Finale Enters The Studio

Finale, featuring Keith Buckley of Every Time I Die, is currently recording new material. The band had the following to say:

"Two years ago this started as a way to avoid succumbing to the Buffalo winters and drinking ourselves to death. Now Finale is a full band with six songs that we are currently recording at Audio Magic in our hometown. We hope to one day release it, but as of right now it's just something to send to labels with the hopes of getting more than 5 days in a studio. We are also video recording our progress here which will will post as soon as we get it edited together. Once it's done you will be able to stream all songs in their entirety. The response to what we have done thus far is overwhelming and it has made us realize that finale is not just a project. It's a band capable of recording and playing shows and giving back to the people that have supported us since it was just 2 dudes, an acoustic guitar and a bunch of sparks alcoholic energy drinks. Keep your ear to the ground."

The Haunted Vocalist Comments On Touring in US

The Haunted vocalist, Peter Dolving, has posted the following message on the band's Myspace in response to fan requests for the band to tour in US:

"We get a lot of you dudes and dudettes out there mailing us, saying you want us to come to the US and all kinds of different places.

"We are working our asses off to make it happen.

"BUT, since our agent is working on this RIGHT NOW as you're reading this, I suggest; Get up, and let your local promotors know how much you want us to come. We have a pretty sweet set up we are working on, so get up and get going, because you guys make a difference! Pitch in folks! Fucking Reprazent!

"To all of you; Thank you for all the support we are getting with this album. I don't think we've ever recieved this much attention, love and support form you people, but god damned it's sweet knowing you care! Becuase we live for this shit, and knowing you are there is INCREDIBLE!

"Again, making a show happen is all about you people, and whether the promotors know you want us, or if they haven't got a clue.

"If that support is there, your support - we can make it happen.

"So all you ugly fuckers out there, and yer sister too - make some fucking noise, let people know and let's do this!"

The Haunted will be embarking on a co-headlining European tour with All That Remains in early 2009. Tour dates can be found at this location.

Drudkh Signs To Season of Mist

Season of Mist is proud to announce the freshly inked deal the label signed with play Slavonic heathen metal band DRUDKH. Their cinematic, folk-influenced music focuses on a strong atmosphere with a lot of feeling, and the lyrical contents are about nature mysticism, seasons, philosophy, Ukrainian mythology, legends and history. Many of the band's lyrics are derived from the works of nineteenth and twentieth centuries Ukrainian poets.

DRUDKH decided to issue this one public statement only. They will also in future stick to their general rule, which means that DRUDKH will not be giving interviews nor make use of any internet platform:

"During all its history, the band followed a 'no photos, no interviews, no website, no gigs' policy, which was nobly accepted by DRUDKH's new label Season of Mist. The absence of any comments or information from DRUDKH's side gave an opening to a few ignorant internet warrior-fans to spread rumors, that the band embraces some extreme political views. This is absolutely misleading and a total profanation, since there is nothing in DRUDKH's music or lyrics that would suggest any political outlook. DRUDKH praise individualism, self-improvement and estrangement from modern values."

DRUDKH's upcoming album, whose title will be announced shortly, is set to an early 2009 release.

Arch Enemy Reveals DVD Release Date

Arch Enemy will be releasing a brand new DVD / Live 2-CD, entitled “Tyrants Of The Rising Sun – Live In Japan,” on November 24th in Europe and November 25th in North America via Century Media Records. The DVD contains a live-show filmed in Tokyo earlier this year, an in-depth 40 minutes road-movie feature, and all promo video clips so far shot for the band’s latest album, “Rise Of The Tyrant.” Further details on the formats and packaging will be disclosed soon. In the meantime, here is the track-listing of the live show:

1. Intro / Blood On Your Hands
2. Ravenous
3. Taking Back My Soul
4. Dead Eyes See No Future
5. Dark Insanity
6. The Day You Died
7. Christopher Solo
8. Silverwing
9. Night Falls Fast
10. Daniel Solo
11. Burning Angel
12. Michael Solo (Incl. Intermezzo Liberté)
13. Dead Bury Their Dead
14. Vultures
15. Enemy Within
16. Snowbound
17. Shadows And Dust
18. Nemesis
19. We Will Rise
20. Fields Of Desolation / Outro

Guitarist Michael Amott comments on the release as follows: “People are always asking us about Japan and the fans there… It is well known that Arch Enemy has been the most successful extreme metal band in the Japanese market for 10+ years, so we thought it’d be cool to show the Arch Enemy fans worldwide what it’s like when we tour there, this is your backstage pass to Arch Enemy, Nippon style! A lot of people felt that we raised the bar significantly with the quality of the ‘Live Apocalypse’ DVD – and I agree that was a great DVD, but I believe this monumental experience, that we are calling ‘Tyrants Of The Rising Sun’ filmed totally in high definition, - will leave you floored! With the metal world’s #1 producer Andy Sneap mixing the audio and the brilliant Paul Smith editing and directing the visuals, the results are impressive! And Niklas Sundin of Cabin Fever Media bringing in some of the best artwork I’ve ever seen from him - we have a new DVD that we are very proud to present to our fans!”

Following up the release date of the live-album, Arch Enemy have announced the final line-up for a string of European "December Tyranny" tour dates with Leaves' Eyes, Mercenary and Sister Sin. Dates are as follows:

Dec. 12 Uden, NL @ De Pul
Dec. 15 Pratteln, CH @ Z 7
Dec. 17 Ludwigsburg, D @ Rockfabrik
Dec. 18 Aschaffenburg, D @ Colos-Saal
Dec. 19 Bad Arolsen, D @ Outback

Arch Enemy’s vocalist, Angela Gossow, comments on the shows as follows: “This is a very diverse and exciting line-up we got together for these shows – A truly special run! Not only is this the first time in our history we tour with other female fronted bands, but we managed to cross over heavy metal, melodic metal, thrash/death metal and gothic metal in one billing. And Mercenary’s power metal version of ‘Burning Angel’ (you can find this on the new Century Media release ‘Covering 20 Years of Extremes) def. got stuck in my ears! Sister Sin is an upcoming, hard rocking act from Sweden… And Leaves Eyes will clearly be the ‘Beauty’ whilst Arch Enemy proudly represents the ‘Beast’! Be there when the revolution begins!”

In other news, Arch Enemy's cover of the Dream Evil classic "The Book Of Heavy Metal" is now posted at www.myspace.com/centurymediaeurope. The track comes off “Covering 20 Years Of Extremes,” Century Media’s 20th-anniversary compilation, which is available in stores now. It contains 32 mostly exclusive recordings where CM artists cover songs from other acts within the label’s repertoire.

Scar Symmetry Reveals Two New Vocalists

Swedish melodic death metal band, Scar Symmetry, have issued the following update welcoming their two new singers:

"When things went from bad to worse and we realized that it wasn't going to work out with Christian, we were faced with two options; either calling it quits, or seizing the opportunity to take the next logical step in the evolution of our sound. We chose the latter."

"We've used both growls and clean vocals in our music since day one, and with each album we've pushed the envelope of what you can do vocally in a metal band to the point where a lot of the songs on 'Holographic Universe' would be hard if not impossible to sing live. So the question is: Is it really possible to push the vocals even further and manage to perform everything live?" More...

In This Moment Debuts At #70 On Billboard Top 200

IN THIS MOMENT’s highly acclaimed new album, "The Dream," debuted at #70 on the Billboard Top 200 chart this week, which also marks the group’s first Billboard entry. This is over a 150% increase in sales from their previous album, "Beautiful Tragedy," in a marketplace that is at best half of what it was at the time of their debut release.

The band kicked off a massive North American tour last week joining up with Five Finger Death Punch, Bury Your Dead and Another Black Day. The two month long trek features the band in the direct support slot so fans can expect a 45 minute set, which also serves as the launch of their worldwide touring campaign for their sophomore release.

Chris Howorth (guitars) further comments: "IN THIS MOMENT would like to give a huge thank you to all our friends and fans who went out and bought our new CD last week. Not only did we have more than 100% increase over our last disc's first week tally, but we debuted on the Billboard Top 200 chart right out of the gates. We couldn't be more proud. We have been blessed with the best fans. We are about a week into our tour with 5FDP and it’s off to a roaring start. The whole Five Finger camp welcomed us in with open arms and we are really happy to be out on tour with good friends. All the shows are packed and the fans are loving every band on the tour. It's a really diverse line up so there is something for everyone. Don't miss it."

Carcass Offers North American Tour Wrap-Up

Reformed melo-death/gore-grind legends CARCASS recently completed their first North American tour since first reanimating early this year. Guitarist Michael Amott (ARCH ENEMY) commented on what their recent touring experience was like:

"What a tour! So many sold-out shows and fantastic, bordering on fanatical response from the fans everywhere we went! I’d like to thank the fans in the US/CANADA/MEXICO for waiting patiently and remaining fans all these years – and for coming out in such big numbers on the tour.

"For me personally it’s been quite emotional playing THOSE songs with THOSE guys again – really cool and almost too much fun. Playing the festivals in Europe over the summer was amazing, but I have to admit that I prefer being on tour playing every night in clubs – that’s when you get tight as a band and become a solid unit.

"Highlights? Without lying I’d have say that every night was special, it was just that kind of tour for me – but the NYC show at the sold-out Nokia Theatre was exceptionally killer, and Ken Owen (ex-CARCASS drummer) flew out for that one so the vibe was just incredible! That was the kind of night when you wish that the cameras were rolling."

Regarding the other bands on the tour and the people behind the scenes who made it all happen the guitarist continued: More...

Chevelle Issues Update On New Material

Chevelle has issued the following recording update amidst a recent blog posting. Here's what they had to say:

"Don't fret even though holidays are near we are working hard on new our music and the record is coming along smashingly. We have roughly seven new songs and countless other ideas. One thing you might notice on this record is that there are a few guitar solos, something that's rare for a three piece and rare for us. I've also been focusing on my acoustic guitar again, there's something so intimate about being naked and alone with it. The truth just seems to show it's self."
