Not a funny joke to me. I went to school with a girl named Amber at Scappoose High School, who would lie to me daily she was "pen pals" with Metallica, and never produced an ounce of evidence. Angered me to no end! She even went so far as to tell me that she sent the band a picture of me and "they would do me, if I was not so young" and the list does not end there either! Every person that has done any reserch on them knows that Kirk is a lacto-ovo veggitarian, and she used to try to sit there telling me that Kirk and I eat the same things. Everyone that knows me, knows full well I inhale meat. The "iceing on the cake" was her telling me that they had my address, and were going to send me a letter. Never got a damn thing, and trust my parents that out of all the metal bands I listened to approved of them. So I am hyper sencitive to this, and liars in general. Glad to know you were joking, and admit it, but still not funny.

On the topic of meeting with bands and stuff - Mikael Akerfeldt signed the CD insert of my copy of "Ghost Reveries" when I interviewed him, which was pretty sweet. I also got to hang out with the guys from Hennes Siste Host a wee little bit, which was a boon as the drummer is friends with the likes of Dimmu and Emperor. The lead singer of At Home In Hell happens to work at the liquor store I frequent, so I get to see him all the time :) Rob Zombie also partied pretty hard at a bar in my town when he came through for a concert, but that was before I worked for Metal Underground so unfortunately I didn't have any good reason to bother him at the time.
