Commented the band: "'Breaking Ground' is very varied, so you'll be getting some ballads and some heavier stuff, and a lot of good tunes overall." More...
Ex-Decrepit Birth Guitarist Pleads Not Guilty
Former ex-Decrepit Birth guitarist has pleaded not guilty to sex crimes charges.
The District Attorney's office has filed 14 charges involving five girls and one woman against Michael Jay Turner, 27, who entered his plea to Judge Samuel Stevens on Wednesday.
Turner is accused of molesting three girls and videotaping them along with two others in sexual positions between 2002 and 2006. He was also charged with sexually battering an unconscious adult woman.
Prosecutors have not released specific descriptions of the charges, nor have they released the exact ages of the victims, saying only that four of the girls were "prepubescent" and a fifth was under 14.
Ross Taylor of the District Attorney's office said that still more charges could be coming.
"The investigation is just not complete," he said. "We've got a lot of leads and the sheriff's office is chasing them down."
A native of Arkansas, Turner played for about two years in Decrepit Birth, a local band that described itself as "modern style death metal." Band members said Turner was kicked out when after he was charged with the crimes.

In Aeternum Splits With Agonia Records
Swedish death/black metallers IN AETERNUM have parted ways with Agonia Records. The band's official statement on the matter reads as follows:
"IN AETERNUM would hereby like to declare that we have decided to leave the record label Agonia Records for good. We had to make this decision to take a step forward, as the label has lied and treated the band extremely bad during the last couple of years. Especially since the release of the latest album, 'Dawn Of A New Aeon'. Mr. Filip Jesion of Agonia Records has been sending us selling statements more than once, but he hasn't been sending us any cash at all. He just keep informing us that he will do it next week, then it's the week after and then the week after that etc. All this has so far taken 18 months and we are still counting. The label managed to send us a box with 50 'Dawn Of A New Aeon' CDs, though, but they were all more or less scratched and damaged, so they were useless to us anyway in the end. We don't accept this kind of behaviour from anyone that we do business with, it's just basic fact. We could easily reveal more details regarding all this, but we are not interested to act like fools. Anyone can understand that Agonia Records has not fullfilled the signed agreement between the band and the label, so it's also obvious for IN AETERNUM to leave the label before a certain bloodshed would happen."

Mourning Beloveth Part Ways With Bassist
Irish doom titans MOURNING BELOVETH have parted ways with bassist Adrian Butler. Adrian's official statement on the matter reads as follows:
"I am no longer part of the doom troupe that are MOURNING BELOVETH. I was talking to Darren [Moore, vocals] last weekend and the band are going to continue with current session bassist Brendan Roche and make him a permanent member of MB. I moved to Spain in Oct '05 and the fact of not being able to be present for weekly practice has been very tough and impossible for us to keep up the long distance relationship so to speak. I've been leaving since last year in a way but making this final decision is tough but better off for both parties. I can say though that it's been a fabulous 10 years with MB. We've toured America, Europe a few times and recorded three great albums. We also played our first open air festivals this year so I am more than happy with what I was involved in and pleased to have been able to play a part in advancing the bands career since 1996 when I recorded their first demo with Alan from PRIMORDIAL. I will be helping out the band in the future in another capacity too so I won't be going away. My friends in MB will always remain so and we'll continue to insult each other, get drunk, fall down and have a laugh whenever its possible to get together. More...
Trail Of Tears Call It Quits

"It is with great regret that we announce that Jonathan [Perez; drums], Kjell [Hagen; bass], Runar [Hansen; guitar] and Kjetil [Nordhus; vocals] yesterday (November 28th, 2006) left TRAIL OF TEARS. The decision was taken with immediate effect, and thus the band does not longer excist. TRAIL OF TEARS will therefore have to cancel all forthcoming shows, including the X-mas [Festivals] tour dates in December, and we sincerely appologize for any inconvenience this might lead to. We would like to thank everybody that has supported the band from the start 10 years ago and of course especially our loyal fans all over the world. There was no longer the neccessary desire and energy left in the band to continue. And everything has an end." More...

Lee's Sexist Remarks Fuel Supernova Theorists
Conspiracy theorists who think 'Rock Star Supernova' had a winner selected before the show even began can point to Tommy Lee's comments in the December issue of Blender magazine. The Motley Crue and Supernova drummer initially commented on winner Lukas Rossi how he hoped the Canadian singer "adapts - some don't and they get this dreaded disease called LSD: Lead Singer Disease. They turn into fu**ing jerk-offs." Lee then raised eyebrows contemplating a band led by the show's runner-up, Dilana Robichaux. "Could you imagine a lead singer with the dreaded lead-singer disease and a girl who's on the rag," Lee asked. "Can you imagine?! I wonder which one's worse. That would be good, an egotistical female singer who's having a that-time-of-the-month-thing -- hah, that would be some fireworks. A reality show you could film only once a month."
