Zhrine Signs With Season Of Mist

Season of Mist is proud to announce the signing of Zhrine: the Icelandic bringers of darkness will release their debut full-length in the first half of 2016. Regarding their signing, Zhrine comments:

"We are extremely pleased to have the honour of being welcomed into the fold of Season of Mist. They represent the same artistic values that we strive for, and we are very happy that our long and arduous journey of musical progression and development has finally won us a home at the very label we had set our sights on. Furthermore we like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Michael Berberian and all of the Season of Mist staff worldwide for their warm welcome, and for affording us with this unprecedented opportunity for future professional and artistic growth."

Zhrine rose from the fertile extreme metal breeding grounds of Kópavogur, Iceland in 2008, and soon began turning heads and snapping necks in the domestic scene with a brutal death metal style.

Through years of aural refinement of these more brutal tendencies into a crushing, yet ethereal, soundscape of oppressive blackened death, Zhrine soon outgrew the earlier moniker of Gone Postal. With theiforthcoming debut album on Season of Mist, Zhrine aims to introduce previously unheard elements of churning, visceral, atmospheres into the extreme metal palette, and cordially invite you, the listener, to join on this road less traveled. Armored Saint Posts New Music Video

Los Angeles, California's Armored Saint has had a banner year with the release of seventh studio album, "Win Hands Down," in addition to playing massive European festivals, crushing the masses across a North American co-headlining run with metal legends Saxon, and now wrapping-up the year with a very striking new music video for the blistering new track, “An Exercise In Debauchery."

The clip was shot by Brian Cox (Hollywood Undead, Prong) and can be seen below, courtesy of Loudwire. John Bush (vocals) states:

"I’m so happy with the way this video turned out. The song has a heavy subject matter and the video compliments it perfectly. There’s also a feeling of campiness which makes the viewer fade in & out of being uncomfortable and having a chuckle. The actors did a great job and personal props to my neighbor Sharon who let it all out as the police officer. Oh yeah, the band looks bad ass as well. Debauchery indeed."

Joey Vera (bass) further adds: "We're psyched to play these upcoming shows. First at M15 in Corona, CA. We haven't played Riverside County in a long time, so this is gonna be sick! Then after Thanksgiving, we head out to Europe for two headline shows and two festivals with legends Accept. What a great way for us to end this year. We're cooking up more shows for 2016, so we'll see you all soon!” More...

Headspace Announces New Album Release

Headspace, the band featuring Damian Wilson (Threshold) & Adam Wakeman (Ozzy Osbourne, Snakecharmer), will release second album "All That You Fear Is Gone" on February 26, 2016.

The band, completed by guitarist Pete Rinaldi (Hot Leg) & bassist Lee Pomeroy (It Bites, Steve Hackett), also just recruited new drummer Adam Falkner (Babyshambes, Dido, One Eskimo).

Adam Wakeman had this to say: "This album is the first to debut new drummer Adam Falkner whom Pete Rinaldi and I have toured with a lot in the past. He's a superb player and he really fits with the band's sound and style. He also gets a round in, which is a plus."

Damian Wilson comments on the new album: "The conforming individual represented in the first album that breaks away, is reflected in All That You Fear Is Gone. Free thinking, fighting against natural grouping, what appears as destructive rebellion is in fact evolution. Written to make the listener think, whilst capturing the ear with complexity and simplicity combined.

"Embarking on the second Headspace album I personally had a clear vision, but by the time each band member had thrown in their piece, I thought we had produced an album that was unlistenable to. As it progressed, the rough edges and corners seemed to settle like a good lasagne. Everyone has their own tastes, but I know this is a bloody good lasagne."

Heat Of Damage Posts "Judgment Day" Video

Folsom, California hard rock / heavy metal band Heat Of Damage just released the "Judgment Day" music video from debut album "Open Fire," which is available for purchase now through iTunes.

The video for "Judgement Day" was filmed at Ace Of Spades in Sacramento, California and was edited by Matt Thomas. Check it out below. David Haug from Heat Of Damage also comments:

"Judgment Day" was written to be a powerful ‘Fuck You’ song, plain and simple. The lyrics are written from the perspective of someone who has been wronged, whose response is to be the better person. My contributions to the writing process come from my own experiences of essentially the exact same thing; being wronged and priding myself on being a better person than those who would treat me poorly. The musicality aspect of the song is very heavy, like 80’s era heavy metal sounding (interestingly enough, we called the riff ‘80’s metal’ before the song became Judgment Day). The harmonized guitar solo was thrown in because I am very influenced by the guitar stylings of Iron Maiden, and love the way harmonized guitar sounds."

Nick Lassalette adds: "The song started out as just a simple guitar riff that I came up with. As soon as I played it at a rehearsal one day, Julian started pounding away on his drums and the sound of the song started to take form. From the beginning I knew this song was going to be something special, and I was not wrong. We decided to make it the first official single from the album because it strongly represents exactly what Heat Of Damage is, and what this album will sound like as a whole. Personally, I think it's the best song we have ever written." More...
