The Number Twelve Looks Like You In Writing Mode
The Number Twelve Looks Like You recently posted an update stating that they've written five songs for a new record. The band feels as if they're "breaking new ground here" and may post a demo in the near future.
The new album will be the proper follow-up to last year's release Nuclear. Sad. Nuclear., though the band re-issued their 2003 debut Put On Your Rosy Glasses just last month through ECA.
Death Before Dishonor Posts Ecard Online
Bridge Nine Records have posted an e-card featuring Death Before Dishonor's forthcoming, re-mastered album Friends Family Forever. Along with the re-mastered tracks, the album also features six live songs recorded at CBGB's.
You can check out the e-card here.
Due Process to Release Formicide Discography
Due Process, a new label formed by webzine Aversionline, will be releasing the complete recordings of Boston-area thrash band Formicide. The band existed between 1987 and 1989 and members went on to form Only Living Witness. The band's material never received an official release at the time, so this is the first time this material will be available. You can check out a few samples here.
Label Founder and Iron Maiden Leave Sanctuary
Rod Smallwood, one of the founders of Sanctuary, has quit the music group and is taking its first major band Iron Maiden with him. Smallwood, known as The Sheriff of Huddersfield, founded Sanctuary in 1976 along with Andy Taylor and signed up the heavy metal band three years later. Since then the band has sold more than 70m albums, released 14 studio albums and four compilations.
Although the line-up has changed the band still tours and records. Its latest album, A Matter of Life and Death, was released in August.
Sanctuary, which was forced into a massive financial restructuring and management clearout at the start of the year, said it retained the rights of this album in the US and would continue to act for Iron Maiden on merchandising and live tours.
Smallwood will take over the management of the band through his new private company.
Taylor, who first worked with Smallwood organising student events in the late 1960s, was forced out of the business in May.
Sebastian Bach Comments On Chinese Democracy
The new Guns N' Roses album, Chinese Democracy, has received the seal of approval from former Skid Row man Sebastian Bach. And he knows a thing or two 'bout The Rock.
The long-awaited album, which must've been started back when Axl Rose looked like that, is out next month. Apparently. Bach heard the record from start to finish at Rose's mansion in Malibu.
"It's fucking epic," said Bach. "It was mind-blowing. It's a very cool album - it's badass with killer screams and killer guitar riffs, but it's got a totally modern sound.
"There's this one song called 'Sorry', that's almost like doom metal with Axl singing really clean over this grinding, slow beat that is fucking mean. I cannot get it out of my head."
The unofficial, not-yet-confirmed release date for Chinese Democracy is November 21.
Bloodlined Calligraphy Announces New Singer
Bloodlined Calligraphy has announced a replacement for singer Ally French, who left the band last month. Here's a statement from the group:
"We have a pretty big announcement to make. First off let me say thank you to eveyone that wrote us and asked to tryout and actually did tryout for the position of vocalist. I especially wanna send a big thanks out to Jeff and Birdmoney for holding it down on the Sworn Enemy tour. Without you guys we would have never been able to get through that week of shows.
Now on to the announcement. We are very happy to welcome Ellen Hoffman into the BLC family! Shes awesome and shes a perfect fit for BLC. We are gonna spend the next few weeks getting everything perfect and then we will have some very cool things to announce touring wise. So when we come to your town (which will be soon) show her some love!"

Nocturne Schedule First Show in Over A Year
Industrial-metal rockers Nocturne have just confirmed their first show in over a year, scheduled for November 11 at the Whisky in Hollywood.
Joining Nocturne’s Lacey Conner (vocalist) and Chris Telkes (guitar) for this exclusive performance is Sin from Revolting Cocks on bass and Adrian from Powerman 5000 on drums. Xeo3 are slotted as the headlining act and the mayhem begins at 10 pm sharp.
After several years of extensive touring, Nocturne took a break last year to pursue other musical projects; now, with vocalist Lacey Conner (ex-Pigface) newly re-located to Los Angeles from Dallas, TX, it seemed fitting to perform the first show of 2006 in her new hometown.
