Butcher Babies Posts "Igniter" Video

The Butcher Babies are back with their new, full-length offering, "Take It Like a Man," and the official video for "Igniter" also comes online today - check it out below.

New offering "Take It Like a Man" was recorded in the Hollywood Hills with producer Logan Mader. Butcher Babies will support the album by joining Amaranthe across North America for a new tour starting October 29, 2016.

Heidi Shepherd (vocals) states: "We've all been in that different state of consciousness where rage over takes over your body and mind. ‘Igniter' is about these emotions and about that last straw that breaks you. We were so lucky as to film this video during our live performance at The Download Festival, Metal Hammer Boat and The Metal Hammer Golden God Awards. As it shows our intense live energy on the stage, it also shows our goofy off stage personalities.”

Carla Harvey further adds: “'Igniter' is a song about the anger and frustration that we can let consume and even destroy us at times. When we first started butcher babies, I was in a much darker place and often let that rage overtake me, but after 6 years of having a healthy outlet for those feelings through our music, I'm a completely different person. I love that the video for igniter, shot while we toured the UK this summer, shows a juxtaposition of on stage rage and our off stage fun personalities. It speaks volumes to the release that music provides not only for the listener, but the creators." More...

Svart Crown Comments On Tour Cancellation

Remaining dates on the Marduk / Svart Crown tour have been cancelled, with Svart Crown having this to say about the situation:

"We are finally coming home. The last part of the Marduk Tour has been cancelled due to logisticals reasons explain below (see the Massive Music statement). From our part this is again a big disappointment. We are really frustrated to finish the Profane Tour with an other cancellation. It seems the curse is still there so we are going to take few weeks to thinks about the band future and will let you know soon as possible. The last think that we would like to share, is that we were really honored to share the stage with one the best black metal entity ever: Marduk. The first part of the tour was amazing , great crowd, good venue and good people. An eternal support to Massive Music (Mariusz, Marta, Darek), our crew Tryf & Max and all the band Cvinger, Bio Cancer and Crest Of Darkness."

Massive Music comments: "Dear friends, We are sorry to announce that due to the breakdown of the nightliner we are forced to cancel the 2nd part of Marduk tour. We were doing our best to fix it and play all shows, but we were unlucky with finding new nightliner in this short time. We are very sorry, because cancellation is always last choice and makes expenses for everybody - booking agency, bands and promoters. We'd like to postponed cancelled shows on Spring 2016."

Marduk also had this to say: "Unfortunately the Marduk tour bus has suffered a complete breakdown on the ongoing march throughout Europe. And despite the booking agency's attempts to solve the problem, including trying to rent a new bus through 9 different bus companies, none of them being able to supply a bus in time to make the rest of the tour happen, Massive Music and Marduk have decided to postpone the remaining dates to spring next year. This is totally out of the bands control, and at this point there is nothing more we can do. But... the dates will be rebooked and Marduk will return!" More...

Herder Kicked Off Stage For Being Too Loud

At the first edition of metal fest Krachtstroom, Herder was halfway through a set when the venue decided to stop the band from playing due to be "too loud" on stage.

The band, known for the phrase "Herder is harder!" plays an intense mix of sludge/doom metal. The audience needs to full on hear and feel the intensity of the band and therefor plays at maximum volume. Apparently the organizers and soundboard people of the festival couldn't appreciate this and (seriously!!) asked the drummer to "not hit his drums so hard."

The band was not pleased with the decision of the venue and after giving a few fingers to the sound guys, walked off stage and got immediately escorted out by 5 security guys to be told to "never ever set a foot again in the venue." More...

Anthrax Announces 30th Anniversary Release

On November 20, three decades after its October 30, 1985 debut, Universal will release a special 30th anniversary edition of Anthrax's classic "Spreading The Disease," the band's second studio album and the one that served as the then-budding thrash band's breakthrough.

"We wanted to do something special for our fans to celebrate the anniversary of 'Spreading the Disease,'" said Anthrax's Charlie Benante. "We took the idea to Universal a couple of years ago and have been very hands-on with them, creating this special, deluxe edition that we think our fans will really like."

In addition to the original album's nine tracks, the two-disc anniversary edition features previously unreleased bonus material including Joey Belladonna's 1984 demo recording of the song "Medusa," nine rhythm tracks from Anthrax recordings also done in 1984 - no vocals, no overdubs or sweetening, just drums, some guitar, a bit of bass, showing the songs in their naked, most basic form - and eight live songs from Anthrax's 1987, first-ever concert in Japan, held at Tokyo's Sun Plaza.

"'STD' was our first real record on a major label," said Benante. "We were on a roll with that album, and we wanted to perform those songs as close to the album versions as possible. I think the performances show the excitement of a young band that was on its way, so we wanted to have them on this reissue." More...

Rex Shachath Posts New Music Video

Having laid low since the end of 2014, just last month Northern Irish death metallers Rex Shachath suddenly announced their return with a brand new record, which will be out November 20 via French label Great Dane Records.

Entitled "Revocation Of The Blood Elect," this new EP might not be what people are expecting if they're familiar with the band's debut offering "Sepulchral Torment." Since that release the band has had time to coalesce and where "Sepulchral Torment" had more of an old school sound, "Revocation Of The Blood Elect" is an entirely new animal, tackling social issues such as the state of modern society and man's exorbitant desire for wealth at the expense of our natural world.

Now we can unveil the first taste of what to expect from the EP as the band unleashes a brand new music video for the title track. Vocalist Dave Connolly comments:

“This song sees those in positions of power overthrown and put to the sword by man who has endured the oppression of those who would see humanity and the natural world struggle beneath them while they profit from the destruction of man and the earth.” More...
