Will Of The Ancients Issues Tour Recap
Will of the Ancients has issued the following tour recap from their tour alongside Wolven Ancestry:
"Ahoy!
"Ok so I realize this is a bit late, and I apologize, but in any case, the tour was GREAT! We'd like to thank Cryptik Howling and Wolven Ancestry (and Papa Loup!) for going on tour with us and for all the dumbass antics that took place (Human Errrrr!!!). Also cheers and thanks to the other bands that played on the shows, you guys kicked ass! There are some videos and pics floating around somewhere, I think, so I'll try to find them and post them asap.
"Also wanna thank all the promoters who helped make this tour totally kickass and memorable, and all those people that were gracious enough to allow us to crash at their places! Most importantly, thanks to all the people who came out to the shows and rocked out. It wouldn't have been much of a tour without you guys and girls :) We all had tons of fun, and hope you did too!
"After taking a little post-tour break, we're now gearing up to head into the studio and kill ourselves and each other in agonizingly slow and painful ways as we attempt to make this album sound absolutely stunning and epic! More to come on that soon, and some studio footage also!
"Until next time!"

'Requiem of Time' is a mixture of classic hard rock, like on the debut, 'Of the Son and the Father' and more modern metal like on the previous disc 'New Revelation.' Call it what you want; it contains the best songs the band has ever written. Release date for Japan will be announced soon.
"Another headline story is that Mika Itaranta has left the band due to personal reasons. We wanna thank Mika for all the fun we've had. Cheers mate and good luck with everything.
"We also wanna introduce you to our new bass maniac, Ulf Lagerström. Ulf is a close friend to the band and was our first choice; a great bass player and a damn good songwriter. He has been in bands like Lunatic Parade(with Patrik) and Barfly.(with Johan and Patrik) So, the circle is closed: Welcome Uffe!"
Echoes Of Eternity Streaming New Song Online
Los Angeles’ female-fronted progressive metallers Echoes of Eternity have debuted a new track entitled "Twilight Fires" on their official MySpace page. The song comes from their upcoming sophomore album, "As Shadows Burn," set for North American release on September 22, 2009.
Guitarist / songwriter Brandon S. Patton issued the following statement about the track:
“When we wrote this song, we asked ourselves, ‘What would it sound like if Francine [Boucher, vocalist] was singing for Morbid Angel or Dissection?’ This is what we came up with. It has a definite black metal/death metal feel to it. I don't think anyone's ever heard this type of female vocal with blast beats and double bass drumming in a context quite like this. It’s dark, seductive and powerful! The way Francine belts it out on this song blows my fucking mind and every one in the band loves the middle section of the song, where there is a slower ‘gallop-picked’ riff that is mean as fuck.”

Although Kataklysm plans a Canadian tour next year, which will cover the other provinces as well as the cities that were skipped this year, this will be the only opportunity to see the band live in these territories.
Front man Maurizio Iacono comments:
"The touring campaign for Prevail is slowly winding down and we have a few more things lined up, like a two part Canadian tour! One which will start in October doing secondaries in Quebec and heading out in eastern Canada as well. Next year in the spring we plan on doing a full scale Canadian tour which we haven't gone out west once for Prevail so we don't want to forget any of our fans.
"We also have a headliner stint for KATAKLYSM in Europe for January 2010 planned which will be the final tours for the Prevail album. In the meanwhile we are getting ready to hit the road with our other band called EX DEO, its our EPIC nemesis band based on Ancient Rome. It's been receiving rave reviews around the globe. The impact has been very strong so now were gonna bring the beast out live for the fall. After some rehearsals and video taping this week, I can say that EX DEO will surely turn some heads...or cut them right off! Heeheh"

Thrash Metal's "Big Four" To Tour?
According to Slayer guitarist Kerry King, a dream tour featuring Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax could well be in the works. Speaking to Britain's Metal Hammer magazine, King stated:
“I’ve heard people referencing Lars. I don’t know Lars that well and I haven’t heard it from Lars but apparently he’s talking to somebody about it. Maybe us, Metallica, Megadeth (and), I think he even threw in Anthrax and I said in this day and age, I know we had that time together but how do you leave out Machine Head? There’s better options than Anthrax and that’s nothing against Anthrax, but they’ve just been in pieces for quite some time and that doesn’t make as much sense to me."
The closest the world has got to having the "Big Four" tour together came in 1991 when Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax were joined on tour by the up and coming Alice In Chains, who stepped in for Bay Area thrashers Death Angel, on the Clash Of The Titans tour. The tour also went to Europe where Megadeth and Slayer performed without Anthrax and Alice In Chains but with Suicidal Tendencies and Testament.

Catholicon Finishes Recording New Album
Catholicon has issued the following brief statement about finishing their upcoming album "Of Ages Past:"
"The fourth album, Of Ages Past, is going through final graphics prep and will go to press soon!"
The band has also previously issued the following statement about the album:
"Catholicon would like to officially announce that Of Ages Past, our fourth full length album, is likely the last album to bear our name. A concept album on death and change, ironically appropriate; but still packed with plenty of the contemplative irreligious themes that make us what we are. Musically still Catholicon, but more moody, different, and some unexpected things here and there."
