Mychildren Mybride Parts With Guitarist

Mychildren Mybride has officially parted ways with guitarist Kyle Ray. Here's a statement from the band:

"We know a lot of you have been hearing rumors, and reading stuff on Myspace, and we're sad to annouce its true; Kyle Ray has been dismissed from his position in Mychildren Mybride. Please allow us to explain...

"MCMB has made the decision that we would progress more as a Christian band without Kyle. His personal decision for a lack of faith never hindered the band because of our previous views on being a 'Christian' band. We were just a band with positive, uplifting lyrics, that never shoved anything down anyones throat, not to say we're going to do that now...but because his morals mostly lined up with ours, and as most of you all know he's a genuinely good person, it worked; and we think that because he was in the band for so long we gained a lot of respect from a lot of our fans. Criminal Signs to Massacre Records

Anglo-Chilean thrash masters CRIMINAL has announced their signing of a new recording deal with Germany's Massacre Records. The band will enter the studio in September to record its sixth studio album for an early 2009 release. The follow-up to 2005's “Sicario” will be released in a limited edition package including a bonus DVD.

Vocalist/guitarist Anton Reisenegger states: “It's great to be on a label like Massacre, that has carved its niche in today's overcrowded market through hard work and dedication. We are looking forward to a long and productive collaboration."

“I have nothing but good things to say about the staff at Metal Blade Europe,” the frontman comments on the band's former label, “but the company's priorities were clearly somewhere else, so it made no sense for us to continue working together. I honestly wish them all the
best for the future.”

Formed in the early 90s in Santiago de Chile by ex-Pentagram mastermind Reisenegger and guitar virtuoso Rodrigo Contreras, CRIMINAL were combining elements of thrash, hardcore and death metal long before the term “metalcore” was even thought of. The band enjoyed a meteoric rise to the forefront of the South American metal scene, including five-digit album sales, shows with the likes of Kreator, Sepultura and Slayer and a nomination for Best Rock Video at the MTV Latino Video Music Awards, but was faced with severe personal and business problems around the turn of the decade. Reisenegger and Contreras then decided to relocate to the UK, regrouping in a half-Chilean, half-British line-up. Since then, the band has played on major European festivals such as Wacken and Summer Breeze, as well as
support shows with bands such as Chimaira, Six Feet Under, Brujeria and Lamb of God.

Children Of Bodom Talk About Tour

Children Of Bodom is currently on the road in North America with The Black Dahlia Murder and Between The Buried And Me. Children Of Bodom bassist Henkka Seppälä has issued the following update from the road:

"West Coast is done, so is the plains, and we are now here in the Midwest. San Fran was one of the best I think. Great venue, great crowd, especially right in front of me... Then the warmth ended. Went to Portland and Seattle. So, cooler weather, but good crowds again! Then refreshing dip in the Salt Lake. This venue was new to us, and on the shore of the lake, but it was surprising that there was so many people. Wow, we do have great package here! Then good times in Denver, and crazy sweaty show in Kansas City, and the infamous salsa party after the show. Many blackouts, but we survived. To Illinois. The Pop's, to Minnesota, where the expected happened. The first ones to get sick. No surprise, me, like always and Jaska too. First thing in the morning, hospital, couple of hours there to find out what's wrong. Ten hard medication. So the Myth show was really hard for us. We had good times but physically it was really difficult. House of Blues Chicago is always good, and the sick ones were not so sick any more, but still really hard to pull off a Children Of Bodom show. We try our best. And tonight Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Let's see how the Rave is treating us! Hope nobody's getting sick anymore..."

Children Of Bodom's new album, "Blooddrunk", landed at position No. 22 on The Billboard 200 chart after selling over 19,000 copies in its first week of release.

Henkka Seppälä and Children Of Bodom guitarist/vocalist Alexi Laiho have launched a clothing line by the name of Wildchild Industries. According to a posting on the Children Of Bodom fan site Scythes-Of-Bodom.com, "many ideas for their designs come from Alexi himself, hence the name of the company. Even though Alexi and Henkka are involved with Wildchild Industries and it goes by Alexi's stage name, their products are not Children Of Bodom merchandise or strictly related to the band in other ways."

Judas Priest Guitarist Answers Fans Questions

Judas Priest guitarist K.K. Downing has updated his official website with answers to questions from Judas Priest fans. A couple of the questions and answers can be viewed below.

Q: Throughout your entire career with Judas Priest, what song was the most fun to record?
Downing: "That's a tough one but Chris Tsangarides says when I was recording the solo to 'Victim Of Changes' he saw me throwing the same shapes as though I was on the stage. It was then that he asked his boss if he could work on the rest of the album with us. I guess he thought that we were a bit mad to do that in the studio but I obviously thought that was what you were supposed to do therefore I was obviously enjoying myself to the max."

Q: Where do you spend your down time and what do you usually do?
Downing: "I guess like it is for so many these days, time is our enemy. We seem more than ever to spend too much time working, opening bills and junk mail, taxing and insuring the car, going to the supermarket etc. etc. And doesn't it seem to take forever these days to get anything done? Anyway I am fortunate to have lots of fields and woodland with lakes and streams that I just like to go walking in and through even when it’s raining just to savour what nature has given us. But as you say I am quite the sporty type also and I like to cook and to be honest I don't mind mowing the lawn or driving a tractor or even painting the garden shed. So to sum it up I think I enjoy doing everything, nothing really seems to be a chore as long as I am not standing in a line."

Edguy Frontman Talks About North American Tour

Edguy frontman Tobias Sammet has posted the following message online:

“Why should Hollywood fear us walking its unholy streets? You gotta ask Hollywood itself and it will tell you! Or better: What's left of Hollywood after we've played...

"For the Edguy tour with Kamelot, we'll mainly focus on older material as the new album (Tinnitus Sanctus) is not gonna be released at that point. People wanna come out, have fun, and sing along, so we'll focus on our classic material. Did we choose the set list via democracy or dictatorship? It's kind of both plus the principle of contingency: Every band member writes down his own list of songs he wants to play, we put ‘em into a voting box, and then I draw until I got the list I've written. Seriously, it's no big deal. Sometimes we sit backstage an hour before the show and throw song titles back and forth to keep it exciting to ourselves. We don't wanna impress people with complicated or extremely fast stuff… that's childish. We just wanna make ‘em have a good time, so the songs should have maximum impact. More...

Morello And Slash To Guest On Cypress Hill Album

Billboard.com reports: With his first solo album just out, rapper Sen Dog is looking forward to new projects with his group concerns.

The MC, who released “Diary of a Mad Dog” this week and plans to do some touring soon to promote the album, tells Billboard.com that CYPRESS HILL is “in the process” of making a new album, which will be the follow-up to 2004’s “Till Death Do Us Part.” “We’ve got 30 songs done,” says Sen Dog, who describes the album as “definitely hard-core hip-hop. I wouldn’t say it’s overly hardcore, but it’s definitely a hip-hop album.”

The set will include writing and production collaborations with RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE guitarist Tom Morello on a track called “Rise Up” and with LINKIN PARK’s Mike Shinoda on another song. GUNS N’ ROSES/VELVET REVOLVER guitarist Slash, meanwhile, plays on a tune called “Front Line.” But Sen Dog (real name Serien Reyes) says the final guest list will be relatively small. More...
