Cattle Decapitation Announces Details of New Album
Cattle Decapitation has issued the following update, revealing details of their new, upcoming album:
"We’re FINALLY done with all the finishing touches of our new album and we feel we’ve finally done it! Sonically, the band has managed to finally capture and accentuate its live intensity that we’ve become known for and has created one hell of an album from start to epic finish! Conceptually, its misanthropy shall go unmatched. This is it, humans... ferocity at its finest.
"The album is called 'The Harvest Floor,' a title Travis has been kicking around in his head and working towards for the last 2 albums! The actual title refers to the area of a slaughterhouse where the animal (of course in our case it always means the HUMAN) begins the agonizing process of death, usually done with a bolt to the forehead or a slice to the throat. 'The Harvest Floor' is a fitting title for an album laden in gore and the anti-human metaphors and sentiments CATTLE DECAPITATION fans have grown to know and love. Artwork by Wes Benscoter shows the outside of a large slaughterhouse/factory of doom and gloom with the general public being herded inside to meet their demise. The inside of the album layout reveals what’s really inside that slaughterhouse: our misanthropic heroes of GORE (not core) at another hard day of work! Combined with the amazing artwork and conceptually brutal layout, The Harvest Floor also contains an enhanced portion which sports an I-pod ready documentary titled 'Pandemic: The Damnation Epic – The Making of The Harvest Floor' which, simply put, makes 'The Harvest Floor' an apocalyptic multimedia epic!"
Here is the tracklisting for "The Harvest Floor":
1. The Gardeners of Eden
2. A Body Farm
3. We are Horrible People
4. Tooth Enamel & Concrete
5. The Ripe Beneath the Rind
6. The Product Alive
7. In Axetasy
8. Into the Public Bath
9. The Harvest Floor
10. Regret & the Grave
No strangers to guest appearances, CATTLE DECAPITATION has enlisted some old friends for guest vocals including Ross Sewage (Impaled/Ludicra) and Dino Sommese (Dystopia/Asunder). The band has also announced that there is a special appearance by Jarboe (Swans), lending her beautifully haunting voice to the epic death dirge "The Harvest Floor." Jackie Perez Gratz (Grayceon/Amber Asylum) graces a couple tracks with her electric cello and Los Angeles noisician John Wiese also lends his electronic/atmospheric expertise to the album further separating the band from the typical "cookie-cutter" approach applied all too often by today’s extreme acts.
Mortifilia Completes New Album, "Embrace"

The Haunted Premieres Video For "Moronic Colossus"
The Haunted has issued the following updates about the premiere of their first video from there new album, "Versus":
"We recorded the whole show @ Wacken Open Air this summer and we picked MORONIC COLOSSUS as a the first promo video. You might think releasing a live video as the first promo would be odd, but considering 'VERSUS' was recorded live we all felt that this was a pretty natural choice.
"The video is available at MySpaceTV exclusively for one week. After that it will be published at our site in higher quality."

Stone Sour Guitarist Josh Rand Checks In
Josh Rand, guitarist with Iowa based rockers Stone Sour has posted the following update online:
"Wow! I can't believe a whole year has gone by since I checked in with you last. Lots has happened. The summer floods, working on ideas for Stone Sour, and the new project I've been working on.
"So let's start with Stone Sour first. Our tentative plan is to start rehearsals for the new album in the fall of 2009, hit the studio at the beginning of 2010, and release around Summertime. I have to say that all of us are really thrilled about having Roy in the writing process this time around. I've heard song ideas from everyone, and I have a feeling this could be the most diverse Stone Sour album yet!
"In other news, I've been working on a new project called Moonshot. It's a female fronted rock band, and I'm pretty excited about it! Here's a link to check it out www.myspace.com/moonshotband . That's all you get for now. I'll keep you updated.
"Take care and see-ya soon."
Bring Me The Horizon Frontman Appears In Peta2 Ad
Flashing the peace sign, decked out in a classic Pink Floyd T-shirt, and next to the tagline "I'm a Vegetarian," rising British band Bring Me the Horizon frontman Oli Sykes appears in a brand-new ad for peta2, the world's largest youth animal rights organization.
Just about to embark on a long-anticipated headline U.S. tour (November 6) to promote the band's new album, "Suicide Season," Sykes took a time out to talk with peta2 about why he stopped eating animals.
"I decided to go vegetarian after I saw a video on PETA's Web site," says Sykes in the ad (viewable here). "When I saw how animals are tortured on factory farms, I couldn't justify being a part of that cruelty. I thought, 'Imagine if that were me.' Straight away, I said, 'That's it—I'm going vegetarian.'"
As if recording and touring weren't enough to keep Sykes occupied, he also has his own company called Drop Dead Clothing, which designed a special shirt for peta2 with the slogan "Meat Sucks."
Sykes isn't the only vegetarian in the band—guitarists Matt Kean and Matt Nicholls also refuse to support the cruel meat industry.
Sykes joins a growing list of musicians—including The Dillinger Escape Plan, Lamb of God, Kids in Glass Houses, Aiden, As I Lay Dying, and Rise Against—who've teamed up with peta2 to inspire people to challenge outdated, cruel attitudes toward animals.

Social Distortion frontman Mike Ness is currently planning a solo tour, while Motörhead is supporting their new album "Motörizer".
