Randy Blythe On Trump: "If He Is The President, I Am Leaving America Till He's Gone"

In an interview about upcoming touring plans and the band's recent decision to nix a European tour due to fear of terrorism, Metal Injection decided to ask Randy Blythe from Lamb Of God about the current Presidential candidates.

Namely he was asked about one Donald Trump, source of much internet controversy. In the interview, Blythe discusses his thoughts on the Republican candidate and states he'll leave the country if Trump is elected.

Relevant excerpts from the full interview can be read below.

Mi: Speaking of that, any thoughts on Donald Trump?

Blythe: I think he’s going to burn himself out. I think he’s going to say something so overarchingly stupid that people are finally going to be unable to accept what he’s saying anymore. But I almost think he’s a purposeful clown, a tool. I don’t know if he really wants to be President. He might just be a foil for the Republican party to say, “we gotta be tough right now in our international relations policy but not with this guy,” so they’ll get someone who looks more moderate into office. They’ll say we still need to be strong, hawkish right now but no, not Donald Trump. I mean. it’s ludicrous the things that he says. He’s making shit up.

MI: Yeah, all of a sudden Ted Cruz is the voice of reason.

Blythe: Exactly. I’m trying to read between the lines here and see if that’s what’s going on. If they’re in a back room somewhere and Donald Trump is saying, (in Trump voice), “I’m gonna say that we should pull a Nazi Germany maneuver and make all Muslims wear a yellow crescent moon on their arm” like the Gestapo did with the Jews in Nazi Germany. He could just be a clown. If he is the president though, I am leaving America till he’s gone.

I'm not a Trump supporter by any means (well, other than that he's basically ensuring a Democratic victory I guess...) but I'm also really not a fan of the obnoxious "if person X gets elected I'm moving to Canada" nonsense we hear every election cycle. None of the whining Democrats actually did it when Bush got elected the second time, none of the whining Republicans actually did it when Obama got elected, and Randy Blythe is almost certainly not going to move to another country if by some bizarre twist of fate Trump manages to become President.

If Donald Trump doesn't have to STFU, then neither should intelligent Americans like Randy. No, I don't think he'll be moving, but I guess no one here has ever used hyperbole to make a point. It's called "poetic license." I know, now for all the juvenile comments on how Blythe's not a poet....

Agreed xFiruath and Oz. And for the record I don't see Trump getting the nom. Both parties better be paying attention to how fed up the country is with the traditional Red and Blue though. It's time for real change when a blow hard like Trump sees numbers like he has been.

Preferably, you never want to hear any political takes from your bands, because 9 time's of out of 10 they don't know what the hell they're talking about or do the research to have a valid opinion on anything of the matter, and I also never understood why artist's go out and bash 1 party primarily, it's a turn off to a portion of your fanbase and why offend any of them? Sure you can have an opinion but when you're an entertainer and in the public eye especially in a band and having other mates to worry about, it isn't wise to alienate any of your following.
I'm sure there aren't conservative LOG fans leaving them in droves support wise but again, I can't ever imagine it being a smart business strategy to do so.

My outlook on it is this. Jimmy Carter instituted a temporary ban on Iranians entering the country during the Iran hostage crisis, but today's crybaby liberals seem to ignore it and spew their liberal drivel that Trump is acting like Hitler. This pc p***y agenda has made crybabies out of people. Crying that if someone doesn't agree with their liberal agenda they are this and that. Muslims refuse to assimilate to their host countries laws and scream for sharia law to be instituted. They scream they hate America, yet enjoy free handouts from the muslim loving sympathing govt. They show disdain for anything non muslim, yet scream racism and bigotry when their way of life is shown disdain and the liberals/democrats back them up. They are allowed to attack people and their victims are made out to be the ones responsible. The govt threatens prosecution to those who want to disrespect the putrid "religion" of islam. Our govt has turned America over to the muslims and keeps protecting them and hiding the truth that islamic terrorists are training in American cities. We, as a nation, are being bullied into submission by corporate sponsored pawns who are responsible for the deaths of Americans at the hands of the subhuman trash that muslims love to be. They scream for open mindedness yet are close minded caveman mentality filth. Trump has spoken the truth and we all know the truth is considered lies to the crybaby liberals/democrats who coddle and pamper those who want to commit genocide against us infidels. The more we say nothing the stronger the enemies of America become. If Blythe wants to run away like a coward I say good riddance. To Blythe I say, reach up into your vagina and pull your testes out and quit crying like a pre-school girl about the truth of reality today. Don't be afraid to offend those who want to kill you if you refuse to convert to their satanic theology. Be a fkn man and show a fkn spine. The more you speak like this the more you show you refuse to support the truth that muslims are spreading like a disease across America and are destroying democracy, freedom, etc. The very fabroc of Ametica is being torn apart to appease some 3rd world trash hell bent on killing us all.......and if my comment offends anyone, go cry to your mother for raising a pansy crybaby.......

I've read Randy's comments a few times and I'm really having trouble understanding what is so bad about what he said. I guess we like some people to be outspoken, until they speak out. Or maybe an outspoken person can't criticize another outspoken person? I don't see where Trump is any more informed than Randy to be honest. At least Randy's not totally out of his element and running for office.

Excellent use of far right talking points, Branded.
"The more we say nothing the stronger the enemies of America become."
Which is why what we DO say is important. Having the 'courage' to say what other people are thinking, doesn't mean it's the right thing to say. It doesn't really make them courageous either. Many times it just makes them foolish when it blows up in their face. There is a balance between being too blunt and being too PC, and neither side of the political chasm seems to be striking that balance. If Trump truly had balls, he'd be saying what he really feels, not what he thinks potential republican voters want to hear, but truth is a rare commodity in an election cycle.

"We, as a nation, are being bullied into submission by corporate sponsored pawns who are responsible for the deaths of Americans at the hands of the subhuman trash that Muslims love to be."

Huh? We're being bullied by pawns? And those pawns are really just doing the bidding of their corporate masters? bullied into submission? What are we submitting to? So, are you saying that Muslims killing Americans is due to Big business? Does big business want Muslims (who aren't strong consumers) killing Americans (who are huge consumers)? Sorry, that sentence just doesn't make any sense.

I really can't bring myself to agree with any of your xenophobic comments, but I commend you for avoiding the use of caps lock.

Now, I guess I better call my mother before the waterworks start... curse my leaking eyes. ;)

Politicians are corporate sponsored pawns who make laws that are now tyrannical. The more we stand up against it, the more they change the laws to beat us down. The muslims are being beought here to spread their vile trash religion while they scream that they are treated unfairly by Americans. Well, boo hoo to those fkrs. They cry that bacon is offensive, so bacon is taken off menus. They cry that they are offended that Americans are not accepting them. Well, why should we accept a group of close minded caveman mentality people who are on a global march of genocide in the name of their satanic allah. All we hear from these putrid fks is death to this, death to that, change your laws to suit us, change your ways of life to suit us, we are above your laws because we are muslims. Then when we say fk you, we are the ones who are wrong. They scream their allah akbar while killing children, then cry foul when they are attacked for it. The more this country keeps allowing these subhuman piles of trash to prosper, the more this country sinks deeper into the quagmire of slavery. I don't care what you or anyone else thinks about my posts, I still speak against modern day slavers, child rapers, sex slavery dealers, etc. But that makes me xenophobic because I refuse to accept this desert dwelling trash to scare me into complacency through fear, which is what they and our govt are doing through new laws that makes Americans guilty of hate speech for speaking against the muslim bs.

Which US laws are tyrannical to the benefit of Muslims (or jihadi extremists)? (sorry if I'm reading too much into your first sentence.)

Maybe my part of the country is more sheltered, but I'm not experiencing the 'muslim takeover' that you're describing. I'm not seeing where laws are being made here to further any Islamic agenda. I definitely haven't seen any bacon taken off menus here. Quite the opposite really. :)

**There is a difference between Muslims and the terrorists like ISIS or Al-Qaeda. **
Is Keith Ellison or Andre Carson a terrorist, or are they trying to destroy your way of life? What about MU member Gorecvnt? You know he has claimed to follow Islam, right? (Sorry GC if I get you dragged into this. not my intent.) Do they fit the descriptions you've assign to them?

I'm just trying to point out that lumping all members of a religion (or race, or nation, etc) is stereotyping, ignores individuality and leads to more divisiveness and intolerance. I'm sure you don't like being discriminated against, yet the name calling and painting all Muslims with a broad brush does the exactly that. That rhetoric is xenophobic. There is no other way to describe it.

Additionally, all the name calling does nothing to justify your argument. In fact, this type of anti-muslim rant is being used as recruitment by groups like ISIS. They use that anger against them to recruit people by painting our way of life as evil, intolerant and against their strongly held Islamic beliefs. You're doing more harm than good with the anti-muslim sentiments.

Just remember that muslims are not all terrorists and terrorists are not all muslims. We've been terrorized by our own non-muslim citizens much more than any militant Jihadists.

The attorney general of the u.s. has said "anyone who criticizes islam will be prosecuted". Her words!! Muslims are allowed to criticize everything they find "offensive" and it gets changed to suit them. Dearborn Michigan has a huge muslim population and they have isis flags waving but yet that is free speech. The u.s. govt has continuously banned things christian, pro white, offensive to foreign and domestic minorities while trampling on the rights of Americans. It all goes back to the "fundamental transformation" that adolf obama talked about. Who's fubdamentals are being implemented? Islamic fundamentals are slowly being instituted around the country. In schools, children are being indoctrinated by having them wear muslim hijabs, field trips to mosques, etc. Wtf is that teaching them? They are told to report anyone saying offensive things about islam. Looking back in history, what maniacal leader had the kids do that? That's right, Hitler. Yet christians are attacked at every corner in schools by banning religious clothing, yet muslims are allowed to wear their religious clothing daily. We can't have christians pray in school, but muslims are allowed to have their prayer time. Here in Charlotte, these so called "refugees" have been given housing, yet Americans go homeless. This country is being handed over to foreigners while we are slowly beaten down into poverty. But, it's considered bad to talk about it because it might offend someone. As for the name calling, I don't care what anyone thinks. Ameticans are called all kinds of names by these foreign parasitic leeches who scream their hatred of America, freedom, democracy. Yet, if we say anything back, we are in the wrong. It all goes back to the PC bs that the liberal and democrats keep pushing upon us. We are to bow down and accept it or else we are considered racist, xenophobic, etc. The adolf obama regime gave numerous members of the muslim brotherhood positions of power. These are people who despise America and have conspired to destroy it from within, and they are supported by the stupid liberals and democrats who have brainwashed countless people with their nazi style propaganda. The more they are allowed to demonize, the stronger the anti-American groups become. People who refuse to open their eyes to it are always screaming that people who stand up against it are evil, racist, etc. Some may be, but it is just more attacks upon freedom of speech for Americans, mostly christians and whites. Muslims are allowed to scream all the hate speech they want and nothing is done. They call for the execution of gays, thats ok. If christians were to do that, you know damn well they would be prosecuted for it. But since the muslim sympathizers in govt have been bought off, they allow tbe radical islamic agenda to prosper while clamping down on patriotic Americans defending freedom, democracy, etc. Again, it goes back to the anti-American establishment and their agenda to turn America into a 3rd world muslim infested toilet. Again, I say, call me what you will, I don't give any fks at all. The more the better. It shows that more n more people are being trained to hate those who defend free speech, freedom of press, etc. I am 100% anti-religious, but I will stand with the christians because I don't have to worry about them wanting to cut my head off if I do not convert to their religion, like muslims do to non muslims world wide. In fact, just yesterday, I gave a christian co worker a shirt ad a Christmas gift. It had jesus on it smiling, and pointing with the caption "all about that grace". A take on "all about that bass". An anti-religious guy giving a religious person a gift. I am both open and close minded, but all people want to see is the close minded side of me. Only because I tell it like it is, which offends those who can't stand someone telling the truth about reality today. Truth is now considered lies to the ones who want to erase America and the past. Funny how the liberals of today are screaming Trump is hitler for his "ban muslims" comment. Jimmy Carter did it during the hostage crisis, but they refuse to acknowledge that, because it doesn't suit their agendas of today.

Prosecuting actions not words. She is saying the people who DO something will be prosecuted. She is NOT saying that speech will be.

The rest of your comments have either been proven false by rumor bebunking sites like snopes or are only printed in hyper-partisan websites with a poor track record of truthfulness. You really need to re-evaluate your news sources.

Again the main thing I disagree with is stereotyping all muslims as America hating terrorists.

**There is a difference between Muslims and the terrorists like ISIS or Al-Qaeda. **

Just like the Westboro baptists do not represent all Christians, Militant Jihadists like ISIS do NOT represent all Muslims.

Not all Muslims are bad. In Dearborn, the flags were actually an ANTI-ISIS rally - by Muslims. Muslims demonstrating AGAINST ISIS.

Don't let the nutcase terrorists hi-jack your opinion of Islam in general. I trust your smart enough to know that ISIS wants everyone to think Islam is against the US, because that supports their recruitment propaganda. You're smarter than that. don't get sucked into supporting ISIS with blind hatred. I know that's not what you want.

I'd like to see the more open-minded side of you. You don't show it very often around here.
