Seventh Station Shares New Music Video

Seventh Station, led by guitarist Dmitri Alperovich and featuring keyboard player Eren Basbug (mostly known for his work with Jordan Rudess and Dream Theater) along with Davidavi ‘Vidi’ Dolev (frontman of Subterranean Masquerade) are ready to release their first single in five years. "All Hail the Moustache" blurs the line between reality and hallucination and is especially relevant to present world events. Along with reaching a new level of musicality and artistic expression, the band hopes that listeners will gain something from listening to it and find all the hidden messages in the music.

According to them, the single is a manic track portraying the grandiosity of a tyrant, a power trip that is getting out of hand, an active volcano hoping for some sort of immortality, spiraling out of control under waves of paranoia. Ironically, at the same time, it could also portray the minds of some artists. They chose the Moustache as a symbol of an ever-growing force of dark leaders in recent history, and though the current tyrants are shaved, we all know what goes under their skin. Guitarist Dmitri Alperovich explains the track and the accompanying video further:

"Through the intense music and the shocking video, we call people to respect each other and say no to any kind of war or dictatorship around the world. The animation was done by the great Finnish animator, Mika Tyyska, who worked on Dream Theater’s ‘Octavarium’ animation and he managed to put his unique input into our ideas. Slovenian actor, Anton Strojin, is starring in the first part of the video and is bringing his colorful acting to the surreal script, prepare yourself, this is a strange one."

"All Hail the Moustache" is just the beginning, the tip of the iceberg of what to expect next from Seventh Station who has other singles in the works which will eventually lead to the full, concept album. More...

Also, we'd like to pass the message from him."

Deathbringer To Release New Album In July

Progressive death metal pioneers Deathbringer have announced signing to new label Unique Leader Records. In celebration of the new partnership, the band have also unveiled their latest single "Inevitability (IT's Whip)," taken from their upcoming album "IT," due 15th July.

On the brand new track, guitarist and songwriter Artyom Serdyuk states:

"You are about to see a completely new face to Deathbringer. Our new album, with a very laconic title IT, is a concept record. It’s about an entity that does not have a name or any specific form, an entity that existed long before the formation of the Universe that we know, possibly being the creator of the macrocosm and many other worlds, or perhaps even being the forefather and architect of the Universe that we know. An entity that is both a creator and a destroyer, one that devours the worlds and gives birth to something completely different, something that is beyond our understanding. The album focuses on the moment in time when our Universe is being devoured by IT. Each song describes this moment from the point of view of completely different characters. Musically it’s a very personal and dark album, reflecting the dark times I’ve been through. It was a challenging record to work on, there’s so much going on in it; a piece of complex, experimental, technical and vast material. We’re looking forward to presenting this album and really hope it will appeal to the tastes of connoisseurs of extreme progressive and technical death metal." More...

Destruction Unveils "Repent Your Sins" Video

This Friday, April 8, the world finally gets to celebrate Destruction’s 40th anniversary with their hard-hitting full-length, "Diabolical!" On the new single "Repent Your Sins," the German thrash metal icons sound better than ever, fully displaying their unbeatable craft as the pioneers of thrash metal – never stepping off the gas!

On their 15th studio record, Destruction brings out heavy artillery full of honest and uncompromising thrash metal, catapulting you straight into the seventh heaven of metallic bliss and causing a massacre of razor-sharp sound no fan of the genre should miss!

Destruction singer/bassist Schmier about the new video:
"The music and the song itself shows the more groovy part of the new record. I love the diminished riff and the way Randy grinds the beat into your head! This will be an awesome live track for sure! The lyrics of 'Repent' are about the history of abuse in the Catholic church! A rather tragic and sad part of human history, that is still covered up by our governments. It seems the laws that count for all of us do not apply for servants of the church. UNREAL INJUSTICE!

"The video itself tries to show the soul torment of the culprit. To live with your dirty deeds but pray about love and kindness can not be justified and needs to be accused, named, remembered and wiped out!" More...

Interview

Incite Vocalist Discusses New Album "Wake Up Dead"

As we near another Friday, which is to say another release day, there's one album hitting the shelves this week which really stands out as one to watch, or rather listen to, namely "Wake Up Dead," the sixth full length album from Arizona groove metallers Incite. Spearheaded by frontman Richie Cavalera and with new guitarist Eli Santana on board, as well a new label behind them, Incite has never been at a more exciting point in their career and the record certainly reflects this.

With old school art, visually arresting videos and a guest appearance from Soulfly's Max Cavalera to boot, "Wake Up Dead" promises to be the fiercest release from Incite yet. To find out more about the album, Richie Cavalera spoke with Metal Underground and revealed all about the creative process, the changes the band has gone through, how the pandemic affected them and much more. You can watch the interview in full below.

Diamond Oz: The new album, "Wake Up Dead" is out soon, I believe on April 8th.

Richie Cavalera: Yeah, that's correct. We're super pumped on it. Everybody's talking about it and it's getting a lot of attention. We're super hyped.

Oz: I'm not surprised that it is because the two singles that have been released so far, "Deadbeat" and "War Soup" are really good and while they both have a groove to them, they're very different from each other, so it's a good display of the variety of the album.

Richie: Yeah I think that's one of the feelings with this new record. Each song kind of pushes a new realm for us. Keeping the main structure of what we are and who we are but just taking it a bit further with the talent we have, how long we've all been together. It was fun. It was a fun time to make these songs and feel what we could do. You know, acoustic guitar intros and ripping solos. It's a dope album.
