The video was shot and edited by Jens De Vos and his team at Panda Productions. The show was recorded by Ace Zec and mixed by Epica producer Joost Van Der Broek.

Night Viper Brings Down "The Hammer"
The heavy metal warlords from Night Viper today premiere new track "The Hammer" online. The track hails from the band's self-titled debut album, set for international release on December 4, 2015 via Svart Records.
Plans are already underway for European tours and festival appearances throughout 2016, but in the meantime, hear the sound of "The Hammer" below.
"We love it," says guitarist Tom Sutton of the album. "We recorded all the basic tracks live together, and I think you can really hear the excitement in the room. It's very organic-sounding, and will remind people of the heavy metal classics they love, while still being very current and very unique. It's not a tribute to any era in any way. There's elements of 'Kill 'em All' era Metallica, Judas Priest, Entombed, and the more metal side of Motörhead, along with some Pentagram or Coven-type spookiness.
"This is just a pure and honest representation of how we sound. Each song really has its own personality, and the melodies are super-catchy. The differences in style and influences between the two guitarists, Emil and I, give the album a lot of texture, I think. If there's a solo that sounds like cat with its tail on fire, that's me, and if there's something with a beautiful twirling melody to it, that's probably Emil. Ruben sounds totally thumping on bass, and Jonna plays with a swing that isn't heard in metal much these days. And for those who haven't heard Sofie Lee sing yet, you really are in for a treat. We can't wait for people to hear it. There will be bangovers!"

Ne Obliviscaris Posts Bass Playthrough
Brendan "Cygnus" Brown, bassist of the Australian progressive metal visionaries Ne Obliviscaris, is streaming a playthrough video of the track "Painters of the Tempest (Part II) Triptych Lux." Regarding the video, Brendan comments:
"I have had many requests to do a play through of this song. It's the most challenging song for me. Given it's length, dynamics and attention to detail. The track was recorded straight from AXE FX into protools 8. Sony HDR-CX130 camera linked up in Sony Vegas 11. So hard to line up perfectly. Sorry for the minuscule delay!"
"Painters of the Tempest (Part II) Triptych Lux" comes off the "Citadel" album (reviewed here), released last year. More...
Prime Meridian Streams New Single
Famined Records’ artist Prime Meridian is now streaming the first single off the band's forthcoming self-titled album.
The single, which is entitled “Indian,” and can be heard below. "Prime Meridian" follows the group's 2013 album "Dialogues" and will drop December 11, 2015. Vocalist Shae Portner had this to say on the release:
“Our new album is about an individual who is suffering from an immense case of depression. Every night he has a dream where he finally ends it by his own hands. These dreams seem almost too real, like an out of body experience, for the individual. Although he is not afraid of death, he is most afraid of how it will affect the ones he loves. As he delves deeper into his own madness, he often wonders if the people he loves, in return, love him back. This causes a regressive form of hate where these thoughts almost become a new obsession. This album is a narrative of his out of body experiences, his thoughts, and his proposed thoughts of those who loved him.”

Sonic Medusa Releasing "Sunset ShoundHouse Tapes"
Formed in 2009, LA group Sonic Medusa – featuring members of Goatsnake, The Obsessed, Hollywood Rose and Angus Khan – has already drawn comparisons with the likes of Black Sabbath, Pentagram, Alice Cooper and a whole host of other, celebrated groups of the era.
With debut EP "The Sunset SoundHouse Tapes" officially released this December on Ripple Music, the band digs its heavy heels in deep, integrating the powerful influence of late 70s/early 80s NWOBHM via twin guitar assaults and rhythms reminiscent of Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest and early Iron Maiden.
Brought out of semi-retirement by the lure of making music with Sonic Medusa, Greg Rogers joins fellow Goatsnake band mate Scott "The Low-End Lumberjack" Renner. Described by all he meets as a 6’4, walking wall of sound, Renner also served time in numerous outfits as bassist for sludge/doom band Sourvein and North Carolina post punkers Brickbat.
Leading the charge up front for the Californian quartet is new singer/guitarist Dirty D – former front man of the notorious LA punk rock band B-Movie Rats, and later, the pyrotechnic Angus Khan – and fellow guitarist, Steven Darrow. Darrow, who earned his spurs as a young Californian punk with The Decadents, Christian Death and Super Heroines went on to become bass player in the mid-80s for the Motörhead-meets-Nazareth inspired hard rock band Hollywood Rose… later known as Guns 'N' Roses.
With engineer David Schwerkolt at the board, "The Sunset SoundHouse Tapes" was recorded at Sunset Studios, Hollywood. The track listing is:
1. Medusa (4:01)
2. Goblin Suite (6:49)
3. Cold Wind (7:56)
4. Wolfs Prayer (7:01) More...

Huntress Comments On Breakup Rumors
Last night Huntress front woman Jill Janus posted a status update about her frustration with health issues and online trolls, leading several sites to prematurely report that Huntress had broken up. Guitarist Blake Meahl has now issued the following statement clarifying the situation:
"Our vocalist Jill Janus posted an announcement last night that she was having difficulty dealing with devastating health issues. Four months ago she had major surgery to remove cancer from her uterus.
"She needs time to fully recover from her hysterectomy and to continue treatment for her mental health issues. Her bouts with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and disassociative identity disorder have been particularly difficult lately and are ultimately responsible for her unfounded statement last night.
"We will resume touring in December when Huntress joins Black Label Society 12/26-12/31. Thank you for your kindness and understanding."
Jill Janus recently discussed her physical and mental health issues at length with Revolver, with excerpts from that interview available here. More...

Fashion Week Posts Bizarre Music Video
New York City's grimy noise/grunge metal trio Fashion Week just issued an ultra gnarly video for "Heroin Chic," culled from the "Prêt-à-Porter" debut LP. Check it out below.
Without blowing the lunatic plot of the video, it's safe to say that this violent visual depiction of Fashion Week's "Heroin Chic" deploys the track in a more ruthless way than one may envision when simply hearing the song. For a line of starlets-to-be, their most important tryout ever quickly becomes the end of the line, very literally, in the video, which was created in Russia, written and directed by Dmitry (Deems) Kopytin with director of photography Alexey Khruslov, and produced by Marina Shponko.

Interview With Farhad Hossain Of Shumaun
"Bridging the gap"....these words aren't usually associated with your typical straight up metal act. However, when it comes to genre defying acts like Northern Virginia's Shumaun those words ring true. With a style that lies between Rush, Symphony X and Tears for Fears - and all points in between - composer/guitarist/vocalist Farhad Hossain is out to win the hearts of pure music fans.
On November 13th, Shumaun issues a self-titled and self-funded release and one that hopes to grasp the attention of more than those just rooted in the metal scene. The band seeks to capture a whole new audience that simply loves good music and good song writing, bringing it back to intelligent hooks, fundamental principles and above all sophisticated musicianship. Kurt Ballou Hosting "Fix It In The Mix" Session
CreativeLive Music & Audio has announced its next live streaming audio production workshop, "Fix it in the Mix," to be hosted by Converge guitarist and Godcity Studios founder Kurt Ballou on November 24 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. PST / 12:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. EST.

Ballou will demonstrate how to think outside of the box to come up with creative solutions to audio restoration problems every engineer has faced. For more information and to enroll for "Fix it in the Mix" for free today, head over to this location.
"Obviously sample replacement of drums and re-amping of guitars can be effective ways to revive sub-par recordings, but they can also homogenize the uniqueness of the original tracks," commented Ballou. "In this class, I'll explore organic approaches to turn your tracks from trashy to classy."
Upcoming instructor, Kurt Ballou, is the brains behind Boston's Godcity Studios. One of the most prolific producers in metal/hardcore/punk, he's worked with a laundry list of bands including everyone from Champion and Have Heart to Kvelertak, Cave In, and Nails. More...
