Apparently that huge Moonsorrow LP box set has caused Blood Music a good deal of trouble with orders placed via Paypal. The label had this to say about the situation:
"People - we need your help!! We have a very, VERY serious issue. We are having and have been having massive issues with PayPal for a long time, and it's finally hit its worst possible point. We've tried to stay very quiet about these issues, to keep calm in order to play by their rules, but things are finally far out of hand.
"Once the Moonsorrow box set (an item that averaged around 300 EUR per unit) went for sale - they froze all money in our PayPal account (do the math), including a fair chunk of money from sales before the box set that have long since been shipped out.
"They demanded loads of paperwork, to which we obliged, and they released a very small portion so that we could continue our operations. That money lasted only a very short time, and we wound up having to pay a huge chunk of the box set out of our own pockets, with the promise that the rest of the money would be released once all material was shipped.
"All box sets have been shipped and most have been received by now, and they are still holding onto basically ALL OF THE LABEL'S MONEY NOW. More...

Between the Buried and Me vocalist/keyboardist Tommy Rogers is set to release his second solo album on Metal Blade Records.
The new album, which will again be released under the Thomas Giles moniker, is entitled “Modern Noise.” You can hear the new song "Mutilated World" below, and pre-orders are now available at this location. The following press release was also issued about the album:
"Testing the limits of what he can do naturally with his voice, Rogers' strikingly beautiful falsetto and dynamic range conjures tales of anxiety, collapse, end-times and strength against swelling, heart-lifting arrangements and pristine backdrops of ambient loops, digital burbles, analog hiss and woozy drones. Exploring combinations of the outré genres of both post-rock and electronic, the music's emotionally resonant yet textural sounds draw reference to artists such as Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, the Verve, Beck, Oasis and Spiritualized, balancing both rock and electronic impulses.
"Though Rogers is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist (he recorded most everything himself on the previous album), for this new album he enlisted the talents of a former band mate. Fans will surely recognize percussionist Will Goodyear, who performed drums on 'Modern Noise.' Goodyear, who is currently in Grohg, previously played with Tommy on the self-titled Between the Buried and Me album, as well as their previous band, Prayer for Cleansing. The two have a natural synergy, and that was only enhanced while working with longtime Between the Buried and Me producer, Jamie King, at The Basement Studios in North Carolina." More...

In the clip below, Terror provides a one-of-a-kind animated experience, navigating the dark circumstances we face and finding solace in music. Frontman Scott Vogel offered:
“How many times can you make a video of us jumping around acting all mad at the world? I'm sure we’ll have a few more of those down the road, but this is a totally different, unexpected, and a fresh look for a Terror video, and that's a cool thing.”
Vogel adds, “Thanks to Carlo Oppermann (Comeback Kid, Stick To Your Guns) and everyone behind putting this thing together because, to be honest, we got off extra easy and didn't have to do any of those really uncomfortable video shoots and nonsense. Plus, now we have a video with hookers, handfuls of pills, and dead rats in it.” More...

Sylosis will be releasing new album "Dormant Heart" at the beginning of next year, with front man Josh Middleton commenting the record is Sylosis' strongest work to date. He states:
“It's the most pissed-off, aggressive and intense album we've done, yet it still retains the epic, progressive and melodic side we're also known for. It's a very gloomy and atmospheric album. We've been through a lot as a band and individuals and we've made our darkest album to date.”
The band began tracking the album back in March 2014 working away secretly alongside touring commitments. Josh Middleton took a step up on this album producing it himself with the help of engineer Scott Atkins. The album was mastered by Tesseract guitarist Acle Kahney.
Josh says of the recording process: “It was great doing some of the recording with Scott again. We've got a good working relationship and he's really dedicated to what he does. We like to strive for a very earthy and organic sound. It adds to the human element and brings out the intensity and vibe in the music.”
Guitars and vocals were recorded at Wizard Sound Studios in the band’s hometown of Reading. Drums were recorded in May at Monkey Puzzle Studios by original drummer Rob Callard, who parted ways with Sylosis in September due to time restraints. Bleed From Within's Ali Richardson is now drumming for the band permanently after filling in for some live shows on the bands spring 2014 tour.
Despite the title, "Dormant Heart," is not a peaceful album, it’s a powerful force, unleashing anger against every day injustice and a sleeping society that lets these things wash over them. Frontman Josh Middleton explains: “The title refers to people going through life on autopilot and being one of the herd. How a lot of people simply accept the way things are just because it's 'tradition' as opposed to taking a good look at the world around you and thinking for yourself. Sometimes there are catalysts that happen and change our perspective or consciousness…” More...

Within The Ruins has debuted a brand new music video for latest single "Calling Card," which can be seen below thanks to BloodyDisgusting.com.
Directed by long time veteran director Kevin J. Custer, the video is a drastic departure from what most metal videos look like these days. "This is a perfect representation of the concept of our new album Phenomena," says vocalist Tim Goergen.
The video depicts Goergen as the main character in a comic book, a running theme throughout the band's latest release. He continues, "Comics and metal go hand in hand and we are beyond stoked on how this video came out! Definitely the most fun we've had on set for a music video."
Fall is officially here, and that means it's time for metal to start bringing the gloom! Your first thought might be atmospheric black metal, but that's not the direction we're going today, as Northern Crown shows that music can be gloomy and still have great licks and discernible vocals.
The newly formed doom outfit pays homage to those who have come before in approach to riffs, organ use, and pacing, but doesn't let the old school ways of doom define it.
“...Doom, specifically, is about alienation,” main songwriter and guitarist Zachary Randall explains. If other acts can be said to be the trees of the forest, Northern Crown is the velvet fog unfurling through them.
Today you can experience that sense of alienation, as we have teamed up with the band to stream all the tracks from new EP "In The Hands Of The Betrayer." The EP is officially due out October 14th, but you can now check out all the songs below - including the band's cover of the Candlemass track "Crystal Ball."
Randall notes that, “this is easily the most personal art I've ever created...both musically
and lyrically.” Listen in below and let us know what you think of the release! For more information on the band, head over to the Northern Crown website here. More...

Mindwars released further details for the upcoming debut release "The Enemy Within." The album is now set to drop on October 27th via Punishment 18 Records. The album's track listing can be found below.
Mindwars was created in the Fall of 2013 by the desire of two individuals who wanted to bring the sound of metal from the 1980's to the current power of 2014. Mike Alvord, formerly of Holy Terror, and Roby Vitari, formerly of Jester Beast, met by chance in 1989 when Holy Terror was touring Europe in support of the classic 1988 release "Mind Wars." Roby, originally from Southern Italy in the region of Calabria, discovered that he had similar roots as Mike, being that his grandparents are from the same region. Approximately 25 years later, Mike and Roby reconnected through the internet and discussed creating something musically that they both believe has been lost. The result is Mindwars, an 80s rebirth of speed/thrash metal with influences ranging from Black Sabbath to NWOBHM to Soundgarden.

After a period of silence since releasing details on the sophomore album "Fated to Burn," Texas' Darkology released both a statement on the album's delay as well as announced that vocalist Kelly Sundown Carpenter will not be able to accompany the band on the upcoming European tour with Overkill, Prong and Enforcer.
As to the album delays, the band posted: "This comes from PRIME EON MEDIA: People. We know that you've been complaining about the lack of updates and we are extremely sorry about that, but the news we are about to unveil through an imminent press release, will probably put a lot of things into 'some' perspective. There will be a clue about the album which is obviously coming out. It was never our intention to delay it, (why would we?), although, we managed to do a hell of a job at just that. We understand your frustration, but by being impolite or just taking it out on us, it's not going to help at all. We hope that most of you should be able to come and check the band out live, throughout Europe, in support of the great lineup of bands that Killfest 2014 brings together, namely the Kings of Thrash, Overkill themselves, the masters of groove, Prong, the young pretenders to the throne of trad metal, Enforcer and you know who...."
In addition, the band issued a statement over the past weekend about vocalist Kelly Sundown Carpenter and his unavailability for the upcoming Killfest Tour: More...

Legendary hard rock act Whitesnake released the first trailer for the upcoming new DVD/CD "Live in '84 - Back to the Bone." The performance was captured from Super Rock Japan '84, which features the final performance by the late Deep Purple keyboardist Jon Lord with Whitesnake. Frontiers Records will release the package on November 7th (EU), November 10th (UK) and November 11th (North America).
Vocalist David Coverdale had this to say about the release: "2014 is the 30th Anniversary of the Whitesnake album ‘SLIDE IT IN’. The first multi-platinum album Whitesnake achieved. It features songs we still play all over the World...‘Love Ain’t No Stranger’ ( Cozy Powell’s favorite )...‘Guilty Of Love’...‘Slow & Easy’...& of course ‘Slide It In’.
"This ‘LIVE IN 84...Back To The Bone’ DVD-CD package features video footage & selected bootleg audio tracks, all taken from performances from our world tour 30 years ago in 1984.
"It’s still hard for me to find the words when remembering that half the incredible band who recorded the ‘SLIDE IT IN’ album with me have passed away.
"Incredibly difficult to articulate... Cozy Powell...Mel Galley...Jon Lord...Amazing people...amazing musicians...Their memories live on in our hearts & in the music they made. I miss them beyond words…
"Wait until you see & hear them playing as only they can & add in the fiery guitar assault of the incredibly gifted John Sykes...plus the relentless melodic bass pounding of Neil Murray…
"Watching the videos & listening to the live performances takes me right back to the time I was on stage with this super group...
"For this is a time capsule to indulge in, even if you missed the action the first time around & if you did catch any of the shows back in the day, you can relive it now in all it’s sonic glory.
"A truly great chapter of the band... One of my all time favorite chapters of Whitesnake.
"My Co-Producer Michael McIntyre & I searched the world for decent video footage & audio from any of the 1984 shows & came up with ‘Super-Rock’, recorded at the first Japanese rock festival at Seibu Stadium in Tokyo & a precious, invaluable video of Maestro Jon Lord’s final appearance with Whitesnake.
"All of the features on this package have been treated lovingly & respectfully, with no expense spared, utilizing technology to improve sound & picture quality. In other words, it should look & sound f’ing great!!
"Some of the Special Features include never before seen or heard tracks, demos, photos...
"These are memories I treasure & delight in sharing with you as we continue our Celebration of the 30th Anniversary of WHITESNAKE ‘SLIDE IT IN’..."
