Hidden In the Fog Replace Guitarist and Bassist
Germany's highly progressive black metal outfit HIDDEN IN THE FOG has parted ways with guitarist Gorbag and bassist Draug Carcharoth and has replaced them with Alexander F.J. Creuzfeld and Lothargie, respectively. Creuzfeld and Lothargie joined the band for last year's European tour with VITAL REMAINS and have now been named full-fledged members. "(They) proved ideal reinforcements both on and off stage, so we recently deciced to make them permanent members of HIDDEN IN THE FOG," the group said in a recent interview with HeavyMetal.no.
HIDDEN IN THE FOG's new album, "Damokles", was released last year through the German label Twilight. The band were hailed as one of the hottest German black metal newcomers in 2004 by both Metal Hammer and Rock Hard magazines after the release of their acclaimed "Abstract Maelstrom Paragon" mini-CD.

God Forbid Cancels Canadian Tour
God Forbid has cancelled their weeklong Canadian trek as direct support to Protest The Hero. Their only remaining show for 2006 will be a headlining performance in Levittown, NY at Club Ritual on Dec. 8th. God Forbid will return to the road in 2007 for the "Chains of Humanity" tour with Goatwhore, Mnemic, Arsis, The Human Abstract and Byzantine in the support slots.
Doc Coyle (guitars, vocals) states: "Due to an inability to come to an agreement over a discrepancy between the booking and announcing of a Toronto show on our on headline tour, God Forbid and Protest The Hero mutually decided it would be best if we didn't take part in the upcoming Canadian run. We are very disappointed that this couldn't be worked out, but we are still friends and fans of PTH and consider this just a postponement of future touring that I'm sure will be bigger and better. Again, we apologize to any Canadian fans who already bought tickets. We will be playing Toronto and Montreal as part of our headline tour with Goatwhore, Mnemic, Arsis, The Human Abstract and Byzantine, so we hope to see you all then."

Decrepit Birth Part w/ Guitarist Due To Charges
Santa Cruz, California-based death metallers DECREPIT BIRTH have recently parted ways with guitarist Mike Turner due to his arrest on charges of child molestation and sexual battery. According to a posting on the band's web site, "This will in NO way interfere with the new album. We will move on as a band, and all plans for recording the new album in early 2007 are still set." The band updated their MySpace with the following message:
"We feel that now is the time to come out publicly and let everyone know what happened in the situation of our ex-guitarist Mike Turner. Here is a bulletin from our local TV news station KSBW news:"
"SANTA CRUZ, Calif. -- A Soquel man has been arrested on charges of child molestation and sexual battery.
"Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office officials said Michael Turner was arrested Friday and booked into the county jail with bail set at $450,000. "
"Investigators said Turner recorded himself on video inappropriately touching at least two children and sexually touching an unconscious adult."
"Turner was also found to have hidden a camera in his bathroom, violating the privacy of several people, according to authorities."
"Sheriff's officials said the investigation into the case continues and that there are believed to be more victims."
"We are absolutely sickened at this, as we had no clue of the situation," the band continued in their posting. "This news has deeply troubled us over the past few days since we found out. We thought we knew Mike over the years but his deceptive ways just show us what a monster of a human he is, we trusted him and he violated people very close to us. We have no sympathy for him as we are all coping with the severity of this, it is hitting all of us on a deeply personal level. Our best wishes and prayers go out to the victims, and families that have been affected by this horrible crime. We will do all that we can to help the authorities press full charges against Mike, as we feel that he should receive the maximum penalty that the law will allow, even though that would never make up for what he did. We are asking that fans of Decrepit Birth give us their support and understanding, and to not hold us responsible for his actions. Mike is not an original member of the band, he joined a couple of years back and never contributed to the musical aspect, he was basically a live guitarist. This is the worst thing that has happened to us over the 10 years that Decrepit Birth has been a band. Our emotions are very twisted over this and all we can say is that we hope Mike Turner rots in prison forever."

Leatherwolf Part With Vocalist, Seek Replacement
Orange County metal stalwarts LEATHERWOLF are currently looking for a new vocalist following the departure Wade Black who fronted the band on their critically acclaimed comeback album, "World Asylum," released last June on N.I.L.8 Records.
"We would like to thank Wade for his contributions to LEATHERWOLF and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors," commented the group on the split. "There are no hard feelings between both parties. Unfortunately, certain economic realities and the geographical distance between Wade and the rest of the band turned out to be an obstacle too hard to overcome and made working as a unit that much more difficult."
"We are now looking for someone closer to home, perferably based right here in Southern California. Potential candidates must be able to sing both the Michael Olivieri and Wade Black era songs (guitar abilities a huge plus!), have a valid passport, and be able to go on the road as we have a European tour in the works for spring 2007."
Interested parties get in touch with the band via dean.rob_at_cox.net.

Guns Up! Calling It Quits
Massachusetts hardcore outfit Guns Up! has officially announced plans to disband in early-2007. Formed in 2002, the group has released material with 1917 Records and Rocket Punch Records. The following statement has been issued:
"Four and a half years; hundreds of shows, three US tours, three East Coast trips, a European tour, countless weekends, three records, who knows how many demos...four guitar players, three drummers, three bass players, two vans, at least a few grand worth of broken equipment, and about 12,458 shirt designs later... Guns Up! is done. In brief, we've accomplished everything we could have ever hoped for. It's been a wild ride. We would like to thank Sean Riley, Sean McKendry, Luke Dedeus, Steve Zuretti, Ryan Phillips, Justin Paling, Chucky Edge, James Vitalo, Michael Dolloff and anyone/everyone else as well as every band that's helped us along the way. Your support and encouragement has been invaluable."
In addition to several shows the band currently has scheduled, they will play two final West Coast shows, and one final East Coast show. Here are the tour dates:
1/12 Anaheim, CA @ Chain Reaction w/ Sinking Ships, Shipwreck, and Violation
1/13 Ventura, CA @ Alpine w/ Sinking Ships, Shipwreck, and Violation
2/3 Haverhill, MA @ Welfare Records w/ Have Heart, Verse, Shipwreck, Harder the Fight, and Resist
