Whiskey Ritual Posts New Video

The black 'n' roll hatecrew Whiskey Ritual just released a new video for "Blow With the Devil," which can be seen below and is the title track taken off the album of the same due to drop November 27 through Art Of Propaganda.

Whiskey Ritual began in 2008 as an idea of Dorian Bones (Caronte) and Plague (Selbstentleibung) to create an old-school black metal band along the lines of Venom, the first Bathory album, and Hellhammer. It was the group's precise intention to give birth to something rotten, dirty, and violent, with no compromises.

Then Asher and A. (both of Forgotten Tomb) joined the band. In 2010, Whiskey Ritual released a demo titled "Black'n'Roll," a split 7” with Forgotten Tomb the following year, and then two full-lengths: 2010's "In Goat We Trust" and 2012's "Narconomicon," the latter featuring special guest vocals by Apollyon (Aura Noir, Immortal) on the track "One Million."

The track listing for new album "Blow With The Devil" is as follows:

1. Blow with the Devil
2. My Funeral
3. Too Drunk for love
4. Satanic Kommando
5. Speed & Chicks
6. A.B.I.T.C.H.
7. Mephistopolis
8. Nekro Street Gang
9. Henry Rollins

Blaze Of Perdition Announces Lineup Changes

Polish black metal group Blaze Of Perdition is gearing up for a first tour since a tragic road accident in Austria back in 2013.

Set to start on November 5th in Lublin, the "Days Of No Light" tour will visit ten cities across Poland and include support from fellow black metal group Mord'A'Stigmata and post-metal act Moanaa.

In connection with resuming live activities, the band decided to shed some light on the personal situation in the band: "We've got a new band member Devasto - fresh blood. Originally he was to become our bass player, but sudden complications made him take up guitar duties, while Revenger returned to his bass.

"As for the vocals, most gigs will be performed by Rattenkönig - talented and experienced frontman from the southern region of Poland. The only exception will be a gig in our hometown - Lublin, where we shall perform with our original master of ceremony - Sonneillon. This will arguably be very special performance, so it might be slightly different than the other gigs during this tour as well.

"We hope to return to our main live line-up someday. At the moment, Sonneillon is focused on the studio-related work only, while his live duties will be taken up by a worthy replacement mentioned above. Few exceptions might occur, but at the moment we are forced to continue this way. We also hope that this situation will clear up as soon as possible. It is important to notice, that Sonneillon's vocal performance is as good as always, but his health condition demands special logistical requirements we're not able to meet right now. The rest remains unchanged." More...

Astronoid Signs With Blood Music

Astronoid just inked a record deal with Blood Music to release a new album next year. The label comments:

"Blood Music is extremely proud to present to its roster – Astronoid! The astronomically-themed 'dream thrash' Boston five-piece twists through intense tremolo-picked galaxies, condensing soundscapes from a wide variety of artists – Alcest, Devin Townsend, deafheaven, Dragonforce – to a single and very unique core.

"With two acclaimed EPs under their belt, the band has been hard at work on their debut album for more than two years. Nearing completion, the record considerably ups the ante on the band's previous material, bringing in a gloss of soaring major key atmospheres alongside constant, intense, galactic shredding – eliciting something so familiar yet so unique.

"The record is in fact so accessible, yet like nothing I've ever heard before. The band's debut album is in the final mixing, mastering, and layout stages and will be ready for an early 2016 release through Blood Music." More...

Devil You Know Covers "Eye Of The Tiger"

Devil You Know is now streaming a cover version of the classic Rocky movie series anthem track, “Eye of The Tiger.” This is a rousing, hard rock rendition to the Survivor hit song and is available below.

Look for Devil You Know on tour alongside Five Finger Death Punch and Papa Roach across all of Europe now through November 28, 2015. John Sankey (drums) states:

"One day when we were in the studio working on our new album, They Bleed Red, Howard Jones (vocals) turned up in a shower robe and started shadow boxing in the vocal booth while doing his best Rocky Balboa impersonation. It was so impressive that we immediately knew we had to do a cover of the infamous Rocky soundtrack theme. 'Eye Of The Tiger.' We had already been discussing the possibility of recording a cover, but had no idea what song we would do. In that moment when Hojo literally transformed himself into the Italian Stallion right in front of our very eyes we knew it was the perfect choice!

"Our biggest challenge would be adapting the original song into our own style, so we decided each of us must take on the persona of a different cast member to best capture the performance necessary to do such an iconic song justice. Howard lived and breathed the role of Rocky for a full week, Francesco Artusato (guitars) became as a slightly shorter Ivan Drago, Ryan Wombacher (bass) was the perfect fit for a modern day Mickey and I of course was a 'way too Australian' not quite as ripped version of Apollo Creed. We entered the studio swinging wildly in all directions with our respective instruments and there was blood, sweat and many many tears, mainly of uncontrollable laughter. Hours later we emerged victorious and super slow motion high-fived each other in classic Rocky fashion as we listened back to the sweet metal sounds of a reformed Survivor classic. We hope you all enjoy it as much as we do." More...

Vardis Signs With SPV/Steamhammer

SPV/Steamhammer is proud to sign one of the true veterans of the NWoBHM: Vardis. Guitarist and singer Steve Zodiac commnets about the signing:

"Reuniting after a 30 year hiatus was a leap in the dark, but the response has been tremendous. Terry, Joe and I have hit upon a creative chemistry that makes me as excited to be recording the 5th Vardis album today as I was cutting our first demos in '76. SPV/Steamhammer have a deserved reputation for high quality releases, but it was their passion for the future of Rock and Metal as well it's heritage that meant they were the label we wanted to work with. Together we can push boundaries on the most heartfelt, hard-edged Vardis record yet, with that same rock n roll spirit at the centre of everything we do.!"

Olly Hahn, A&R at Steamhammer adds: "I am a child of the New Wave of British Metal and I remember well when I bought the 'Quo Vardis' album back then. The band combined certain styles like Boogie, Glam and Hard Rock and created their own musical brand. I´m very proud that Steve and the band decided to sign with SPV/Steamhammer. The band is on fire and when you saw their gig at last years Keep It True festival in Germany you know what I mean!"

New Vardis album "Red Eye" will be released in 2016. Stay tuned for more info within the next few weeks.
