Putrid Offal Returns After 20 Years
You can't kill what's already dead... even if it's been rotting for 20 years!
French goregrind band Putrid Offal - active in the early '90s - is back and will be releasing both a new full-length and an EP.
The brand new full-length double CD "Mature Necropsy" is limited to 1000 copies and will feature two bonus cover tracks and a compilation of remastered '90s releases with special guest vocals by Stéphane Buriez (Loudblast) and Frédéric Blauwblomme (ex-Krhomadeath, ex-Corruption).
“Mature Necropsy” features a total of 15 tracks for more than 34 minutes of gory art mastered by El Mobo at the Conkrete Studio and marking the band's 25th anniversary. The album will drop February 10th.
“Premature Necrospy,” the bonus discography compilation / separate download, is a completely remastered collection of all of the band’s original material, including the 1991 “Unformed” demo, the 1991 “At the Stench of the Foul Offal” split with Agathocles, and Putrid Offal's part of the 1992 “Obscurum per Obscurius” compilation CD. Blastfest Announces Final Band Confirmations
The organizers of the Blastfest have checked in with the following announcement about final band confirmations:
"The lineup announcements had to come to an end eventually and Blastfest has now revealed the final three bands for the main lineup. But that’s not to say what you see on the burgeoning Blastfest poster is all that’s happening. No, no, no, there will be more!
"There’s already a lineup that would bring tears to the eyes of even the toughest metalhead with bands such as Demilich, Satyricon, Decapitated, Paradise Lost, At The Gates & Moonsorrow... and just last week a cruise up the Norwegian fjords with live bands was announced as part of the first days festivities. We still have to hear more… the clinics, the stand up comedy, the exhibitions, and lots more have yet to be revealed!
"For now, let’s leave this here… Sweden’s Uppsala upstarts, the black metal powerhouse, the entity of its own who released possibly their best work to date just last year with ‘The Hunt’, yes, the mighty Watain have been announced as another Blastfest 2015 headliner. The festival has also welcomed Austria’s sickest death metal export Schrinec Plays Pungent Stench and Bergens blackened deaththrash horde Grimfist." More...

Within Our Gates has checked in with the following statement about lineup changes:
"For those of you who missed our show at Backcountry Lounge, it was a very emotional one, and one that will go down in the books as one of our best ever.

Piss Vortex Streaming Full New Album
Now playing in its gut-wrenching entirety (hosted by the fine folks at Invisible Oranges) is the filthy self-titled debut LP from Copenhagen's Piss Vortex.
With twenty-three minutes of the band's destructive, modernized, and dissonance-fueled grindcore soaking the vile album, Piss Vortex's hectic tour de force in relentless creativity and off-the-wall musicianship here melds elements baring semblance at times to Antigama, Deadguy, Gorguts, Napalm Death, Discordance Axis, Rotten Sound and others.
The album was produced by Jakob Reichert Nielsen (Lack, Rising, Anti Ritual) and mastered by Brad Boatright (Integrity, High On Fire, Nails). Indisciplinarian will release Piss Vortex in one week, on November 3rd. You can also see the band live on these dates:

Angelus Apatrida Announces New Album
Spanish thrash band Angelus Apatrida is ready for a new attack and is currently finishing up the last details of an upcoming album coming out via Century Media Records.
The same creative staff that worked on the band's previous two studio recordings, "Clockwork" (2010) and "The Call" (2012), has teamed up again for this new effort, entitled "Hidden Evolution." The album was once again recorded in Moita, Portugal at Ultrasound Studio with producer Daniel Cardoso and will be released on January 19th in Europe and January 27th in North America (digital only).
Angelus Apatrida comments: "It's been the hardest recording work we ever done, but we couldn't be happier about how it sounds. Inspiration for the music in this album came from all the experiences we lived through on the road during the last two years and the result sounds more elaborated. There's some of the hardest and fastest stuff we ever done, but also some of the more melodic stuff we ever composed.
"Working with Daniel and the people from Ultrasound Studios has been killer as usual. Moita is a small, cozy and quiet town close to Lisbon, and it's been the third time we recorded there. Their narrow streets made of stone, the beautiful river and decadent squares feel like home; the perfect home for us, a place to get away from other things and fully concentrate."
The album's track listing is as follows:
1. Immortal
2. First World Of Terror
3. Architects
4. Tug Of War
5. Serpents On Parade
6. Wanderers Forever
7. End Man
8. Speed Of Light
9. I Owe You Nothing

Sick Of It All released latest album "Last Act Of Defiance" last month, and now the band has released a video for the song "Road Less Traveled." Check out the video below, thanks to New Noise Magazine.
Sick Of It All comments: "We are very excited to premiere the first video from our new album, Last Act Of Defiance. In 'Road Less Traveled,' we talk about our journey in music & life. There's no better way to celebrate this journey than with a bunch of our friends and to shoot a fun video that documents yet another day for us 4 guys being blessed to be part of a great scene. Drew Stone came out of retirement, stepped it up and directed the video, which captured the true essence behind us as a band. We hope you all enjoy it as much as we do! Hardcore is our life!!!"
"It's a real throwback to the golden age of music videos" said Stone. "The video is shot in one take with no camera movement; everything happens right into the camera lens. GWAR Butchers An '80s Anthem
For the third year in a row, your lords and masters from GWAR return to The A.V. Club to take part in the A.V. Undercover series, featuring artists covering other artists' music.
GWAR's first offering tackled the Kansas classic "Carry on Wayward Son" - which was voted favorite performance of the year, to no surprise of GWAR. After a year of celebrating the victory, the group returned to defend the crown with its unique spin on Billy Ocean's "Get Out of My Dreams, Get Into My Car." The result? Back-to-back favorite performance titles.
GWAR has now returned for a third time to The A.V. Club. With new Scumdog warriors Blóthar and Vulvatron by its side, GWAR takes on the Pet Shop Boys classic "West End Girls" in what is no doubt the most head-scratching followed by headbanging cover yet. Listen in at this location.
A.V. Club VP Josh Modell had the following to say about GWAR's return visit: "GWAR once again descended on The A.V. Club office unannounced, demanding to play a song. They threatened to eat our children and drink all our booze--and then made good on that threat."

Deathbreed Signs With Rogue Records
Rogue Records America is pleased to announce the signing of Deathbreed to a three record deal while the band hits the road to promote upcoming album "New World Order." The label states:
"On first listen you understand just how serious Deathbreed are about making a name for themselves. The music is punishing, unrelenting and at times chaotic. Upon continued listening, you also come to realize that this band will emerge on the scene as a juggernaut for death metal. Deathbreed takes inspiration from bands like Behemoth, Bloodbath, Aeon, Soreption, As You Drown and more, but pave their own path amongst the Swedish death metal genre."
Rogue Records America co-owner Dean Martinetti states, “I heard one song off a live video, saw how they were live and how tight they were and also saw how rabid the people at the show were… then I heard the new album… and I said to Raymond Herrera (my biz partner)…we have to sign these guys like TODAY!”
Deathbreed's new album "New World Order" will be released January 30th, 2015 in a digipak CD format with six-page booklet.
The band had this to say about the signing: “It feels great to become one of the family at Rogue Records America! Having a proper record label that supports you as a hard working artist the way Rogue Records America does is hard to find in today's industry. We feel great potential in signing with these guys and we are here to bring up the amount of blast beats coming out from the label! We are stoked for the future and can't wait to release this debut full length album! Fuck yeah!” More...
Decapitated Discusses Latest Van Crash
Decapitated singer Rafal "Rasta" Piotrowski talked to the MetalSucks podcast at Housecore Horror Film Festival this weekend, just one day after the band was involved in another van accident.
In 2007, Decapitated was in a tragic tour bus accident, claiming the life of drummer Witold “Vitek” Kieltyka and leaving vocalist Adrian “Covan” Kowanek with limb paralysis.
New vocalist Rafal stated: “I’m used to it because a couple of years ago, like three years ago, we had a [plane] landing without wheels. This band is professional at accidents. We try to make jokes about it.”

Infra Signs With Nuclear War Now
2015 increasingly promises to be another prolific year, as Nuclear War Now! proudly announces the signing of Infra, the second in a recent series of auspicious additions to its roster. The label comments:
"As natives of Portuguese soil, the members of Infra had previously corrupted the outermost reaches of the Iberian Peninsula with their sonic atrocities for years, albeit in other separate deployments and under different guises.
"Now, for the first time, its members have conspired as this singular unit to record Initiation on the Ordeals of Lower Vibrations, a 7” EP to be released on January 15th, 2015 via Nuclear War Now! At its onset, with ominously tolling bells, this recording beckons the listener to enter its halls of impurity and worship the bleak soundscape of death metal that ensues.
"As uneasy as one may be to accept this invitation, the urge is not likely to be quelled and is soon rewarded in kind. With its combination of adept tempo changes and prominent low-end growl, Infra's Initiation on the Ordeals of Lower Vibrations masterfully weaves a tapestry that repeatedly and mercilessly tiptoes back and forth across the fine boundary between disorientation and satiation, confusion and bliss.
"After only just over 12 minutes of music, the listener is likely to find oneself straddling this very boundary, eagerly awaiting whatever is to come next."
The track listing is as follows:
1. Communion
2. Perversion of Sulphur More...

Snowy Shaw Talks About His 25 Year Career
From a non-musician viewpoint, its difficult to comprehend just how hard it is to play one single instrument. For some of the more gifted musicians, they play them all. Enter Snowy Shaw, who early on in his career was best known as the blonde beast behind the drum kit for King Diamond and Mercyful Fate.
However, he is more than just a drummer....Snowy can out play so many other on guitar, bass, and even vocals. Having played with many bands (notably: King Diamond, Mercyful Fate, Notre Dame, Opera Diabolicus, Memento Mori, Dream Evil, Illwill, and more recently Mad Architect and his solo band) Shaw is a master of both music and the visual arts.
Earlier this year, Snowy celebrated his 25 year career with the release of new DVD/CD "The Liveshow: 25 Years of Madness in the Name of Metal." The DVD is a combination of material recorded in 2011 and 2012 with a myriad of guest stars to complement his solo band. In it, Snowy does it all with all the visual creepiness of an old time horror flick.
The musician....the artist....the animal activist - Snowy Shaw has never been shy about how he feels. He sat down with Metal Underground.com to talk about his stellar career and his forecast for the future. More...
