear these days. The level of maturity displayed on the record is just unbelievable and it certainly transcends an aura of otherworldly obscurity that Temisto have managed to capture perfectly." More...

As with our previous 'Live Disease' preview clips, I sincerely hope this new sample gives you all a visual and sonic impression that'll blow you away.
"Broken Hope unleashes hell throughout this entire concert DVD and companion Live CD, but we couldn't have done it without Tomas from Brutal Assault, all the video crew, sound engineers, production, staff, Century Media, and most of all, the FANS! Thanks for watching and sharing this special piece of Broken Hope history. Cheers!" More...
Trivium Splits With Drummer
After parting ways with Travis Smith in 2010 and Nick Augusto in 2014, Trivium has again split with the band's current drummer. The group issued this statement online about parting with Mat Madiro:
"We are writing this to let you all know that Trivium has amicably parted ways with Mat Madiro as our drummer. Mat stepped up for us at a dire moment where it was either leave a tour, or carry on. With Mat, we will forever be eternally grateful of everything he helped us out with. Mat’s time filling in for us was much appreciated.
"Creatively though, we felt at this time we needed to make a change. And every change, every difficult decision and every evolution that Trivium has either decided, or been forced to make has been for the necessary for us to continue on as a functioning band. The things that go on behind the scenes that directly involve the Trivium members aren't always apparent from an outside fan’s perspective.
"With that said our new drummer is Paul Wandtke from Chicago, IL. With Paul, we took our careful time deciding exactly what had to happen and how. We spent our time checking out, trying out and feeling out many drummers this time around. After much deliberation, Paolo said to Matt one day 'you should hit up John Petrucci and see if he has an ideas.' We figured our friend John may have some ideas from the Berklee-world. More...

Voice Of Ruin Splits With Drummer
Voice Of Ruin just issued the following announcement about parting ways with the band's long-time drummer:
"After more than 7 years (since the beginning of the band), our dear drummer Olivier has decided to put an end to his journey in Voice of Ruin. It came as a shock to us, especially to me, as we founded the band together with Nils in late 2008.
"As of today, Olivier has different goals than the rest of the band and he choose to step down rather than preventing the project to move on. As you can imagine, being in a band like Voice Of Ruin takes quite some time and requires a lot of sacrifices and dedication. We respect his decision as band members and above all as FRIENDS! More...
Destroyer 666 Unveils New Album
Australia's black/thrash instigators from Destroyer 666 have announced new details behind their forthcoming album. The influential metal legends will release "Wildfire" worldwide on February 26th, and the artwork is available below.
Working track titles include "Traitor," "Live and Burn," and a title track. More news regarding the album, including the details behind physical formats and several track premieres will be available in the weeks to come.
Regarding the album cover, artist Zbigniew M. Bielak comments: "Contrary to the usual route, part of my family fled communism to Australia. Thus my isolated cousins used to send me tapes with weird Oz bands like Armoured Angel, Martire, or Hobbs instead of American thrash. There has to be something about the shackled bloodline or maybe the Mad Max thing...or just what frontman KK likes to call '...our innate ability to do everything better than the others,' but damn me if all of those Australian bands were not just fiercer than everyone else. My love for metal from down under endured and finally, after countless merchandise designs and three reissue collaborations, 'Wildfire' is Ddestroyer 666's first brand new album that I have worked on."
Bielak continues, "What survived from the usual brainstorming ordeal is a nod to classic metal imagery in a biker-friendly, Danzig meets Blasphemy vein - a refreshing and welcome exercise in simplicity. Having outlasted retro trends, stripped of all gimmickry right to their very rock n' roll bone, Destroyer 666 stand tall, hailing both Slaughter Lord and Angry Anderson with what is in my opinion their most unforced and classy album to date." The Glorious Rebellion Premieres "Benaquyl"
We've got a real treat for you today if you want something loud and to the damn point already!
The Glorious Rebellion's new album "Euphoric" will drop on April 8th via Magnetic Eye Records, offering up six tracks of stellar, sludgy noise rock with a dose of groove metal.
That feels like an eternity away, but today we're premiering new single "Benaquyl" well in advance of the release to let you know what to expect - check it out below!
Band founder Billy Myers III said the following about the track: "Insomnia is something I deal with pretty regularly. This is a song filled with the things you say to yourself when you're bashing your head at your desk at work after a couple weeks with little to no sleep."
You can find more info on The Glorious Rebellion at Facebook or read the band's recent entry in our Pit Stories series about breaking shit on stage over here. In their own words, the members of The Glorious Rebellion describe themselves like this:
"Loud. Noisy. Get to the fucking Point. We're not here to make friends. We're not here to play nice. We're not here to 'support the scene.' We're not looking for a good time. Crank it up and yell at it until our point is made and then get off the stage."
"Euphoric" has some seriously tongue-in-cheek track titles (personal favorite: "Bitches Hate Misogyny"), with the full track listing as follows:
1. It's a Sucker's Game, Kid
2. Emmett Brown Has Never Met a Scott That Wasn't Great

B.O.A.N. features Günter Maier (ex-U8, ex-Stygma IV, ex-Crimson Cult) and Lem Enzinger (ex-U8, ex-Schubery, ex-No Bros, ex-Dos Bastardos). The songs are musical conversions of twelve poems written by Enzinger. Eleven are based on his personal near death experience, with the twelfth dedicated to the Austrian painter Anton Christian, whose paintings had an essential influence to the development of this album.

Purson To Issue "Desire's Magic Theatre" In March
Purson welcomes you to "Desire's Magic Theatre"... a Technicolor trip through the mind's eye of songstress/vocalist /guitarist Rosalie Cunningham, whose signature approach to her craft stands boldly center stage, blending progressive dexterity and cabaret romp into a compelling, multi-faceted rock 'n' roll show.
The album will be released on March 25 via Spinefarm Records.
"Desire's Magic Theatre" draws inspiration from the rock operas of the late '60s and early '70s; musically, visually and lyrically, it touches on a variety of realms, including folk, prog, psychedelic, gothic, and classic rock, making telling use of classical instruments and complex arrangements, and fully exploring the outer limits of reel to reel tape.
"'Desire's Magic Theatre' has turned out to be everything I'd imagined and more," said Cunningham. "My world has been so consumed by it that I've barely been able to reflect on what it has become: a technicolor variety show, a playful display of the musical whims only briefly hinted at in our previous work; a psychedelic rock opera dedicated to our good friends Sarge Pepper and Zig Stardust."
More information on the release is expected soon. More...

Frozen Ocean Details "The Prowess Of Dormition"
Since 2005, Russian multi-instrumentalist Vaarwel has been creating music of incredible power, imagination, diversity and depth and releasing it under the banner of Frozen Ocean. From his studio base in the Russian wilderness he has allowed his creativity free rein to roam and explore – unhindered by the expectations of any scene, with utter disregard for the unwritten rules of any genre. His thoughts have wandered through the fantasy worlds of Tove Jansson to the cold darkness of deep space, pondered the vastness of the universe and the intimate intensity of personal emotions and the music of Frozen Ocean has followed, morphing and expanding, changing and becoming whatever is needed to find the perfect expression of those thoughts.
Frozen Ocean has called a host of labels home on this odyssey, but now the nomadic wanderer has united with Apocalyptic Witchcraft; a label that seeks out the most creative and independently minded of artists. Frozen Ocean and Apocalyptic Witchcraft are the perfect match and the first fruits of their union are with you now, in the stunning form of the new EP "The Prowess Of Dormition," which is set for release on February 26, 2016.
These four sprawling tracks of stirring, thrilling, melodic blackened metal are a celebration of this new chapter in Frozen Ocean’s journey. They draw you into a world beyond the everyday, offer you escape to a wild, fantastical ride so perfectly realized you can taste it and feel the cold winds of winter on your face. Let these songs bring your imagination to life, stir your blood and show you realms undreamed of.
