Godlike: About time I hear from YOU again :) Better enjoy your time at home from truckin while you can...spot any eye candy? :D

Hey Oz, its been awhile buddy..!! Not too much happenin here.... I finally have a couple days to lay around home..!!
Yeah, the ol Breadfan gets played on XM "Boneyard" every so often.... what a great tune..!!
Is all going well for you...??
brettTHEjett - a7x threads are chatrooms because there are not enough fans to fill the threads with usefull posts..!! And it seems that there just isnt a dedicated chatroom on the MU...yet anyway...????
On the other hand..... this band is as much of a joke as Trivium..!!
I myself, am an overtheroad truck driver....!! and you..??
Killer Dwarfs - Stand Tall

I'm pipe coating plant designer/engineer/planner/installer/project manager.
yeh...avenged is a joke, but i'm completely guilty of being a shinedown fan(on tour with ax7)
NP: Machine f***ING Head - Batter (cover)

I'm doing pretty well thanks mate, been busy helping out a close friend who's going through a real bad time lately but we're both staying positive.
Breadfan is a badass song to be fair, one of my favourite songs to play on the ol bass.
Good to have you back online and to hear you're having some much needed R&R
13. writes:
Well Jenny, it seems that Ive come down with a touch of the flu..... so Im gonna actually take a few extra days off.... generally its only been a day orso off... but Im gonna stretch it out for a couple extras this week...!! It gets really REALLY old, staring out through the windshield day after day and night after night..... Ive done ALOT of travelling though.... and thats always cool.... being that I get paid by the mile..!!
15. writes:
OK, so this thread is gonna rack up the posts rather quickly it seems....
brettTHEjett - sounds like a respectable career...!! Although I agree that most all Jennys Ive ever met, have been a bit on the HOTT side... there have been a few that were the exact opposite..!!
As for Jenny here at MU .... I can only say that her tastes in music make her a hottie in my book anyday..!!!! I dont even need to see a picture of her to say that either....
This comes from a man that spent way too long in a relationship with a hottie that liked hiphop/ r&b... and hated metal of all kinds..!!
16. writes:
Hells yeah, Ive got XM radio and I also run my MP3 player through the same system.... It has just over 3400 songs loaded on it.... having a collection of over 500 CDs leaves me listening to only metal.... 24 hrs a day... whether its Zeppelin and Sabbath up thru Mudvayne and Black Label Society
I hear nothing but the songs I like, all day...everyday..!!
24. writes:
Im actually getting used to sleeping in truckstops with all the other trucks running around me.... but nothing beats the bed at home...!! The sleeping pills Im able to enjoy here at home.... put me into a 8-10 hr coma.... I dont hear anything at all.. not even my alarm...hahaha
Damn it sure is nice to be at home for a few days.... even if I am sick...
I might even be able to sneak in some time to jam with the guys..... its been awhile since Ive even played with myself....much less a drummer and bassist..!!
25. writes:
when im shipping equipment from holland to russia, the russian truck drivers are treated horribly! if they show up on a friday and don't get fully loaded by the end of the day the have to sleep in their truck that's parked outside of the shop till monday afternoon. no food, water, shower, hygiene, truck stop, NOTHING. the RUB currency compared to euro is so extreme that the Russian truck drivers can't afford a loaf of bread and 2L milk that they'd have to walk 20 mins to get. I always give the dude a 5L of mineral water and a burger/fries if they aren't on their way Friday.
28. writes:
Wow, that sounds pretty sh**ty.... Here in America, there are truckstops everywhere along the interstate highways... most of them offer showers etc.... In my truck I have a refridgerater and a microwave along with a toaster oven.....I carry fresh water and soda, food and hygiene supplies with me where ever I go... I also have my laptop with wireless internet and a pile of DVDs with me too.... On a few trips Ive even taken a guitar with me...... Ive been stuck in some places for a day orso at a time.... but generally everyone is in such a hurry that loading/unloading goes pretty quickly..!!
I cant imagine spending an entire weekend with nothing.... that would truly suck..!! Thats pretty cool of you to offer food and water to em... Im sure they appreciate that greatly...!!
The most Ive been offered by a dockworker for a longer than usual wait, was a blowjob.... and from the looks of that skank, I wouldnt have let her blow my dog....... yuck..!!
33. writes:
Post 29: yeah, it was over the weekend. Monday and tuesday I felt better, ate a lot, and then got sick again. At least I'm not throwing up, though...
STD: You have 670? that's a sh!tload...I don't watch THAT many movies. Is that your Krank in the avatar? ive been meaning to ask you.
34. writes:
Yeah, I have a ton of movies and I love watching them. It's an addiction of overspending! lol And yeah that's a picture of my Krank. I've got the Krankenstein. I love it! Sounds great! I don't get to use it much though. I've got an apartment in Chicago and it's at my parents house, so it kinda sucks not being able to use it.
36. writes:
I've been on here, just not spending much time talking. Just been finishing up getting my bachelors degree so I can be done with school and start touring managing and managing bands. I just want school to be over with so I can start my career! How are you doin?

I'm not sure how old Crawford is but he's like my running mate on this site. I think me and him started using the site around the same time, I think he's one of the funniest people on this site and me and him have engaged in many an arguement against arrogant passers by. He's a real good guy, he just seems a little over the top to some people.
Since we're all talking about ages, I turned 19 just under a month ago and live of incapacity benefits (but I'm almost fit to work again :))

OK, the godlike one has awoken from a much deserved nap..... ages were talking about again huh..??
Well kids, I will be turning the big 40 in January..!! That makes me an elder around here doesnt it..?
To be honest I dont act my age.... or look it, after I started shaving my head... that seems to eliminate the gray hair immediatly....but its damn cold in the winter..!!
54. writes:
Yeah, I hear ya.... I used to have hair down to my bellybutton... and then it started getting too thin on top..... the next step was cutting it short....that lasted about a year....The razor came next....!!
As for being cold.... Im right there with ya mhd101..... I live in extreme NE Iowa.....it gets mighty cold around here too...!!
60. writes:
Sorry Kalis_- I cut off my hair in 95...there was never any photos taken before it was all cutoff... so all that remains is some school photos...and the normal wedding photos of family members who were dumb enough to get married..!! I have natural curly hair... so it fit in great in the 80s.... ever seen any old Bon Jovi videos..?? My hair looked alot like his.... or Paul Stanley's back in the old days...!! yeah..big and poofy, with the help of gels and hairspray..!!

66. writes:
Kalis - I'm doing great! well...except for the 90 degree heat.
Hope all is going well for you and Eris!
Jenny - Yeah I'll be 19 in mid November. By the way, I liked that comparison you made with this thread & gas prices. Although the price for a gallon of gas has been vastly decreasing.
Godlike - How's it hanging man!...hope everything is going well. You mentioned Boneyard XL earlier right?...That is good quality Rock & Roll 24/7!
MHD101 - I want to give snowboarding a shot. Problem is, there is no snow here in this Smog-Hole.
NP - Nuclear Assualt - "Human Wreckage"
67. writes:
OK, Kalis_, if I happen to come across some, I will be sure and send em to ya..!! The only one I have on hand, is an old drivers license leftover from the 80s... and we all know how great those pics are..!!
mhd101- yeah winters would probably be appreciated more if I was into snowboarding or skiing...but Ive never done either one.... did alot of sledding when I was a kid.... but that was SO long ago.!!
Shredder13 - yes indeed the Boneyard is my favorite station on XM... but even that gets to be the same tunes after so long..... I try to mix it up with my MP3 player when XM gets too boring....!!
ZT - so what are you doing nowadays.... school or working.. or both..??
Oz - glad to know your getting better.... the ol back is healing huh..??

Dougcore86: Hey how's it goin? Say, we all just love to talk about our selves lol, so it's time we get acquainted: how old are you? :)
Kalis: That sounds good. I haven't eaten a sandwich in awhile...odd. Nothing beats a Mountain Dew slurpee though. *slurp* oh man, its almost done:(
Shredder: Time better fly fast so you turn 19. Do you plan on doing anything special for your birthday?
Metalheaddrummer101: Good luck with getting that DVD, is Netflix the only place you can get it?
NP: "Witching Hour" -Venom

Kalis: That sucks, you know, I'm hearing a lot of stupid things over relationships today...what's up with that? Today: gotta friend, his ex girlfriend slapped em twice because he wants to straighten out some misunderstandings. Plus, I'm aware of another girl who broke up with her boyfriend, but later today she was the one crying! How does that work?! Some real nice guys out there don't deserve this sh!t. As for you Kalis, you're just amazing, so exes are something you need to continue ignoring :)
107. writes:
Why thank you, Jen. He is not the only ex that I have to ignore. My ex Zack wants to be friends, but when you send me a pic of your self topless with what is supposed to be my friend after the break up, you loose that privlage! It is not just a case of just because I don't want him, you can't either. He lied to her, and told her I called her a slut. It is even more funny she fvcks two men in one day without even a shower between and had a thing for making our house a meat market for her, and she gets butt hurt! I hope your friends issues work out o.k. If I had more info I could offer my words of wisdom.

111. writes:
Kalis: I'm not involved with "drama" or whatever...I hear about things from my sister. Odd things going on...people just like to run their mouths and spread rumors. I HATE that...I find it childish. (I actually consider the two guys I was talking about as acquaintances by the way.) About that chick letting herself go with two guys, that's terrible.
Dougcore86: Thanks for responding I appreciate that. :) I'm 16...it seems to me that I'm the youngest thing here, but I'm actually kind of thankful for that, seeing as how I can learn/discover music and people as I continue to grow.
NP: "Raise The Dead" -Bathory *sings* DUST TO DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUST !!!

116. writes:
Thanks doug, I gotta admit I have much to learn about good music haha. I seem to come across various sites that give me good metal info. Hey, have you been to any gigs lately?
Kalis: yeah, total ewwww ! Say, you need to get that Amon Amarth album fast, it's amazing. I stayed up til 11 o clock or so for the past three nights kicking to it.
NP: "The End Complete" -Obituary

A girl who listens to my favourite Bathory album... awesome Jenny!
Can't remember when I first became a member but I started posting around 04/05 I think... if you want to see something cool you can go to http : // web.archive.org/web/*/www.metalunderground.com
122. writes:
Godlike - Yeah dude. Sometimes Boneyard can play some cheesy metal/rock...like "Firehouse"...never liked that band. Well atleast you have an MP3 player loaded with your favorite tunes!
Jenny - I'm not really excited about turning 19. I'll just be 19 years closer to death. HAHA!...I'll probably just call a few friends and relatives over to jam in my garage and blast some metal all night. You turn 17 on May 3rd right?...Learn as much as you can about metal! It's a very interesting culture. I first discovered Metal when I was in 7th grade. Of course "Nu Metal" was huge at the time but I didn't get into it. I really got into metal when I was approaching my sophomore year in high school.
Kalis - I also stumbled upon MU by searching for "Metal News". Except I found out about this site in early 2007. I became an official member on April 3rd under the name of "RIFF-MASTER". I would check up on the site just for news and not for posting. Ah! MU is great!
NP - Violent Force - "Sign Of Evil"
124. writes:
I found this site the same way as you guys too. Except my first few times I thought nothing of it, then I started reading the reviews and articles and lead me to finding some of my favourite bands. Metal Underground for life.
For your 19th go north for Canadian drinking games.
HAIL THE LEAF!
126. writes:
bbristowe - I would if I could. Not enough money for a road trip at the moment. I'll just tell my cousin to buy a set of beers. He'll probably do that anyways.
Cynic - Well I wouldn't know anything about Doom...but someone is bound to figure that one out.
NP - Death - "Zombie Ritual"
127. writes:
Oh yeah you guys can't drink til you're 21 right? That's insane! Here it's only 18 haha - first year at university is an experience in liver destruction.
Hmm maybe I'll start up a competition to guess my avatar and change it when it gets guessed! The band is... goat related. Funnily enough the other one I was tossing up between is the skull-lord guy on the front of "Scream Bloody Gore".
129. writes:
Cynic - Yeah the drinking age here in the states is 21. But who cares!...I drink sometimes but not excessively and not on a daily basis. I'd say probably 2-3 beers a month. Not much of a drinker...only at metal shows.
"Let's all make a goal? I am a "the more metallers, the merrier" kinda woman. I say that everyone gets a metal budddy to join us!"
Kalis...I am confused beyond recognition!...
NP - Bathory - "Armageddon"
131. writes:
I mean we start getting our friends in the real world to join us on MU. Atleast one of em.
I hate restless nights! I gotta figure out how to get this issue taken care of! Maybe it is time to get back to doing somd meditation, or hit the pipe? Somethings gotta give though! The one crappy thing about being a Libra is your mind never naturally shuts up! So getting to sleep is more difficult!
133. writes:
bbristowe and cynic....do we have some canadians in the house!
my home is in Edmonton.
I also found MU by looking for some metal news. I believe I was searching for an album review on something...can't remember.
My introduction to metal was (obviously) metallica....i was one of your typical radio-rock listeners who wanted something a little harder. A buddy of mine has a CD collection of 500+ CDs but he doesn't have a computer so I agreed if I burned all his CDs onto his iPod if I could make copies for me self ( i know...baaaaadd) but he had every sort of music and I think there was about 6000 songs. I hit shuffle and would hear a song that was prety awesome so I'd wiki the band and go iTunes and just buy their discography. Other than Metallica... Godsmack was my big introduction. Not necessarily metal, but it suits my needs. they remain one of my favorite groups
134. writes:
"I mean we start getting our friends in the real world to join us on MU. Atleast one of em."
That's a good idea....I'm shocked there are only like 3500 RSS feed subscribers for such an amazing site. I love reading peoples comments to each article for expanding my metal understanding.
only problem is... I honestly don't have ANY metal head friends!!!!! all kanye west bull SH!T and poofy madonna garbage
135. writes:
Yeah the back's healing well thanks Godlike. Lol I kinda know how you feel brett, but in a different context. Namely Everlast is coming to the U.K. in December and I don't have any friends who really like his kind of music. Ah well.
Now playing: REM- All The Right Friends
138. writes:
Hey, everybody. Sorry I'm so late to join the thread, it's been a couple days since I've been on the site. How's everybody doing?
Brett, I know what you're saying about not having any metalhead friends. I don't have any either; they all listen to rap and alternative. It's a bummer, because I don't have anyone here that I can talk to about real, GOOD music.
P.S., Bathory kicks total ass, lol.
Now playing: Bathory - "A Fine Day To Die"
139. writes:
Hey Kali that gig sounds amazing - Dimmu, Winds Of Plague and Moonspell all kick ass. Wish we had a tour like that over here. Oh well il just have to make do with slayer in a months time, and soilwork in 2 weeks.
And about the drinking age in america - its a joke. 18 is the age. besides most 15 year olds in Ireland drink every weekend. Thats why walkin around the town is sometimes fun/dodgy.

Yeh i tend to drink less now than i did when it was illegal. Sure i have the odd bender and i drink socially but not to the same extent. When i was 15 for example i drank a litre of whiskey on halloween, led to one f***ed up fun night.

Kali... rape your boyfriend? Is it really rape? Lol.... Didn't really need to know that, though.

I can jump into the talkin of drinkin alcohol, Ive drank a few times over the last decade orso.... however, until a month orso ago, I havent went more than a few days without smoking dope for the last 20+ yrs.... and I miss the dope WAAAYY more than the alcohol...anyday of the week....!!

Godlike, good to hear from you. I know what you mean about the pot... I stopped like 4 years ago, but sometimes I miss it still!
Red, come back, where the hell have you been???
It's great that more people have started joining our chat threads; usually it's just the regulars (Me, Kali, godlike, Jenny, FAN, MHD..). Great to see some fresh faces (err, fresh avatars?).

What I find to be idiotic is when parent's tell their kids a frikin stork brought them to their parent's. I mean yes, kids want to know how they got to be and all, and in my opinion don't need to be told about the birds and thd bee's yet, but come on, a stork!? My parent's just told me as a little girl they made me, and that is what two people do when they love eachother. It is truthful, and was sufficant enough for me. Not to say that is true for all, as everyone comes into the world in different ways, but I think the stork is the wrong way to go about it.

Hello everyone at Metal Underground! I got banned from lame a$$ Blabbermouth last week and judging by the comments I see on this page this website seems like it has alot more chill people than the trolls that make up the "Blabbermouth elite" so I signed up.
Anyway, I look forward to posting here!
Avenged Sevenfold sucks!

165. writes:
Hails, and welcome, Bruno! How might you be? We get a few trolls here, but the great staff here don't put up with them. :)
Doug, much agreed! Thank goodness it's Friday! Would toke up with you if I could, but I am at work and don't have any stuff. How are you?
168. writes:
Right on, you guys definately seem like cool people! I met maybe three cool people in the entire year that I posted on Blabbermouth, and my first post here I think y'all have already matched that.
GodLike- That is right bro, born and raised in Southern California. We do got some killer bud here. I have heard Oregon is the only state that may have better weed, but I have never been there so I cannot comment.
KalisWrath- I am doing pretty well, just nursing a hung over at work after drinking alot of Stella's and Jim Beam last night.
Jenny & MetalheadDrummer- Thanks to you and MetalheadDrummer101! I got it from a Cheech and Chong skit in the movie Still Smokin'!
170. writes:
Diamond Oz- don't even get me started with Blabbermouth! Not only are they narrow minded, but it is so damn political now and when BM is not trying to stir up partisan bullsh** it is basically a metal version of that TMZ website. I think getting banned was a good thing though, because now I'm here.
173. writes:
ah ha... the ol Oregon herb is quite tasty.... I have a nephew that used to live there for a few years.... he has now been in the Redding, Ca area for the last 5-6 yrs..... he seems alot happier there... from the way it sounds...!!
Over this last summer, I had the pleasure of growing the tastiest purple plant Ive ever seen.... WOW.... some of the buds were so dark purple they looked black..... saddest thing is.... Ive had to go clean for work.... so its only a little sample now and then.... as in earlier this afternoon.... mmmm so sticky sweet..!! The rest I have stored away for future reference...!!
175. writes:
What's TMZ? How do you mean political? When it comes to Blabbermouth, I got mixed feelings on them. I respect them for the amount of time they put into their news and everything but I don't like the attitude at all. At the end of the day though, they do their thing, we do ours and the websites communities are very different. What did you get banned for if you don't mind me asking?
178. writes:
I am embarrassed to say that I even know what it is, but basically if People Magazine or the National Inquirer was a TV show, it would be TMZ.
And by political, I mean that it got to the point that 1-5 stories a day would be "Alice Cooper endorses Sarah Palin" or "God Forbid Guitarist endorses Barack Obama" or "Sharon Osbourne Says Only Fools are Republicans" type non-sense.
Don't get me wrong, I think there is nothing wrong with people speaking their opinions and discussing politics, (I feel grateful to have that right in this country) but it just got to be so excessive that it was annoying as hell. I was trying to find Cradle of Filth/Satryicon tour dates, you know what I mean?
181. writes:
Diamond Oz- Oh, I got banned for making an "inappropriate comment" about the Manson Family. Basically I called out a Blabbermouth troll and made him look like a fool so tattled on me to the administrator. My homie Blind Greed was there! LOL
Don't worry, I am not here to make any problems. I find this site refreshing after slumming it in the BM forums for the past year.
182. writes:
Ah I see. We do post some political stuff but not as much as BM. As far as I'm concerned, Sharon Osbourne has no business on a metal site unless she's giving details on Ozzfest. That's it. I don't care who's she's slagging off this week or what her political views are. We've been promoting the new CoF album and tour quite heavily so ya sure to find ya tour dates here!
Now watching: Phil Lynnot's last TV interview. Greatest frontman in the history of rock!

Diamond: Bruno's comment was funny as hell. It's definately not something that should have promted his being banned. However, BM's loss is our gain. Bruno is a funny man and an outstanding voice of reason amongst a pool of idiots (Blabberbabies). I only wish I would have told him about this site sooner.
Bruno: Give me a call this weekend, i'm going out to pick up some more obscure CD's and your advice will be needed.
189. writes:
Thanks Diamond Oz!
I typed in metal news dot com but I had a typo somewhere so I got redirected to a google page that listed Blabbermouth as the first link and Metal Underground as the second. I went ahead and clicked the link to get here, browsed the stories and read the some of the comments, and thought "Alright, this is where I need to be!" Next thing you know, I was registered and posting.

And hey, I disagree about the max payne movie; I think it was pretty good, ya know, once you ignored the nonsensical plot, 2-second action scenes, stupid special effects, sh**ty actors that were'nt Mark wahlberg, and most importantly of all NO TITS! Avenge sevenfold will have to disband and work at WalMart. Scientists will have to work full time on cloning Dimebag Darrel. The word f*** will officially replace hello as a greeting. I will close down Arab countries, built a wall around them and give them weapons to fight amongst themselves. STD's will officially become cool so everybody will try to get one and make me laugh as f*** when they scratch like crazy. Not laughing at least 5 times a day will raise your taxes by 50%. My favorite Slayer though has always been penned by Henneman and from what i've read he has a heavy hand on the pulse of this album (as was the case with Reign). I don't believe that it could be considered a rumor that this is their last album since the words came out of Tom's mouth, but then again; how many farewell tours has Kiss and Ozzy done? We'll have to wait and see I guess, but at least there's something to look forward to. If you watched the video, you probably saw who is engineering... I'm a little worried about that guy.

Haha, last year I was going to this place to go see a local gig, and the paper announcing the show said you should dress in costume. I was like, neh...I'll go normal. So I get there, and I'm pretty happy because no one else dressed up either. As time went by, like, 3 or 4 people actually showed up in costume; me and a few people just giggled at em haha. Jenny want a good horror movie? Try Friday the 13th Part 2. Part 1 has no bearing on it and it is a great movie. The Exorcist is ok. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Original or Remake) is well worth a watch. Creep is another decent movie. Kinda stupid at times though. Last recommendation for the moment is the remake of House of Wax -the one that stars Paris Hilton, i think its well worth a watch. Even if its just for her death.

Great scarry Horror movies: Every thing Irishmetal suggested (except maybe Devils rejects-I was rather disappointed in that one) , HIGH TENSION, Hostel (1-the second one was meh...), Gravedancers, 30 Days of Night, Borderland, Unrest, Ju-On (1 and 2; the Japanese versions of The Grudge), The Devils Backbone, SAW 1-4 (i'm going to see 5 next weekend). That should be enough to get you started
Funny Horror movies: Black sheep (funniest horror movie i've ever seen) - this should be watched with a group of friends as well as Army of Darkness. After you've seen these two you'll wonder why we need comedy movies when we have outrageously funny horrors.
Horror movies... It's what I do.
559. writes:
Devils Rejects was funi bt nasty at d same time. Hostel is good but not as a horror, its more thriller with gore, nothing particularly scary, hostel 2 was great haha. Ju-On is ok bt again it is kinda hard to follow, and nothin particularly scary, I've only seen Saw 1, 2 and half of 3. 30 days of night is a good action movie in my opinion. I want to see Black Sheep, sounds pretty good.
And all the Evil Dead movies are ridiculous.

Irish: I would tend to agree with you, but all easily fit the horror genre. As far as gory thriller vs. horror the same can be said for the chainsaw's, hills have eyes (and many many more). It's a fine line, depending on the person-it could go either way. I didn't have any problem following the Ju-on's, but i've been watching Japaneese horrors for 10 years now, so I get the whole lay out plan they do. Have you seen Old Boy, or Shutter? They were a little hard for me to follow at first but (as is the case with Japaneese horror) it all comes together at the end. Horror, thrill and gore is really all I ever watch. I watch Black Sheep every new Year's eve with a group of friends. It's easily the funniest hooror I have ever seen. Slither was a good funny horror as well (although it was a monster oriented movie and for the most part those just don't do it for me). Have you ever seen any of the horror fest movies? They're about 50/50 regarding good and bad.
561. writes:
I could follow the Ju-on's but a casual watcher wouldn't have a clue wats happening in them.
Horror Fest? No idea so i guess not. I'm really into Slasher films - Friday the 13th Franchise, The Cottage - anything with a big unstoppable evil being is just great in my books, however movies with a good story to them i like just as much ie, the Blair Witch project and 28 days later. Well worth a look is Behind The Mask - The Rise Of Leslie Vernon, its a good movie the plot is pretty good if very obvious but it has an interesting point of view. Check it out on wikipedia.

Np - Anaal Nathrakh - The Destroying Angel

Irish: I saw behind the mask a while back and again I agree it's good. It sounds like we have the same taste for slashers. However, they just don't make enough really good slasher films so I often settle for anything horror related that I haven't seen yet. Have you seen See No Evil yet? It has a big unstopable evil being. The story line was pretty good as well. It was better than I was anticipating. Horror fest is a yearly thing here in the states. They should have been released (at least the first year) across the pond by now. Gravedancers (which I recommended above) is one of them. I believe they have a website as well. Each year seems to have a theme. The first year was more ghost stories than anything else. The second year was mostly monster themes. Hopefully they will do it again this year as well (i'm hoping for slashers this year).

The Strangers..? yeah I seen that one.... it was definatly a bit different... I liked the concept, but for some reason, I just felt that it was lacking something..... give it a look, and let me know what you think of it..??
As for "The Mist".. I grew up a Stephen King fan.... and that was always one of my favorite King writings... as for his books that were made into movies, that is my favorite so far..... OK, I take that back... the original Shining with Jack Nickolson was a great movie..!!
I laughed hysterically at Shaun of the Dead...... and I guess I will be checking out the other Black Sheep too...

I believe it's written somewhere that if you didn't like The Shining you can't call yourself a horror buff.

In this day and age there are so many instructional dvd's and books that lessons are a waste of money, unless you want to be a clone of that instructor and get stuck never progresing (ie Kirk Hammett). I believe that is why most young guitarists today cannot WRITE a song to save their lives, even if they are technically proficient. They just "cut and paste" what they had already heard and/or learned (ie Trivium).

ZT- I agree with your commment about it being harder and harder to be original. I think it has to do with the fact that music is now free. I was born in '84 so I am not as old school as some of the dudes that post here, but I remember back in the day when I had to save up money for a week just to get one album. When I finally got it, I worshipped it. I knew every riff, every tempo change, etc. Now a kid can steal twenty albums in one day and never really understand where the artist is coming from and the "mood" they are trying to convey as a songwriter. That One Guy- I don't doubt that at all. In fact, I bet everyone that posts here was the same respect for the artists that create the music that we all charish. I just think that in general when something becomes free it loses it's importance. Kids today have 100's of cd's, but if you ask them basic questions about bands on their ipod they are clueless. I don't know, I just hate downloading and know that as an adult working full-time and paying my bills I realize how hard it is to make a living and make ends meet.
TOG- I was referring to ZT's comment. I often find myself wondering why kids (and adults) now worship Warcraft or Paris Hilton when I used to worship Tony Iommi

if we don't hit the 1000 post mark by the end of this month, I'm gonna be upset... and a little confused as to how we didn't...
I had heard sabbath and acdc and Maiden way back when I was 4 years old, cuz my dad made me listen, and I love them to this day, but i can't say I listened to metal till i was maybe 14, and didn't start listening to the mildly screaming stuff(like slipknot/As i lay dying/Otep) till i was 15/16.
Then out of nowhere, i was like mid-17, i discovered Lamb of God through a friend, right before they came out with Sacrament, and ever since then it's been an epic journey through metalcore, Pantera/Slayer, death and thrash metal, and the most recent love of mine: grindcore.
At 19 years old today, I don't think i can EVER go back to listening to normal music.
although I do love me some gangsta rap. :D
680. writes:
Gangsta rap is good. I don't like the new stuff that people today call 'rap'. Most of it is crap anyway. I grew up in California in the 90's, so I grew up with house music, decent hip hop, and old school/gangsta rap on tapes so I still like it. The only things I knew about rock when I was little was Static-X, Creed, and one song from Ozzy. My taste in music has changed very much but I think it changed for the better.
NP: "Crossroads" -Bone Thugs N Harmony (I love this song)

normal music haha. It's not neccesarily mainstream stuff. I mean, i listen to metallica and Korn. i would say that's pretty mainstream. so that's not really it.
what i mean is that I can never imagine going back to not listening to metal. For me, Metal is a way of life: I go to concerts mosh my brains out, headbang away, and drink beer with people I may never meet again, and anyone not into metal would never understand that. i scream my lungs out and play guitar not because I think it's a way out of the ghetto, or a way to get rich from my mtv image, but because that's what I love to do.
So Normal music is basically just what i define as whatever normal people listen to. :p

On an Aerosmith note, to sort of stay on topic, I hate both Aerosmith AND Run DMC, that song walk this way keep getting put on every top too hip-hop song lists, but Bring The Noise by Anthrax and Public enemy never even gets mentioned. You have friends that listen to metal but don't like Slayer? Does one of them happened to be named Raymon?
lol no, I don't. I'm guessing you do?
This right here is why I think Slayer is the most Metal band on the planet. I was in a pit for Suicide Silence once, and just as i was getting out, I saw someone hardcore dancing, so I ran back in, sparta kicked him in the chest, and then went back out. At Ozzfest, some dude ran throught the dense crowd with a beer in his hand, completely naked, yelling SLAYER!!!!!!!!!!!!!, and nobody batted an eye, they just yelled SLAYER!!!!!!!! right back at him.
So somebody doing something as mildly irritating as hardcore dancing deserves a kick to the chest, but some drunk bastard running down a hill, essentially rubbing his jollies all along the crowd, gets off scott-free, (and not just that, gets encouragement!) because he yells the word Slayer at the top of his lungs. To me, that just shows how vitally important Slayer is to Metal.

They release them into theaters and you can get either an all day pass or a "split pass" for two days to watch them all. I usually just wait for them to come out on DVD and rent them from netflix and then buy the ones I like. You can usually find them at Best Buy with the "Horrorfest - 8 movies to die for" titles on the front left corner of the DVD. Let me know if you want a list of recommedations from the past two years. I'll hook a brother up.

We've had it looked at by some local classic car dealers, and they say its worth somewhere between 25-35 grand...!! ( now shes not sure if she should keep it or sell it )
She is the second owner, and oddly enough, now that its completed she doesnt like to drive it.... she says its too loud and doesnt drive as nice as her other car........ obviously she is too used to driving her new Grand Am..... and not used to the roar of that much power under the hood....!!

Hah, I just noticed that someone mentioned Teeth. It's actually inspired by a low budget piece of absolute sh** called "Angst" (don't watch it - even if you absolutely adore low budget B style horror movies. You will want to tear your eyes out. Seriously, even if you made it all the way through "Entrails of a Beautiful Woman" you still don't want to watch this) that featured a woman with teeth in her nether regions. "Teeth" is a lot better, and with more characterization, but I couldn't get down with it because literally every single male in that movie either rapes, or attempts to rape, the main character. Her family members, her friends, random people she meets on the street, all attempt to rape her. What sort of universe does this movie take place in? You may also notice that the brother was Matt from the T.V. show Nip/Tuck - what's his deal with always playing an a$$hole kid?

Luckily, I have a buddy I graduated with that owns his own powder coating business so by the time we tear into her she'll be done right from the frame up. He's also a Chevelle junkie as well, so he can hook me up with parts and all. Your pontiac sounds like a monster. My dream car has always been the 69 goat with the 6.9ltr and the midnight special extras. Someday.

I haven't seen actually seen Teeth though, so it does not have the same seal of approval that Midnight Meat Train did.

I am spending Vets Day with my grandfather. He was (is) a Marine who did three tours in 'Nam, wounded twice. The second one was so severe that it ended any hopes he had of becoming a cop after the war. We are very close, so I will be spending the day with him.

Filth was saying it was funny how the "evil man on a mountain in Norway doesn't just f*** men, he f***s a famous fashion designer, and now they're making women's clothes together..." Which reminds me: Even though Gaahl is gay, Dani Filth is still the biggest fa**ot. I was shocked reading it, I had to read it two or three times. Then I googled it. Blabbermouth had the article, I was hoping we had an article here (mostly because I think this place kicks more a$$ than blabbermouth).
But yeah. Gaahl is still the awesome guy whose life and views in and out of black metal inspired me and made me feel like I wasn't crazy, that I wasn't alone. And for the record: if I was gay, I would marry him. Just had to put that out there.

I'm not american so i haven't bothered doing much research into either candidate, but one of the main things i've heard to commend McCain is that he was a POW and therefore a war hero - i don't see how this has a lot of power with it, i mean there are lots of soldiers who go through the same stuff and it just doesn't make sense to me. And I very much disagreed with Palin's views on abortions. So Obama looked like d better candidate from my point of view.
903. writes:
TOG: I don't support a two party system either and I am however, more skeptical of the new president than I was of McCain. McCain at least had proof of the way he voted and although he was a republican candidate he's made more enemies in the republican party than he has friends for the way that he chose to vote on the initiatives set before him. Just ask his good friend Joe Biden (the new VP) about that. McCain took a lot of heat from his own party for doing the right thing and going against the grain of his peers and the conservative agenda. I think what Kali is p***ed about is that on top of all that, he was a war hero as well and knows more about the resolve and commitment of our troops right now than the current president elect. Has anyone given any though of what will happen to our economy if we bring all of our men and women home right now? McCain did and as he said it will be devastating because all of those people will need jobs to come home to and right now there are none. Obabma has a huge task ahead of him in just fulfilling his promise of "change", add in the real issues that confront the next president and I have to worry about our future and the future of our children.
904. writes:
Blindgreed - you have a point that if the army is withdrawn from iraq etc that they will need jobs, but surely it costs more to keep them out there fighting a useless fight that just gets more and more people killed. My problem is that I think I may be too open-minded and I think that maybe Obama WILL change Washington and the country for the better. I just don't see the harm in giving him a chance...

It's twisted I know, but do the math. We don't lose as much as one would think. Besides, they have their own spending budget for the war. Barak himself voted to increase that budget as well. It's a complicated little web this war thing, but if you do some reading you'll see that it's not as costly as first judgemnet and common sense will lead you to believe. I'm not pro-war. I'm not pro-republican. I am just someone who chooses to be informed rather than being led to my beliefs. The election is over and so is this conversation for me folks. We have to deal with whatever comes from all of this. However, I just don't see a very smooth path ahead as many people have been led to believe.

search for em on the net.... these cats are quite large....15-40lbs.... standing almost knee high...!!

Theres not alot we can do without a singer... neither of us want to do the cover band thing anymore.......so we just get together and make our own music..... hoping at some point, someone that can write lyrics and sing, can do something with these tunes..??
Ive mentioned before about this area, being so small, that musicians are hard to come by... much less lyricist/decent singers.... theres a couple guys that fit the bill.... but sadly, the drummer and I have tried working with both of em in different bands over the years.... They both suffer from severe cases of LSD..!!
We have a couple dozen orso "songs" that are only lacking lyrics and vocals... I have a digital recorder...but the damn thing requires a degree in rocket science to run and its outdated as far as technology goes... so until I can update some toys.....we just get together and start playing... every so often something new comes together, and it gets added to the list of "could be" songs...??
Its kinda of a damn shame, considering, I have an entire PA system with mains, moniters, mics etc... all set up at the drummers house.... and neither one of us can sing or write lyrics...

Godlike - Yeah sometimes the ol' herbs enhance your creativity. It's kinda weird when you play high. I tend to come up with some "fusion" riffs. Sort of like Ritchie Blackmore meets Uli Jon Roth.
NP - Megadeth - "Mechanix"

OMFG - Red, my Canadian buddy.... where ya been hiding..?? Hows the lil Red doing..??
TOG - well, when I get some recordings I'll send em to you to...!?! Guess I didnt realize anyone would be interested in hearing what kinda music this old metalhead plays..!!
Shredder - Blackmore meets Uli Jon Roth.... WOW, what a combination...!! They are both amazing guitarists.... Seeing Blackmore live is one of the high points of my childhood...!!
I thoroughly love playing stoned..... we end up making up more new music when we're stoned... the only trouble is...remembering it, the next time we get together ;-)
A half stack eh..?? Any particular brand your lookin at..??
985. writes:
Godlike - lol....that's one down-side while playing baked. You can't remember jack sh**!...it's always good to have a recorder around. As for half-stacks...I don't really have a particular brand in mind. I'm not very materialistic...but I tried out a Peavey & Line 6 and I gotta say, they both blew me away! You said you have a Line 6 with you right?...what model is it? & foremost, how is it?
NP - Led Zeppelin - "Fool In The Rain"

I read some of the posts earlier about my cat.. well, it's one of the newer hybrids, he's about 30 lbs. and stands a little higher than knee high. And he doesn't eat raw meat.. I said he likes human flesh because well, he likes to bite.. hard. If you piss him off, that is. Thought I'd clarify that, lol. But the vet did say he's half leopard, so I'm a bit confused on that.
987. writes:
TOG: I'd like to see your cat. My girlfriend wants to get one of those, the only problem is that they cost an arm and a leg. Why don't you throw some vocals down for godlike? The distance is the only thing holding me back. The trip to rehearsal and back would be a b*tch!!!
godlike: When I get the CD it will take me a couple of weeks to pen something for it. After that i'll take it to my sound wizzard and see what we can do.
Bruno: We've been picking up some cover tunes to add to the song list for our marathon gig at the motorcycle rally. Tonight we'll be churning out The Trooper in your honor bro. Just for sh*ts and giggles we are going to add Burning Inside from Ministry as well as London Dungeon by the Misfits.
Shredder: The line six equipment kicks ass, i'm sure godlike will back me up on that one.
NP: Block - Machine fvcking Head!!!

TOG - if you do some research into these hybrids such as Savannahs.... you'll see that there are several different markings on em.... Im assuming your vet was meaning that its a leopard spotted Serval that it came from...??? 30lbs eh...? Thats a big f^cking cat of any type..!!
Check out Savannah cats on Youtube.... there are a bunch of videos..!!
Shredder - I have a Line6 SpiderII 120 watt 2/10...!! Sound wise=AMAZING..!! For jammin with a band... power wise..it doesnt compare to a halfstack... but if its mic'd or ran direct through a PA......excellent quality..!!
The new Peavey Vyper series amps.... are modeling amps like Line6... I havent tried one... but the reviews of em are amazing....!!
I generally just run my digitech processor through the PA directly.... that way I dont have to haul my amps anywhere..!!

Blindgreed: Lol, I'm not really a good singer, in my opinion. I can do death/black metal vocals, but I don't think that'd fit, lol. On top of that, it'd still be like a 3-hour drive for me over to where godlike lives. It's still in the same state as me, but it's still a b**** of a drive, lol. And as far as my cat goes, we got ours free from my brother-in-law. He got it as a gift from his girlfriend, then they broke up and he didn't want it anymore and couldn't afford to take care of it and get it neutered, de-clawed, and get it all the shots it needs. So we decided to take him in.

TOG: I'd still like to see some pictures of it if you have any. I think godlike is right, it's probably a savannah because they look a lot like cheetah's and from what you've described it sounds like it's an F1 or a F2 (1st or second from the origional breed). godlike has my email address if you have pic's to send I'd appriciate it.

ah.. but we hit 1227 on the first real " a7x chatroom thread" ..... damn that seems like so long ago...!!
TOG and Bg1 - as soon as I get some recordings, I will send it to both of ya.... Im not expecting anyone to wanna travel this far..... for what could be done on computers in our own homes....!!
btw - as TOG said.... his style of vocals probably wouldnt fit.... although maybe a combination of a couple different styles.... sort of in the Mudvayne mold.... now that would be great..!!
Not sure if either of you are Mudvayne fans.... but I sure am..... I love the screaming to clean changes..... as I mentioned before about "our" style of music with the stops and starts etc.....kinda like the tunes Fall into Sleep or Silenced for example

godlike: I was too busy getting my drink on last night and I forgot to check my email. I will check it out this afternoon when I get home. The company is sending me to the NASCAR race tomorrow and Sunday in Phoenix because we sponsor one of the cars in the race. I've never been to a NASCAR race before have you?
Irish: It's your weenie, you can wash it as fast as you want to. lol.

Bg1 - um, not a fan of Nascar racing..... Im more of the drag racing fan..... to me it makes no sense to spend hours driving in a circle when you can hit 300 mph in a 1/4 mile...!!
Im sure it will be a good time tho.... and of course, there will obviously be some eye candy wandering around too ;-)
Thats alright...as for the photos.... I wrote some info and gave ya some background of the GT-37 and its rarity, along with some photos of others for reference..!!
In case anyone is wondering..... Its snowing like crazy here in NE, Iowa.... DAMNIT..!!!!

Godlike: Cool man, I'll check it out this afternoon. I appriciate it. I wasn't too sure about the whole NASCAR thing either but they set me up with a hotel, meals, and pit passes for me and the little woman for Saturday and Sunday so I figured; what the hell? It can't be too bad right? I would totally prefer to do the drags as well, but they weren't offering that up lol. I'm going to keep my fvcking mouth shut regarding the weather here.

godlike: Have you checked out the Blind Greed myspace page yet? We've got some pretty good stuff on there. We also have a site (Blindgreed.com), but I think Rob (my rhythm guitarist) did a better job on the myspace page. If you send your address to me in email i'll send out a copy of our last CD, because we just ordered more copies for the gig next month. We're currently demoing songs for the next release.
branded: We are going to send our demo next week. We wanted to get at least one of our new ones on there before we sent it off. Thanks for the hook up brother.

Hey guys.... Im still here..... I've been on the phone.... Being offered a job... \m/
Its mine if I want it... and even have a week to decide..!! Thats the second one today.... Damn its nice being in demand.... but then again... truckdrivers are in demand EVERYWHERE..!!
branded- ever thought about it..??
Bg1 - havent checked out the Myspace page yet... but Im listening as I write this...!!
I'll listen and give ya feedback after... so far...sounds pretty good.... Wordz is playing now...!!
And I will send you my address in an email later...!!

Hey Blind, I've never been to a race either, but I heard they are hella fun. They can be a little tedious to watch on TV, but the more you do it, the easier it gets to sit through the whole thing. It's 80 f***ing degrees in Georgia in November. I hate this state.
NP: Oh Sleeper- Building the Nations

Bg1 - Ok, Ive listened to all 4 songs.... Thats some good stuff buddy..!!
Wordz is my favorite, but then I really like Blind Greed and The Wreck..... oh alright , all 4 of em are good...!!
After listening to these songs I can only agree with what you said in post#977
"It sounds like we're on the same page musically."
Honestly....its almost uncanny.... I just had my ol ladies 18yr old metalhead son listen to your songs... ( he's went with me and listened to me and my drummer buddy jam a few times) and whats the first thing he said.... "Wow that sounds like the music you and Dave play"..!!
Yeah, I will definately be sending my address in an email later... Actually Im looking forward to hearing Wordz on my home stereo....
500 watts running through Cerwin Vega towers.... its gonna pound loud enough to spank the neighbors walls...!!

godlike: You are putting me to work here buddy. I don't think i've logged into my myspace account for over six months, but i'll add you tonight brother. Did you listen to Consequeces (I can't remember if that was up there or not)? That is another really good piece I penned about a friend of mine that got spun out on meth and shot himself in the head. I was there when he slipped away. That's what the last line of the tune was about (please hold my eye). Thanks for the props buddy. I just got off the phone with a local producer here in town and he is putting together a dime tribute show next month and he asked me to front for the "supergroup" he's putting together for the gig. I was a little shocked because we (Blind Greed) have never played any Pantera covers in our setlist before. Don't get me wrong, i'm honored that he asked me to be part of it, but I don't believe i've ever done Anselmo before. I hope I don't suck. lol.

Blind: That's 2 things I would never spend my money on, grandstand and metallica tickets. I heard the place to be is in the middle. I have a connection over here that can get me into Atlanta Motor Speedway for dirt cheap. When the season comes around again, I will have to take him up on that.
NP: Deadlock- Code of Honor

godlike: I just talked to my friend from Flesh Factor and they are doing the Dime tribute gig and he just requested that I help them out with one song. Broken. I guess I got my signals crossed. Whew. I don't think I could actually pull off a whole set of Anselmo. They say the mind is the first thing to go right? lol

Blind greed- I don't wanna talk about it. That night I had a 100 degree fever so I did not go :(
I think that night I was asleep by nine o'clock. I'm still p***ed about it. I even noticed that Blabbermouth posted a review and pictures from the show that I was supposed to be at.

That was actualy last Wednesday. Regardless, still p***ed. I am not sick anymore, thank God. Hopefully that will be the only time that I get sick this "winter". There are a few shows in my area in December- (2) at the Great Western Forum ACDC & Metallica with Machine Head, Bad Brains at the Palladium- so I may have to attempt to go to one.
BlindGreed- Someone posts as Sharon Tate's Baby?!?! That is funny! I saw that McMan71, aka McMuffin, still posts there. Remember in Natural Born Killers when they have the prison riot and all ithe informants have "Snitch b****" signs stapled to them before they are tortured by the inmates? If I ever saw McMan on the street I would have to put a sign like that on him.
Godlike- How ya doin' man? I see you added your face your avatar. Did you end up accepting that job offer?
1044. writes:
Bruno: Glad to hear your feeling better bro. Agreed about the sign thing. I have a plan for McMuffin. Branded and I are going to mess with him on BMouth. I saw the "Sharon Tate's Baby" posting on a Slayer story. You know what sucks? The douche rocket hates Slayer. Still, I had to Lol about someone using your insult as a screen name.

1045. writes:
Thanks, brother. it is great not to be sick, but I am hungover. LOL
Sharon Tate's baby hates Slayer? That is weak.
Speaking of Blabbermouth, I got banned just in time. I checked it out earlier this morning and the stories were all lame, ie Marlilyn Manson supposedly being asked to perform in person for Obama. The one exception was that there is a really good interview posted with Phil from Machine Head. In the last paragraph he talks about how important honesty is in life. They all seem like really good guys, that is bad-ass that you know them and have chilled with them.
1046. writes:
Bruno: Phil is a really cool guy. I guess you could say he's the quiet one. Him and Dave both. Very cool and laid back. It's a perfect opposite of Deuce and Rob. Those two are absolute party animals. In the end, they're just dudes like you and me Bruno. The only difference is that they get paid to make badass music. It's a great gig if you can get it.

post 1052, no not exactly, but i'm thinking about it. either that or the airforce, or college.
