Pavic Releases New Music Video

Italian hard rock outfit Pavic recently signed with Alpha Omega Management and now releases a new video for "Every Time I Die." Comments front man Marko Pavic:

"This song talks about how we live with the guilt of/for our mistakes. We should learn how to forgive ourselves, because mistakes are part of the growing process and we should never give them too much importance.

"The video was filmed in Kiev, Ukraine. March 31st, 2015 is a date that we will surely remember, a moment really important to us. We had an incredible and unforgettable experience playing together with Within Temptation in a completely sold out StereoPlaza venue. We definitely have to say that people there has been totally stunning and we really can't wait to back to Ukraine again to bring our music there."

Pavic released third album "Is War The Answer?" in 2014, mixed by American producer Rick Beato (Shinedown, Fozzy). More...

The Road Vikings Signs With Sliptrick Records

The Road Vikings just inked a deal with Sliptrick Records and will release a new album soon. The label comments:

"Dan Bryant, San Francisco, CA vocalist, shredmaster, and songwriter is the leader of The Road Vikings and a true journeyman in the world of metal. Dan’s musical debut, in his typical trial-by-fire fashion, was as last-minute replacement vocalist for Jason Becker (David Lee Roth Band) and Marty Friedman’s (Megadeth) renowned band Cacophony, in front of hundreds of rabid, unforgiving metal fans at the legendary metal club The Stone in San Francisco.

"With minimal knowledge of the lyrics and no time to prepare, Dan tapped his improvisational skills and adapted on the fly, salvaging the gig from the flames and wowing the crowd. But that initial gig was only one battle in a very long war.

"Dan Bryant soon was making the rounds as a vocalist in the L.A. demo recording grind, appearing as a member of thrash metal pioneers, Hexx, on the Shrapnel Records release Under the Spell. Yet Dan could not find satisfaction as a hired gun, and just when he grew weary of the fight, Japanese shred sensation and old friend, Hideaki Nakama called to snatch him up for the band Hell 'N' Back. They played for over 10,000 fans at the legendary Budokan Hall in Tokyo and recorded some quality metal (Supremacy, Sacred Wind on Danger Crue Records).

"But Dan’s desire to develop his own band led him back home to the East Bay in order to realize his vision of a biker metal band blasting down a Northern California road on a ’57 Iron Head chopper. Now it was time to find the soldiers. More...

Fun Fun Fun Fest 2015 Day Two: Mayhem

All the best metal on day two took place in the clubs as part of the Nites extension at Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, Texas. Black metal Warfare II tour featuring Mayhem/Watain/Rotting Christ stopped at The Mohawk. Black metal is a seldom seen commodity at FFF, so it was exciting to see three legends in the black metal camp play. With Venom playing on Sunday, black metal has singed its mark on the annuals of the decade-long festival.

Gaia’s tears could not hinder music lovers from attending day two. I did not arrive at Auditorium Shores until around 4:30. By that time the rain had dwindled down to a drizzle but its effects were evident in the mud. The sets of major acts Jane’s Addiction, NOFX and Wu-Tang Clan monumentally clashed.

I did not stay for any of those bands. I left early to get down to the Mayhem show. Before leaving, I caught stoner comedian Doug Benson’s act. He reeled off funny slogans and got the crowd wired in to his Twitter page. He read off tweats from his followers in and out of the tent. He did not seem as stoned as he usually is, his delivery of jokes was too fast, but did beckon an E-cig filled with Mary Jane juice, which he graciously accepted and toked. More...

Rising Finishes Work On New Album

Danish metal four piece Rising just completed work on a forthcoming third album to be released in April of 2016 as the band gears up for a string of first shows in over two years.

Formed in 2008, Rising released two DIY EPs, building momentum with the "To Solemn Ash" debut LP in 2011 and the follow-up "Abominor" in 2013. Following the recordings of "Abominor," the trio dissolved, and as the sole remaining member guitarist Jacob Krogholt has since then rebuilt the band with original drummer Martin Niemann, bass player Bjarke Kofoed and singer Morten Grønnegaard.

The new Rising lineup entered the studio in August and September to record the band's third album with producer Jacob Bredahl (By The Patient, The Kandidate, etc.), who also mixed the effort, while Brad Boatright (Nails, Converge, etc.) has overseen the mastering.

The yet-untitled album consists of ten songs, still undeniably Rising in its crushing heaviness, firm songwriting and intricate arrangements, while Grønnegaard with his more melodic vocals lends a classic metal vibe to the band. The album will be released via Indisciplinarian in April and will be backed by touring in the group's native Denmark and abroad. Currently announced dates include: More...

"Hair I Go Again" Documentary Coming In March

"Hair I Go Again," a documentary about the determination and failures of a former hair band chasing after dreams, will officially be released worldwide on March 10th, 2016. In anticipation of the event, the producers have unveiled its newest trailer below.

The year was 1985. Thousands of miles away from the sonic debauchery of the Sunset Strip, two teenage friends shared aspirations of glam rock grandeur. Freshly permed and taking a page straight out of Hit Parader, a hungry, determined band was born. Fame and fortune, however, remained out of reach and the group unceremoniously imploded...probably over some chick.

Fast forward thirty years.

Facing a mid-life crossroads, Kyle Kruger and Steve McClure set out on an improbable journey in order to fulfill their dreams of achieving rock & roll stardom. With credit cards maxed out and the 401K cashed in, the pair risk everything in hopes of reclaiming the magic they had as a band over a quarter century ago.

It’s a story about a lifelong friendship, insurmountable odds and dealing with the always present thought of “what if?” It’s a tale of rediscovery, determination, triumphs and failures. Because first and last chances happen only once.

The flick features candid interviews with some of the most influential musicians and industry professionals in the business, including Eddie Trunk (That Metal Show), Jeff Keith and Frank Hannon (Tesla), Ron Keel, Steve Blaze (Lillian Axe), Frank Bello and Joey Belladonna (Anthrax), Les Warner (The Cult), as well as members of Kix, Stryper, Queensrÿche, Quiet Riot, Warrant, Motörhead, LA Guns and more.
