Submissions are now closed for our ticket giveaway to see The Black Dahlia Murder at Revolution Live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, this Monday, October 13th. But you can still submit your full name (matching your ID) and the headlining band in the email subject to podcast@metalunderground.com if you’d like to win a ticket to Attila on Friday, November 14th at the same venue.
We kick off this week’s MetalUnderground.com Official Podcast with some more unsigned talent: traditional/power metal act Sacred Ash of Westchester, New York. Formed in 2012, the band released an EP last year titled “Beneath Blackened Skies.”
Following that, co-hosts Mike Smith (OverkillExposure) and Kevin Perez (n0thinghead) kick around some ideas and reactions to some buzz-worthy metal topics of the week. Are Swiss folk metal octet Eluveitie corporate sellouts for accepting a sponsorship from automaker Honda, or are they completely sensible, given today’s difficulties in sustaining a metal music career? Who or what was truly responsible for the demise of the previous incarnation of Sweden’s The Haunted? Is founding guitarist Patrik Jensen’s explanation a fair one? And speaking of fair, who really pulled the plug on a recently cancelled Behemoth concert on a Polish university campus? Another grave injustice, or more drama queendom from bandleader Nergal?
Tune in here to listen, and don’t forget to subscribe on iTunes or RSS feed. Enjoy!

Cloudkicker Announces Live Release
In early 2014 it was announced that enigmatic prog outfit Cloudkicker would tour North America with Intronaut. Message boards went crazy over this announcement, as Cloudkicker, aka Ben Sharp, had vowed the band would never play live.
The two bands piled into a van and every night played to an overzealous fanbase who knew they were experiencing a perhaps once in a lifetime opportunity.
For those unfortunate ones who missed a show, the band stopped off at Texas recording studio, The Fathom Tree, and played the set start to finish live and captured it all on tape. Century Media is proud to release "Cloudkicker - Live With Intronaut" from this recording session. The track listing is:
1. Subsume Part 1
2. Subsume Part 2
3. We are going to invert.../Here, wait a minute, damn it!
4. We're goin' in, we're going down.
5. Seriosity
6. You and yours
7. Dysphoria
8. Subsume Part 8
9. Push it way up!
The album will be in stores on November 24th. The CD version is available as a digipack and the vinyl comes in 4 colors limited to 1500 copies worldwide:
500 Black vinyl
450 Piss Yellow vinyl (US retail exclusive color)
350 Royal Blue with Sliver & Black Splatter

Wormwood: "I'd Rather Die"
Decibel Magazine is now hosting the newest single from the slow-motion facecrush that is Boston-based Wormwood's self-titled LP, set for release next week through Magic Bullet Records.
Check out "I'd Rather Die" in the player provided below. You can also hear the previously unleashed track "White Plague" at this location. The feel-good anthem of the day this is not, which the low-end demolishing power from the introductory seconds of "I'd Rather Die" make painfully obvious.
Magic Bullet will release "Wormwood" digitally this impending Tuesday, October 14th. On the same day, a CD run including a limited woven patch will be released by Patac Records. Negative Fun Records also just released a limited tape version for Cassette Store Day. More...

Meadows End To Release One Track Per Month
After releasing full-length album "The Sufferwell" earlier this year (listen to a track at this location), Sweden's Meadows End will be following in the footsteps of StarofAsh and releasing one track each month throughout the coming year.
The band comments: "So fellow fans and friends! Time for a little insight on the project we're currently working on!
"If everything goes as planned, the idea goes as follows - we have 12 songs that we've wanted to record for some time now and we feel that now is the perfect time to do so.
"The idea is to release one song on our YouTube channel each month during 2015, starting with January 31st. When the last song is released on December 31st, all will be released as a limited release album, all depending on demands of course.
"Things and plans might change during the course but we'll keep you updated all the time! Project name and content will be released in due time.
"And as if this was NOT ENOUGH! We have started working on new material as well and we already have basic ideas and structures for eight new songs and more will of course come! We will work on these songs in parallel and hopefully, HOPEFULLY, our next album might be out during 2016.
"Remember! You guys rule. It is because of you we aim to do this, let's just hope we are able to pull it off. \m/ Devilspeed and have a great weekend! Let's get to work!"

Inter Arma Streaming New EP
Richmond, VA genre-destroying metal outfit Inter Arma is streaming the entire 45+ minute, single song EP entitled "The Cavern" online. Hear it all via Pitchfork.com here.
Originally written during the summer of 2009, but reworked and perfected over the last few years, "The Cavern" was recorded last year during breaks from the relentless touring the band did with the likes of Baroness, Russian Circles, Ulcerate and numerous others.
The recording was captured with producer Mikey Allred at Dark Art Studios in Madison, TN, the same surroundings and setup that captured last year's monolithic "Sky Burial" LP.
The EP, which features guest vocals from Windhand’s Dorthia Cottrell, will see it’s official release in North America on October 14th via Relapse Records.
Additionally, the band has announced a short run of East Coast shows this October, including headlining the official MetalSucks / Metal Injection CMJ Showcase in Brooklyn, NY. The quintet has also confirmed a co-headlining European tour with German sludge duo Mantar this November through December. Dates are as follows: More...
Skinless Enters The Studio
New York's most brutal death metal maniacs from Skinless have entered the studio to record a new album.
After reforming in the Summer of 2013, Skinless is recording the band's first new album in over eight years. The group is preparing seven new destructive anthems at Edie Road Studios in Argyle, NY with engineer Tom Case and will then send it off for mixing to Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage, Primitive Man) and then mastering at Audio Siege Studios in Portland (Obituary, Nails).
The album is planned for a Spring 2015 release via Relapse Records with tentative song titles including "Serpenticide," "Skinless," and "The Beast Smells Blood." Artwork will be handled by Ken Sarafin.
Guitarist Noah Carpenter commented on the upcoming material: "Finally, for the first time since 2006, Skinless is in the studio hammering out a new album. We can't wait to get this out to the fans and hear some feedback. These songs have the Skinless heavy groove but we added guitar solos and some different elements to bring it to the next level. The album cover has just been finished and it's easily our best one yet. Lots more info coming in the next few months."
Voodoo Terror Tribe Releases New Music Video
Voodoo Terror Tribe released latest EP "A Walk in Hell" earlier this year, and today a video that the band has been working painstakingly on finally sees its world premiere.
The video for "BloodSoaked" can be seen below, thanks to Revolvermag.com. Voodoo Terror Tribe also comments:
"Our new music video for the song 'BloodSoaked' presents deliberate darkness and intensity. We meant it to be more serious and in-your-face than our previous works, as the song is our heaviest so far. So as for filming, we threw ourselves out of our East-Coast element and out into the dark-recesses of remote Ohio. Working with director Jeffrey Moore and Assistant Director Angel Alfonso of Axtravaganza Films was a welcome breath of professionalism, and the video shows it.
"'BloodSoaked' is our fastest and darkest song yet, and we wanted to present those ideas explicitly, with art and horror-flick-mysticism. We're proud of the amazing cast and the extraordinary work everyone committed in such a short amount of time. There is an interesting storyline to the film, that with multiple viewings one might discern, but even if you don't find the linear plot, the images and the atmosphere speak for themselves. Our dalliance with the horror film vibe and moderately authentic ritualism might have put the taste of blood in our mouths. There's no returning to the light after this, and everything only gets darker from here..."
You can also catch Voodoo Terror Tribe live on these dates:
10/17: Clifton, NJ @ Ding Batz (BloodSoaked music video screening show)
11/2: Long Branch, NJ @ Brighton Bar with Genitorturers
1/15/15: Hauppague, NY @ UpSky Long Island Hotel (New York Horror Convention) More...

Sahhr Streaming New Track
The blackened death strategists in Sahhr are pleased to wage auditory war today with "Miscreant."
A raw, nihilistic slab of cynicism and sacrilege, the tune comes courtesy of the band's forthcoming self-titled three-track EP, set for release this Halloween via Domestic Genocide Records. Listen in below, thanks to Metal Insider.
The EP was written by vocalist Ryllyeh and guitarist Aarsoth and recorded at Lot 54 Studio in Huntington Beach, California by Dylan-James Ehren Brock.
Comments frontman Ryllyeh of the"Miscreant" track: "The song is a perfect representation of our sound and encompasses all the twists and turns of our particular brand of black metal. The 'Miscreant' of which I speak represents all the bloodsucking pieces of human waste who have plagued this planet for centuries and who mistakenly believe that their 'god' can save them from themselves." Raven Announces Covers Album "Party Killers"
NWOBHM thrash godfathers Raven have recorded a full-length cover album entitled "Party Killers." The trio has been in heavy pre-production for an upcoming original studio album due in early 2015. Somehow amid the writing and rehearsal process, the band also found time and energy to record the cover album. Further details will be released in the coming days, but it has been revealed that the track-listing will include covers of "Ogre Battle" (Queen) and "In For the Kill" (Budgie).
Vocalist and bassist John Gallagher comments on the album: "We were writing for the new album at a cool studio in Richmond, VA, and in the middle of jamming asked the engineer there if we could record a few cover tunes just for the hell of it. The sounds were so good we decided to do something we'd been threatening for many years: 'Party Killers' - a collection of cover tunes guaranteed to deafen yer neighbors!! It's basically a peek into the little red 45rpm singles box we used to have at home...songs and bands that were very influential to us as kids, but given the Raven overhaul! I think it gives a nice insight to our roots and will be an excellent companion to the new album!"
Raven is currently in the midst of the "North American Extermination Tour" in the United States with support act Night Demon.

Sylosis Premieres "Mercy" Music Video
U.K.'s Sylosis recently announced "Dormant Heart" as the title of the fourth studio album, but despite the name, it’s not a peaceful album: It’s about a powerful force unleashing anger against everyday injustice and a sleeping society that lets these things wash over them. Today, the band dropped the new single and music video for the track "Mercy," which can be seen in the player below.
Commenting on the track, frontman Josh states: "Mercy is the first single off the new album. It's got a pretty dark and heavy vibe to it but it's one of the most melodic tracks on the album at the same time. It's got a big slow, doomy outro with an octave pedal on the guitars so that's going to rumble some guts live.
"For this video, we wanted to keep it dark and claustrophobic. It's got some of the artwork from the album and inlay illustrated as well which came together really well."
The band have also revealed the artwork for Dormant Heart, which can be seen below. The artwork was created by Bristol based artist Bonfire (Opeth, Satyricon, Kataonia), who has previously designed some t-shirts for the band. On the theme of the artwork, Josh comments: "The cover relates to sacrifice (the sacrificial lamb is more of a symbol than something to be taken literally) but also the looming, oppressing figure in the background represents corruption and being forced into something against your will."
The album was produced by Middleton with the help of engineer Scott Atkins and was mastered by TesseracT guitarist Acle Kahney.
Sylosis began tracking the new album back in March 2014, working away secretly alongside touring commitments. Drum tracks were recorded in May at Monkey Puzzle Studios by original drummer Rob Callard, who parted ways with the band last month due to time restraints. After filling in for some live shows during Sylosis’ Spring 2014 tour, Bleed From Within’s drummer Ali Richardson is now a permanent member of the band.
