Cold World Gives Update
Pennsylvania hardcore band Cold World has issued the following update:
"In case you haven't noticed, Cold World does not have any shows booked at the time. Dan, our singer, is about to have a child and we will not be booking any shows or making any moves until the baby is born and all is well and settled in his new family. This does not mean that we are breaking up at all. We will be hitting up the road as much as our schedules permit once all things check out with Dan's baby. In other news, we will be recording a song soon for a split with our friends in Strength For A Reason. The record will be in very limited quantities and feature unreleased songs from each band. Haroun and Nick are gonna have something real interesting comin out pretty soon. I'm sure you'll all know when that one happens.
"We had to cancel a weekend in one of our favorite cities, Boston, in September. Our live drummer situation has been all fucked up lately since Nick got a new job that doesn't let him play out all that often. We will 100% be back up to make up that show before too long. We'll also be out west in 2009, and hopefully to a few other countries we haven't been too in quite awhile."
Arcane Album Details Emerge
Mysterious Brisbane based proggers Arcane have unveiled a host of new information regarding the concept of their upcoming album Chronicles Of The Waking Dream. Eight individual releases of information have found their way online to the blogs on Acolyte Zero's MySpace page.
These releases are titled after eight disorders in human perception, including synchronicity, pareidolia, religious fanaticism, regret, invisible friends, obsession and a mental disorder called Apophenia, defined as "an obsession with seeking patterns and connectivity in random data and unconnected experience". The entries themselves begin to introduce and develop certain characters from the album.
In a separate press release welcoming new drummer Blake Coulson on board, Arcane also mentioned that they will not be performing again for 2008, and that their first gigs of 2009 will be the Chronicles album launch shows, where they will not only launch the CD but "play the album live, in it's entirety".

Battlelore Frontman To Miss Finnish Fire Tour
BATTLELORE frontman Tomi Mykkänen has issued the following update:
"Hello all!
To my great regret I need to tell you that I am not able to be part of the Finnish Fire tour this autumn due to family reasons. I will take my personal leave from performing with BLore as of today so I will miss also the three Finnish gigs (Juva, Oulu and Kuopio). The reason why I’m missing the Finnish gigs as well is quite easy; we need to have the replacement vocalist trained for the tour and what is better place to train than gigs? Replacement vocalist? Yeah, there is one and he’s Harri (Witch King) from AVATHAR. Who would be a better replacement than other fellow Tolkien freak?!
Harri is an excellent growler with a deep, strong voice, and a great attitude for live shows. He also sings clean vocals, so he is the perfect session front man! The band will sound just as great as always! Hopefully you’ll all make him feel welcomed. Maybe buy him a beer or two…
I will be back in fold for the gig on January 1st 2009. More info on that later.
I feel very bummed for missing the gigs and new countries and lots of new (and old!) fans but sometimes in life happens things that are even more important than touring, drinking and rocking. The things like that are very rare though…Hahah!"

Wolf Posts New Studio Blog Online
Swedish metallers Wolf has posted the following studio blog online:
"Driving 4 hours to Örebro to record is no prob as long as you have plenty of coffea, Ballerina kex and cruise control. I was very excited to put down my leads for Ravenous since i thought i'd done good pre-work. And i did! YEAH! Sure, it's hard work and you get frustrated at points BUT if you get a 'feel' for it it doesn't matter how many takes you do. In the end, it sounds awesome and i hope the rest off the guys do to. I'm laying down my backround vocals aswell as additional vocals.
"We actually had to move from Studio Seven up to Niklas Vipers place since construction was going on and the builders was moving closer to the studio. Right now we're locked in at Viper's place to finnish off the record. Me, Viper, Roy Z and Viper's wife, Malin, who's constantly handing us beers and coffea aswell as rubbing our backs when we're tired. More...

It Dies Today Gives Recording Update For New Album
It Dies Today is currently in their own self-built Buffalo, New York recording studio working on their new album. Singer Jason Wood had the following to say:
"We've actually built a studio in the house that Mike Hatalak (our guitar player, engineer and main writer) and I live in together. It has given us an amazing dynamic to work with for this record. We have limitless resources as well as a phenomenal amount of freedom. It's one of those things as a musician you grow up always wanting to have available in your living situation. A place to record whenever you have an idea or whenever you feel creatively superb, We've never been in a more comfortable or creative atmosphere in our lives!"
Titled "Lividity," the effort is slated to hit stores on January 27th via Trustkill Records.
Wood elaborates: "We're really pumped about this new record! Lividity is a medical term (as I am a huge fan of CSI) that means when you die all your blood in your body settles, so where you're lying is a bruise covering that part of your body. Metaphorically, for example, someone whose life is very stagnant or unmotivated. Now I'm sure everyone who cares has heard the rumors of a heavy record, well it's true! We're writing a lot more 'Caitiff Choir' like riffs and we're working on a more raw and ballsy atmosphere for this record. Expect sincerity, passion, and FUCKING POWER!"
