"Greetings all!! The end of summer is closing in, & October is just around the corner. So to usher in the fall season we will be playing @ the Rendezvous/Jewelbox Theater on Saturday Oct. 3rd here in Seattle with Velnias & Alda. It WILL will be our last show for quite a few months as we are going to be on a brief hiatus, all for different reasons.
"We have accomplished alot in the past 2 years since S. Vidano joined the band. Finishing up the writing process & the actual recording of ‘Lost to Antiquity’ was completed last year. We've played a number of shows since Vidano joined as well. Sharing the stage with Inquisition,Teratism,Scorched-Earth,Ceremonial Castings,Agalloch,Greyceon,Horna,Sol Negro,Tormentium,Book Of Black Earth,Nekro Morphosis & Black Breath has made us stronger in the live situation, being in the company of such powerful talents. And now the time has come to take a break to let our bodies & minds heal for a few months. One of us is starting a new position @ his job, another is having some serious surgery that will keep him laid up for awhile. Another is undergoing psychological evaluation, & one will be enduring physical therapy. This is what happens when you grow up being in an extreme metal band & thrashing yourself for 13 years!
"Anyway, the Show is 21+, starts @ 10pm & it is an extremely tiny space, so please come out & enjoy the harvest."

Katatonia Issues Recording Update
Katatonia has issued the following recording update for their upcoming album "Night is the New Day:"
"It's hard to believe, but it's a fact - the rathole sessions are over, we're done! David ‘King rat of the rathole’ Castillo, Jonas and me have spent the longest studio sessions this far with nearly every hour of the day (or night) since we finished up with the vocals. Picture this: Mix down, reference listening, un-do, re-do, mix down, reference listening, repeat x 100. There's always something you find to correct, whether it's one drum hit thats not loud enough, or a backing harmony that doesnt cut through, or a frequenzy in the bass that makes the rathole sound like a steamboat, yeah basically hundreds of things that fight for their position and balance in the sound picture. One song even reached a staggering 136 (!) active tracks. That's quite a contrast to the days were we were given 16 tracks for the whole package. Everything has to be optimized and you end up going back and forth improving and updating versions of the mix to replace the previous efforts and you can do this for eternity, unless you have a deadline. We just managed to complete the mix at the very last day and let me tell you, the album sounds fan-fukkin-tastic! It's heavy, punchy and crunchy. It sounds very 3D in headphones. We put this album back to back with a couple of other band's albums and it is either right up there sideways with them, or it simply sits with it's azz on their faces. Crushed! More...

"Dear readers,
"Well, the touring, the festivals and the travelling, it all has come to an end for us. I think we covered pretty much all the countries in ..Europe.. we really wanted to go to!

Also a warm shout goes out to all the fans that have attended our show(s). We really appreciate this!! Now we will have a nice and long break to regroup and I have already started working on new material for the upcoming new Pestilence album. It’s so exciting to compose new songs using the RG2228GK ( 8-string ) provided by HOSHINO/IBANEZ.
"Again, I will try to push the limit to new musical heights. The new material will be nothing like you’ve ever heard before from Pestilence yet I will be trying hard to maintain the Pestilence style to a maximum. By now everybody should be used to the fact that no Pestilence album sounds alike. This new material will be out of this world!!! So hang in there, and for now Peace."

Hatebreed Posts New Video Online
Hardcore metal group Hatebreed has posted their new music video online for the song, "In Ashes They Shall Reap." You can check it out below. The song comes from the bands forthcoming self-titled studio album, which is set to be released on September 29th through Roadrunner Records.
Frontman Jamey Jasta comments: "In Ashes They Shall Reap" is the first song we decided to focus on from our new album. I feel like this song will go on to become a big part of our live show as fans become more and more familiar with it. "Live For This", "I Will Be Heard" and "Destroy Everything" followed a similar type musical structure where the call and response part of the song become mini-anthems onto themselves and the audience responds accordingly and we feed off of that energy.
"We shot this video a few weeks back in Hartford, CT with our long-time friend/director Dale "Rage" Resteghini who also shot "Defeatist" and some of our earlier clips as well.
"The video captures the essence of the song and all the die-hard fans that came out to be a part of the live video shoot brought it to another level. We owe a lot to our fans for being the most amazing die-hards ever. We can't wait to start playing this song live and re-creating the energy you're about to see…" More...

"We have managed to include most of our live catalogue of tracks on the album, but have made a little bit of room for some new ones also. In fact, we had quite a choice of tracks in the end, and many a meeting was spent deciding the album’s track listing.
"All things going to plan, we are hoping to launch the album in October/November 2009.
"Stay tuned for more album updates, photos and maybe even some videos too!“
