AmericanAftermath.net just dispatched a stream of "Those Who Labor," the next to last of fourteen relentless tracks encapsulated on the self-titled debut LP from Danish extreme grind executioners, Piss Vortex.
Listen to "Those Who Labor" below, and you can also hear the previously posted track "Of Bodily Waste and Desire" over at this location.
The Copenhagen band's sound can be described as an abrasive amalgamation of the blast beat driven fury of old-school grindcore, the filthy twang of noise rock, and the mind-bending intricacy of the chaotic late '90s/early '00s metalcore/hardcore scene.
Indisciplinarian will release "Piss Vortex" on November 3rd, 2014. The album will be released as a 12" LP in two editions, 350 black and 150 piss yellow, and will also be available digitally worldwide on all relevant online platforms. More...
Canadian death metal outfit Accursed Spawn has released a webisode from the drum recording sessions for upcoming EP, "Putrid," which can be seen below.
Jay Cross (drums) commented on the video, “We had some footage laying around from the 'Putrid' drum recordings so Luke [vocals] and I decided to edit it together and post it up on YouTube. Half the material is the standard drum recording stuff, and the other half gives people a flavor for what recording with us is actually like. In other words, empty beer bottles and stupid jokes. We're a pretty deep band.”
The "Putrid" EP will be independently released on October 28th, marking the band's second EP since 2012's "Engendering a Sociopath." You can hear the song "Burned Into Sterility" at this location.
Accursed Spawn will be performing next at Montreal's Metal Academie on October 22nd, as well as the second installment of Ottawa's Extreme Halloween on November 1st. More...
Melbourne death metal band Whortetopsy has issued the following announcement about lineup changes:
"We regret to announce that Chris and Brent have parted ways with Whoretopsy. It was a mutual decision and we are eternally grateful for all the work they put in over the last 12 months. Whoretopsy will continue as a four piece with Jake Sproule joining us as drummer. Jake has proven himself as being more than capable as he previously filled in for two shows in September after only learning the set a few weeks earlier. New material is already well underway, and we are looking forward to touring nationally and internationally in 2015!
Chris had this to say: "I really appreciated getting the chance to slam with Whoretopsy, and go to a bunch of sick places an meet new peeps. Had some sick times. Will be a fan instead of a member"
Brent adds: "After severely damaging my ankle and shin in late April, I haven't been able to contribute to the band on the level that has been required. After 5 months on the sidelines, we've agreed it's best for Whoretopsy to carry on without me. I wish the boys the very best and am thankful for the support they've given me since I joined. I wish them the best of luck in the future."

Poey - Guitar
Storma - Vocals

Blood Harvest Records is proud to present Henosis' "Apotheosis Pulsio CLVI" for the first time on vinyl, set for international release on December 1st.
Released earlier this year on extremely limited-edition cassette, "Apotheosis Pulsio CLVI" is now seeing a double-7" pressing courtesy of Blood Harvest. The label comments:
"Their sound is a hideous and cavernous one, at once ancient yet never smacking of 'retro' retread. The five songs presented by these hooded demons here exhibit a keen understanding of what drove early Southern European black metal like Mystifier and Varathron into the catacombs of history, as well as the blackened death metal darkness of classicists like Necrovore and Sadistic Intent. Now, the crypt is open even wider, and thus emerges Henosis' Apotheosis Pulsio CLVI. Step inside..."

Corpse Flower Records and CV Books are pleased to join forces for the release of "Morbid Tales! An Illustrated Tribute To Celtic Frost," a mammoth 155-page comic with illustrations and illustrated anecdotes from a varied bunch of metal musicians/authors.
Edited by Mark Rudolph, who has crafted artwork for the likes of Carcass, Coalesce, Battlecross and more in addition to regular contributions to Decibel and Metal Hammer Magazines, "Morbid Tales!" serves as the follow-up to Rudolph's 2012-released "Satan Is Alive; A Tribute To Mercyful Fate" and is the second in a planned trilogy of metal-centric graphic novels.
Less a literal take on the subject matter than that of the Mercyful Fate book, "Morbid Tales!" delves into the world created from Frost's music rather than translating lyrics and boasts a list of work from the likes of Rudolph, Justin Bartlett, Jason McGregor, Bruno Guerriero, Lars Krantz, Chuck BB, Shawn Knight (Child Bite), J. Bennett (Ides Of Gemini), Eamon Espey, Ed Luce. Jeremy Baum, Johnny Ryan, Josh Bayer, Jacob Hamrick, J.T. Dockery, Kelly Larson, Kim Holm, Michael Hacker, Mike Erdody (Temple Of Void/Acid Witch), Slasher Dave (Acid Witch), Tim Shagrat (Acid Witch/Reaper/Shitfucker), Ravn (1349), Tom Neely, Sam Wolf, Tim Sievert, Mark Thompson, Scott Murphy, David Liljemark, Kevin Cross, Rob Mills and others.
Additionally, the book includes forewords from Tomas Lindberg (At The Gates) and Ivar Bjornson (Enslaved) with additional pieces from Joel Grind (Toxic Holocaust), Flo Swartz (Pyogenesis), Ben Ash (Carcass), Scott Kelly (Neurosis), Fenriz (Darkthrone), Dan Lilker (Brutal Truth), Jeff Wagner (author of Mean Deviation), Shane Embury (Napalm Death), Greg Macintosh (Paradise Lost), Trevor Peres (Obituary), Scott Carlson and Matt Olivo (Repulsion), Orvar Säfström (Nirvanna 2002), Attila Csihar (Mayhem), Chris Reifert (Autopsy) and John Paradiso (Evoken).

Hang The Bastard is set to release "Sex In The Seventh Circle" on October 14th in the U.S. and today the band has launched the second song, "The Majestic Gathering Of Goetia."
Check it out below, courtesy of Decibel Magazine. Century Media Records also comments on the album:
"Produced by Steve Sears at Titan Studios in London (Gallows) and with jaw dropping conceptual art from Daniel P Carter, Sex In The Seventh Circle promises to be Hang The Bastard's iron clad stamp on the worldwide heavy music scene.
"Dripping with acidic bile and fuzz fuelled venom, Hang The Bastard's latest creation is a lesson in blunt force trauma but also has a dynamic, more subtle streak of melody throughout. The result is a sonic union of the heaviest Doom, the most righteous Metal, and an undoubtedly old school vibe that is as much Sleep and Sabbath as it is Crowbar and COC."

"Half-Lit" was directed by Droga5’s Spencer LaVallee, who had this to say: "When I first heard Single Mothers, I was drawn to the way they contrasted these witty, sardonic lyrics against this blisteringly raw instrumentation.
"I wanted the video to embrace this duality, capture the humor and the aggression at the same time. Light and dark. The song's called Half-Lit, so why not light it halfway?" More...

Nuclear War Now! Productions has set October 31st as the international release date for Doombringer's "The Grand Sabbath." The artwork can be seen below, and Nuclear War Now! also had this to say:
"In recent years, Doombringer has been responsible for some of the darkest emanations from the bleak region of Poland. After several magnificent demos and 7” releases, Doombringer now unleashes its debut full-length, 'The Grand Sabbath.'
"This album is a triumphant exaltation of darkness. The band has spent considerable time arriving at this point, and their dedication is manifest. Doombringer imbue the cacophonous intensity of death metal with the unconstrained evil of black metal, exploring the nexus between the raw, oppressive darkness of Goatlord and the ecstatic and transcendent evil of bands like Varathron and Mortuary Drape.
"The high level of composition is immediately apparent, and against the backdrop of the band’s tremendous songwriting is a tendency to enhance their sound with unanticipated sonic and vocal flourishes that accentuate the unique character of the songs. As such, The Grand Sabbath is a manifesto of the future direction of black/death and is destined to expand and epitomize the perimeters of extremity inherent in both genres."

This October/November, metal icons Arch Enemy will be returning to North American soil to tour in support of the "War Eternal" album (reviewed here).
To celebrate this momentous headlining trek, the band will be releasing a split 7" with Kreator, who will be direct support on the run.

The track listing is as follows:
Side A (Arch Enemy)
1. Breaking The Law (Judas Priest cover)
Side B (Kreator)
1. Iron Destiny
Arch Enemy's Michael Amott (guitar) comments: "Super excited about the upcoming tours in Europe and USA with Kreator, and it's really cool to have this split vinyl 7" coming out to celebrate the extreme metal party of the year! Covering the Judas Priest classic 'Breaking The Law' is obviously not the most original idea, but this is a heavily rearranged version that sounds very Arch Enemy, and anyhow there's no denying that the mighty Priest is a great influence on Arch Enemy...Enjoy this unique and limited Kreator/Arch Enemy release and see you on the road!"
Kreator's Mille Petrozza (vocals, guitar) comments: "Finally, after all these years, Arch Enemy and Kreator not only tour together, but will also release a split single! I have always been a fan of this stuff since these are special little collector's items. We chose the song 'Iron Destiny' for this. Lyrically this is a tribute to the early days of the band, the days when we were young metal-heads, discovering the music that we still love to this day. Kreator is looking forward to this run and we hope to see all of you!" More...

"When the gods called for metal traditional and true, Visigoth answered. The year was 2010, and Jake Rogers allied his bardic magic with Lee Campana's six-string sorcery to forge a tribute to the old sound of heavy metal. Thus the demo 'Vengeance' was born. More...
