Embrace The End Loses Three Members

California's Embrace The End (Abacus Recordings) has officially confirmed the departure of three members, their vocalist, guitarist, and bassist. All three will play one final show with the group on November 22nd at the Boardwalk in Orangevale, CA. Here's a statement from the band:

"Unfortunately we are losing a few crucial players on team embrace the end. Patrick, Louie and Karl are no longer with us. After touring pretty much nonstop last year, we've spent the summer at home and some of us have decided to move on and pursue other endeavors. If you've seen us live over the last few months you've probably already noticed that our singer Patrick was missing. Patrick quit at the beginning of summer to focus on school and the production of his erotic aquatic spelunking series that should be dropping soon. He will also be following that up with a nationwide publicity tour on a track bike next year. We wish him godspeed and the best of luck. To make matters worse for our band, Louie and Karl have thrown in the towel as well. Louie has been with us since the conception of the band (over six years ago) so it's a big blow and he will be missed. Louie can be found on the block, danglin' fake mc's out of windows. Karl has also been with us for the past 2 years and has been through some silly and heavy shit. It won't be the same without him. Long live GUITARL! The rest of us will continue to work on our new album and are currently and actively seeking a new bassist and guitarist with righteous shreddery. The ideal candidate should have pro gear, be willing to tour, be able to learn by ear, write independent and innovative parts, relocate if necessary, and practice 2 to 3 times a week. Must also rage hard. If interested please be prepared to send video of yourself playing one of our songs. contact collapse.repeat@gmail.com. serious applicants only. If you don't think you can do it, don't waste our time."

Skitzo Signs To Open Grave Records

Open Grave Records has signed Skitzo. A notorious name amongst Bay Area Thrash / Crossover circles, SKITZO are renowned for their outrageous stage shows and publicity moves. His exploits have also been featured on ‘Ripley’s Believe It Or Not’. Onstage the band employs "Puke groupies" Octavia and Sunny Delight.

SKITZO has toured the world many times over sharing the stage with such impressive acts as The Mentors, Rob Zombie, Malevolent Creation, Acid bath, D.R.I., Forbidden, Angel Witch, Faith No More, Exodus, The Vandals, and Agnostic Front. SKITZO was even given the honour to play Sam Kinison's wake.

Now after 26 years, 16 albums, 68 band members and over 4000 shows, Open Grave Records will be releasing SKITZO's 17th CD titled "Five Point Containment" in the Spring of 2007.

The evening before leaving for their upcoming west coast tour with Faulter, Desole had their trailer broken into and all of their gear stolen. The band will carry on despite circumstances and will still continue the tour. The group has issued the following statement:

"This morning between 3:30am and 4:00am our trailer was broken into and all of our gear was stolen. To make maters worse we leave for tomorrow at 6:00am. The rad dudes in Faulter and a few other people have loaned us enough gear to be able to do the tour but we still have to replace all our gear and we are still in debt from when our van blew up. We hate to do this but if anyone can donate funds- even a dollar or two that would be a huge huge help. Just click here to find the link for donating to our Paypal account. Thank you for you love and support!"

Man Is Mostly Water Breaks Up

Following a hiatus of sorts, Texas metal band Man Is Mostly Water has officially called it quits. The band has issued the following statement:

"It has been decided that Man Is Mostly Water is no longer going to continue as a band. We really appreciate all the support we have gotten over the last three years, and are sorry to disappoint anyone who was looking foward to a full-length. Each of us are still going to stay active musically, though: Shane and Jared are both in Life-Death Continuum and Back Stabbath. Jared also plays for Trifle Tower, and various other studio projects. As for Scott and I [Andrew], we are about to start working on a new band. We have a drummer who is interested, but we are looking for a second guitarist. Any interested parties can email me at ham.mask@gmail.com for more details."

Darkest Hour To Enter Studio In February

Darkest Hour will head to Vancouver in February to begin recording their next album for Victory Records. As was the case with their previous album, Devin Townsend (Lamb Of God) will be producing. Here's a statement from guitarist Mike Schleibaum regarding the upcoming effort:

"You can expect a much more epic and sonically destructive evolution on the DH sound. We are taking what we learned and built with Undoing Ruin in a new and exciting direction. It will be a guitar heavy record and Kris and I are definitely looking to push both what we are capable of doing along with what this band is capable of doing. We want to make the record we think that we can't. We want there to be stuff on this record that makes us cry to play and also excited to pull off. We are looking forward to the challenge of following up Undoing Ruin and also the excitement of presenting some new songs both threw your stereo speakers and live as well."

The Red Baron Reforms, Writing New Material

Just months after disbanding, Floridian hardcore outfit The Red Baron has reformed. The group has released the following statement:

"Well after being broken up for four months, we have decided to write and record a full length album! After alot of prayer and thought we are coming back. We will not be touring full-time but we will be writing and recording an album and then hitting the road this summer. However, the full-length will not be put out by Hand of Hope. Due to past circumstances its just not a possibility. There is no bad blood, we thank Jerry and John for everything theyve done for us. We will be shopping for a new label, so keep us in your prayers. We have had some member changes and will keep you posted on the current roster as soon as some kinks are worked out. Since we broke up though we no longer have a van and so forth so we will be making merch soon and hope that you guys/gals would pick some up so we can save up to pick up a van to tour this summer."

Vader Gives Post European Blitzkrieg Tour Update

VADER's European Blitzkrieg 4 tour with GOD DETHRONED and SEVERE TORTURE officiall came to an end on November 9th in Eindhoven, Holland. The following update has been issued by the Vader camp:

"It's 60 day (!!!) of European Blitzkrieg 4 featuring Vader and support acts. Let's make a brief summary. After very intense Polish prologue panzermachine Vader supported by united forces of God Dethroned, Severe Torture and SARDONIC, GODDAMNED X and INACTIVE MESSIAH conquered Europe. The last gig of the European part of the tour took place in Eindhoven and was amazing. Btw, those forty gigs gathered over 12,000 people! The best turnout we had in Giebelstadt (520), Rennes (430), Sevilla (480), Sneek (400), London (430), Eindhoven (600). A few sold-out gigs, one cancelled (Le Harve), a lot of fun and great music, day by day! Hereby we would like to thank all fantastic maniacs that came to support us and the organizers who made a great job as well. A very special thanx goes to two great Dutch destroyers - God Dethroned and Severe Torture. You proved death metal is doing pretty well!

We're glad the tour went so great! Next European Blitzkrieg tour will take place in 2008!"

Immolation To Begin Recording "Any Day"

IMMOLATION is fine tuning the tracks for their new upcoming album. They will be entering the studio any day now to start work on their 7th full length CD.

According to a band update, the new material is very aggressive and much more intense than their past work. Songs are shorter, but pack more of a punch; definitely a darker, meaner album. The band is currently holed up at drummer Steve Shalaty’s house in Ohio prepping away. They will be making their way over to Millbrook, NY by the end of the week to meet up with Paul Orofino, the band’s producer for the last four records, at Millbrook Sound Studios.

“We are really excited about the new material. It is really a powerful bunch of songs. They kick you hard right from the start and leave you pummeled by the end!”, says Robert Vigna, one of the band’s original members since their inception. “I think the fans are going to go ape shit when they hear these tracks!”

“The new stuff definitely has a very dark feel, but does not let up on the heaviness or intensity at all”, says Ross Dolan, the band’s lead vocalist/bassist and other original Immolation veteran. “There is a hint of both the last two records, Unholy Cult and Harnessing Ruin, in the new songs, but they are coming from a completely different approach. They are going to knock you on your ass!”

“I’m just glad they gave me more than six days to get the new tracks down before we hit the studio!”, says Steve Shalaty, drummer extraordinaire, the calm playing tornado behind the kit.

Immolation will also be heading out to Amsterdam directly after the studio to play the Arnhem Metal Meeting Festival (on December 9th) with ARCH ENEMY, then they are off to Paris to shoot a new video for the upcoming album.

Listenable Records will be releasing an EP in February, Immolation’s first ever, that will also contain a live DVD, a complete show from one of the band’s most recent performances at BB Kings in New York City. The video was shot by Evil Eye Productions and really captures the feeling of the night. “The way they shot it was great, really cool angles and camera work,…you will feel like you’re in the front row!”

The new full length will be out in April through Century Media and Listenable Records in the US and Europe respectively. Look out for the band to hit Europe for a full length tour in May 2007. As well as some European summer festivals. US dates are sure to follow.
