Engine Of Pain Looking For Singer

ENGINE OF PAIN, the Heavy Metal band from the South of the Netherlands, is looking for a singer. ENGINE OF PAIN is signed to a worldwide record deal with Lion Music and endorsees of Jackson Guitars, Dean Guitars, Engl amps and Spector basses are searching for a new singer to implement the release of their upcoming 2nd album and also to promote that album after the release (interviews, gigs etc.). For the future a 3rd album is also planned.

Current Style:
The songs for the 2nd album are 90% finished but without any lyrics and vocal melodies. Think about a mixture of Forbidden, Fates Warning, Annihilator, Iron Maiden and Nevermore with heavy parts in between, lots of space for vocals and above all very melodic soloing.

Singer Requirements:
Applicants needn't have the same voice as the previous singer but the band are NOT looking for a shouter, grunter, screamer, gothic etc. ENGINE OF PAIN are searching for a Heavy Metal singer who can sing melodic in addition to possessing a good range and power. The ability to write your own lyrics is also preferred. ENGINE OF PAIN are not looking for a project singer but a new (enthusiastic) steady band member.

Further Questions / How to submit:
If you are interested or have any further questions, send your email to info@engineofpain.com
Also, send your previous recordings (MP3 or link) as well if you have any, so that the band can get an idea about your vocals.

Funebrarum Sign with Cyclone Empire

U.S. underground death metal band Funebrarum has signed to Cyclone Empire to release their first full length of new material since their hiatus four years ago. The band was formed by guitarist Nick Orlando (EVOKEN) and vocalist Daryl Kahan (Abazagorath) in April of 1999, with the intention of creating dark, nihilistic, crushing, morbid death metal. With fellow Abazagorath and Evoken member Dario Derna filling in on drums, the band recorded their debut demo "Triumphant Ascent" later that same year. Though the sound quality of the rushed recording was extremely crude, the material was well received by the underground metal hordes. The core line-up was solidified with the addition of Abazagorath bassist David Wagner providing the destructive low end. The first complete line-up was finalized with the addition of drummer Brian Jimenez. More...

Oh, Sleeper Drummer Ryan Conley Departs

Ft. Worth, Texas outfit Oh, Sleeper (Solid State Records) will soon be without drummer Ryan Conley, who has announced his departure from the band. Here's a statement from Conley:

"There has been some very big decisions made regarding the future of the band and I wanted to let everyone know the new developments before rumors start circulating. First of all, I have decided to step down from my position in Oh, Sleeper, this has been something that's been in the works for a long-time and I'm very happy to say that my relationship with everyone in the band is just as its always been. I love my brothers in OS and will always cherish my time with them and the band. We have had some wonderful fights, held each other together through tradgedy and heartbreak and I've had my 4 best friends for nearly anything that might have come up in my life. We've worked together as a team and I've got no regrets for the long hours that we've all put in together. Music/touring has been what I've done since I was 12 years old and I'm so happy to have been able to tour with all my favorite bands and be apart of a record that is motivating and inspiring. I've never wanted to do anything that was a waste of time and I can honestly say that I feel we put out a record that helped kids push through problems and gave them strength and perseverence.

"Given that this is probably my last time to be able to impact people in this way so I wanted to leave everyone with a few words: We believe in all of you, I believe you are all capable of great things and have it in you to accomplish what you set out to do. Whether that be college or highschool, getting through a divorce, kicking an addiction or pursuing a dream, we want you to know that OS is on your side and thats why we do what we do, WE believe in you and know that we're in the trenches with you, let's do this together, let's not survive, let's conquer, That's how we were made; to brave the waters and attach ourselves to something greater than what we know. Having that said, I want to be clear that my choice to leave is nothing more than a pressing interest and/or calling that requires 110% of my focus and have no other choice but to remove myself from the band. Our tour with Norma Jean and Haste the Day will be my last tour, please come out and tell me goodbye."

Down Goes Down Under and Rocks Perth's Metropolis

A good turnout for a small city like Perth is unfortunately about the size of a bad turnout somewhere larger, however, the streets of Fremantle were buzzing with anticipation on this particular Tuesday night (October 10th) as black-clad metal fans clogged pub doorways along the main drag. Inside Metropolis, the venue for the last date of Down's Australian tour, the feeling was even more intense despite the ridiculous $10 beers. More...

Ephel Duath Releases New Song "Guardian"

Italian avant-garde metallers EPHEL DUATH have released a brand new song from their upcoming new album, THROUGH MY DOG'S EYES.

The song, titled "Guardian" is available for streaming now at the band's MySpace page.

EPHEL DUATH has never been one to take the traditional approach to creating music and their latest effort takes this outlook even further. THROUGH MY DOG'S EYES is based on a bizarre concept conjured up by guitarist and
founding member DAVIDE TISO, in which the entire album is written from the perspective of a dog. TISO explains: "I wrote a few short stories and it was really fun for me to imagine myself as a dog and to imagine the world from a dog's perspective. The challenge was to translate the words into lyrics."

From opening track 'Gift', which TISO describes as being about "A cat that the dog kills for the owner as a gift, and he asks the owner if he is happy with the present," to the thought-provoking 'Promenade', a song about a walk
in the park which takes a twist when the owner questions why he's not as carefree and happy with life as his dog is, the barking mad brilliance runs throughout the course of the whole album. "Every song is a window into the dog's mind or an event," TISO continues, "The album touches on a lot of things, both deep and sometimes silly."

Vougan Signs Online Distribution Deal

Vougan, the progressive power metal band from Brazil, have struck a deal to sell copies of their debut CD, "Mind Exceeding," via online sales through metalmusicpromotions.com.

"Mind Exceeding" was initially released in the latter half of 2007 to a strong response in their home country of Brazil. The band have recently signed a contract with the Japanese label, Soundholic, to distribute the CD throughout Japan.

Metal Music Promotions, LLC (MMP), an independent artist development, music marketing, and band promotion company, have long been advocates of the talents of Vougan. Billed as part of the new model music industry, the company strives to assist unsigned and/or indie artists in career development. Taking the young Brazilian band under their wing, MMP have assumed the role of media contact, and U.S.A. representation for Vougan. CD sales were the next step, logically.

While the web page does make Vougan's debut CD available to many who may have never gotten the chance to purchase it, this is ny no means full scale distribution. MMP is currently researching other options, and looks to distribute "Mind Exceeding" througout The United States, Canada, and Europe in the near future.

Trap Them is readying their new album, "Seizures In Barren Praise," for a November 11 release. Vinyl will follow shortly thereafter.

Once again engineered by Kurt Ballou at Godcity Studios, "Seizures In Barren Praise" shows Trap Them at their most vicious.

"Barren Praise" is a fictional ghost town version of every non-fiction town" says McKenney. "Lyrically, previous Trap Them releases are all stories from people who had lived in "Barren Praise" before deciding to up and leave. This is the story of those who stayed behind to tell the stories of watching everything unfold..." states McKenney.

The band is currently rounding out the final dates for an extensive east coast tour of the U.S. and Canada and has announced a record release show and European tour dates as well. The latest Trap Them tour dates are as follows: More...
