Finsterforst Parts With Accordion Player

Germany's Finsterforst has checked in with the following announcement about parting ways with accordion player / clean vocalist Johannes Joseph:

"Sad news... today is a sad day for Finsterforst, as we have to inform you that Hannes will leave the band following our last Raunächte Tour gig in Berlin. Hannes wants to proceed with other things in his life and wouldn't be able to find the time and right motivation to go on as a full time member of Finsterforst. While we are sad he's leaving, we also deeply respect his decision to make a clear cut before our friendship might suffer from problems that would definitely arise with one member of the band not being fully committed to it.

"Hannes has been an integral part of the band from the start and of course his accordion and singing are somewhat trademarks in the Finsterforst sound. Though he won't be part of every day band life, we will still put his skill to use when it comes to recording new stuff, so you can rest assured people, we aren't going to change our ways in terms of sound, we'll just have to deliver live without him.

"We are looking forward to making the last gigs with Hannes aboard memorable ones and we hope that you, our beloved fans, will find the time to give Hannes the send-off he's deserving for his commitment and sacrifices over the years. More...

Lamb Of God Drops Off Tour Due To Terror Concerns

Update: Randy Blythe has now posted a very lengthy statement online explaining the band's reasoning behind dropping off the tour. You can read that article over here.

After the ISIS-led terrorist attacks in Paris last week, Lamb Of God has decided to drop off all remaining European tour dates with Children Of Bodom and Sylosis. The band comments:

"Due to concerns brought to our attention by the venue security team yesterday in Tilburg - and continued general concerns across Europe - we have decided against putting our fans, our crew and ourselves in this position night after night and will be canceling the remainder of our performances in Europe. This is a decision we are making on behalf of the fans, our crew, and our band, as well as the well-being of everyone's family, friends and loved ones at home. Stay safe, and we will see you very soon."

The tour will continue without Lamb Of God, however, with Children Of Bodom commenting: "Lamb of God has chosen to leave the European tour due to security concerns in Europe. Our team has been working very hard to make all of the remaining shows happen. WE WANT TO, AND HAVE DECIDED TO, CONTINUE ON THE ROAD AND PLAY THE REST OF THE TOUR. Sylosis also will be joining us on their scheduled appearances.

"Here is what we know so far. Unfortunately the promoter has decided to move forward and cancel tonight's show in Oberhausen, Germany, and the additional shows in Germany. At this time, the remaining schedule will move forward as this (we ARE looking to add more shows FYI). We WILL keep you updated as we have changes, and we are doing our best to keep you informed as quickly as possible on everything." More...

Reaping Asmodeia Signs With Prosthetic Records

Prosthetic Records has signed Minneapolis based tech-death metal band Reaping Asmodeia to the label's roster.

Formed in 2013 by former members of With Dead Hands Rising, Reaping Asmodeia self-released debut album, “Poison of the Earth,” a year later. The album was mixed and mastered by Zack Ohren (All Shall Perish, Suffocation), after which the band spent most of that year touring in support of the release with the likes of Abiotic, Beyond Creation, Boris The Blade and many more.

With the signing to Prosthetic and a new album planned for Summer 2016, expect Reaping Asmodeia's reach to expand worldwide. Drummer Daniel Koppy comments:

“We’re excited to have signed with Prosthetic Records. We have always wanted to work with like-minded people who believe in the vision that we have for Reaping Asmodeia. We feel like we have found that with the staff at Prosthetic Records. We are currently writing our debut for the label, which is proving to be our most challenging and intense material yet. We can’t wait to get the record out and get on the road to share it with everyone.” More...

Chthe'ilist Finishes Work On New Album

Canadian death metal band Chthe’ilist has completed work on debut full-length album “Le Dernier Crépuscule,” with the advance track "Voidspawn" now online and available below. Profound Lore Records also comments:

"Conjured in 2010 by the duo of vocalist/guitarist/bassist Philippe Tougas and drummer Philippe Boucher, Chthe'ilist’s intent was to play abhorred, morbid and dark atmospheric brutal technical death metal with over-the-top dual-harmonic guitar shredding.

"The result would be the 'Amechth’ntaas’m’rriachth' demo which was released in 2012 and caused quite the stir in the underground death metal scene. The band’s sound would ultimately reminisce the bizarre aura of such cult luminaries as Demilich (along with giving an overall nod to early ‘90s Finnish death metal, Demigod, Abhorrence, Xysma etc.), Timeghoul, Infester, and Adramelech all while creating a horrid and vile atmosphere of enveloping dread. Genocya Comments On Lack Of Activity

U.S. outfit Genocya has checked in with the following update about the band's lack of activity lately:

"For those wondering whats been going on with us lately, and why we had to drop off all of our December shows, here's the story: awhile back, we decided that not only was this group of guys the definitive/best line up we've ever had, but also the LAST line up we will ever have.

"Which means... no man gets left behind. We either move forward together, or we don't move forward. That being said, we have members that need to focus on work and their families right now. So for the time being, we are in a holding pattern. No shows in the near future. Even recording plans are on hold.

"We apologize to everyone that was looking forward to jamming with us or seeing us in December, but as we all know... life happens sometimes. Unfortunately, we are unable to give you a timeline right now, on how long we'll be in hibernation, but rest assured... we WILL be back!

"Thanks to everyone for sticking with us, all these years. You have definitely helped make our hobby/passion an extremely enjoyable one." More...

Entombed A.D. Announces New Album

In 2014, Entombed founding member L-G Petrov returned "Back To The Front" with the band's revitalized yet still lethal new incarnation Entombed A.D., which also consists of Nico Elgstrand (guitar), Victor Brandt (bass), and Olle Dahlstedt (drums).

Now 18 months later, fans worldwide can expect the follow-up record, entitled "Dead Dawn," set for international release via Century Media Records on February 26, 2016.

A first single will be released in mid-December and shortly before the album's release, the Entombed A.D. commandos will present new material alongside classic tracks on tour. Bassist Victor Brandt comments:

"We are really looking forward to get out of the studio and hit the road with our friends in Behemoth, Abbath, and Inquisition. It's a really cool package, every band is bringing their A game and I can promise you that you do not want to miss this. There's gonna be a few surprises on the setlist and we're hitting the stage as a five-piece. See you in the pit and/or at the bar! Cheers!"

Guitarist and co-producer Nico Elgstrand reveals the following regarding the recordings: "After festering an eon inside the belly of the beast, it finally disposed of us. I'm not gonna tell you out of which orifice we were spawned, but I will tell you it was demeaning in the true sense of the word. From this horrible experience came the urge to express ourselves through sound and so we did. Now, it's done and we can only look proudly back on what we have created: a damn sinister sounding record. You might not be able to comprehend it, but you won't be able to deny it either!" More...

Teloch Vovin Announces Mini-Release Series

Directly following the recently-unleashed "Further Down The Tunnel" EP, New York City-based back metal coven Teloch Vovin hereby declares several new recordings to see release over the next year, including an impending series of "Psalms Ov Khaos" mini-releases and a split LP with Grave Gnosis.

While the generally tormented death-influenced black arts of Teloch Vovin are intermittently interjected by more electronic/ambient instrumentation and occult ceremonial soundscapes, the prime directive of the "Psalms Ov Khaos" series is to first and foremost expand upon these elements with much more intensity in line with the purpose and theology of the band.

As with the "Further Down The Tunnel" EP, self-released on the Fall Equinox in September, the upcoming "Psalms Ov Khaos" recordings will be issued on the spring and fall Equinoxes and summer and winter Solstices, with the first installment, "Psalm Ov Khaos-Orobas Invocato," now confirmed to see release on the upcoming winter Solstice, December 21, 2015.

Teloch Vovin will also be joining forces with Florida black metal cult Grave Gnosis for a split 12" vinyl release to be unleashed sometime mid-2016, with additional recordings also in the works for next year. More...

AHTME Signs With Unique Leader

The Kansas City technical death metal strategists AHTME - formerly known as The Roman Holiday - are the latest addition to Unique Leader Records' expanding roster of brutality. Unique Leader will be reissuing the band's 2013-issued "The Demonization" debut in early 2016. The label also comments:

"Forged in 2005 in Kansas City, Missouri, the band brings a signature and unique sound to the table. Start with surgically precise but groove-infused guitar riffs, lay them atop a percussion section as sturdy as a field of steel girders and as intricate as a handmade Swiss grandfather clock, throw in a heaping helping of raw, violent vocal incursions, and you have yourself AHTME. Following a near three-year hiatus, AHTME, are indeed back with a proverbial vengeance."

Issues the band of this union with Unique Leader: "We are excited to announce that we have signed a deal with Unique Leader. We can't explain how awesome it is to be featured alongside all these incredible bands and such a talented roster of death metal musicians. Our first album as AHTME is fully written and we are VERY quickly making progress in hammering out every little detail. We can't wait to work with UL for these new releases and we hope to carve out a little home for ourselves here among all these other incredible artists! Thanks to everyone who has been a fan over the years and cheers to the future! Hail AHTME!"

Though the "The Demonization," recorded under the moniker The Roman Holiday, never had an official release, the forty-minute bruiser was well-received among their extensive local fan base and online community. Originally recorded with Navene Koperweis (Animosity, Animals As Leaders, Entheos) in San Francisco in 2009, the album is set to be reissued during the winter of 2016. Further info to be announced in the coming weeks. More...

Inverted Serenity Posts Lyric Video

Winnipeg, MB tech death metal band Inverted Serenity just posted a new lyric video for "Wrought (Rot)" in support of new album "Integral," released last month on October 9, 2015. The band comments:

"'Wrought' is a full speed track joining the noticeable aspects of tech-death, thrash, and black metal into a catchy and emotional fusion of music. The odd time signatures among certain parts of the song are able to remain at a patterning that does not sway away from an enjoyable flow.

"The chorus involves a chant back and forth between the screams of Tomas and Marco that is certainly one of our most impressive and brutal chorus structured vocal phrasings. The ending of the song drifts into a guitar interlude written and performed by Marco.

"The idea in the lyrics of this song is that the process of creation is also a direct means of destruction. Wrought is to self-create, as (rot) is to self-decimate. As we enter life in the physical world, we grow and create with one another and it can be a viciously difficult experience. Through the evolution of seeing the larger cycles and patterns in life, returning to the stillness of the omnipresent universal mind (death) from which we came (birth) is accepted as an inescapable truth. DevilDriver Announces New Album

California groove metal outfit DevilDriver recently completed work on a 7th studio album and follow-up to 2013 Napalm Records debut "Winter Kills."

"Trust No One" is set for a Friday May 13, 2016 release date via Napalm Records. The band has teamed up again with producer Mark Lewis from Audio Hammer Studios for the production of the album. Frontman Dez Fafara comments on the album:

"Almost 3 years in the making, get ready for a New Devildriver record! 'Trust No One' is filled with killer riffs, groove after groove and massive hooks! Regarding the title 'Trust No One,' it's rightly named and done so. There will be no explanation needed regarding what the title means. The lyrics are volatile and straight to the point! See you next year with 'Trust No One' and around the world on tour!"

Pre-orders will be available shortly. Touring plans for 2016 are being finalized now and dates will be announced soon. More...
