"Since the very beginning the band decided to work only with the best ones. Debut EP 'The Birth of Thunder' was finally mixed and produced by Wieslawscy Bros from Hertz Studio. The band’s logo was designed by Christophe Szpajdel and the cover artwork for 'The Birth of Thunder' EP was created by Mario Lopez.

Kaotoxin records is very proud to announce the addition of French-Bulgarian duet We All Die (Laughing), which features vocalist-extraordinaire Arno Strobl (Carnival In Coal, 6:33) and multi-talented musician and composer Déhà (C.O.A.G., Maladie).
We at Metalunderground are equally proud to be bringing you the U.S. exclusive premiere of the news, along with a teaser trailer announcing the collaboration that can be seen below.
The band was first featured on the title track for label-mates Eye of Solitude‘s digital EP “The Deceit," and will unleash its own debut full-length, titled “Thoughtscanning,” through Kaotoxin on January 14th, 2014.
“Thoughtscanning” marks the return of Arno Strobl to a band of his very own since the demise of Carnival In Coal more than half a decade ago. Arno has been guesting on various projects since then, including his collaboration with France’s 6:33 for the 2013 full-length, “The Stench From The Swelling.”
But We All Die (Laughing) is his very own thing, a vehicle to express dark emotions and feelings and showcase the real him, far away from all of his previous performances, while still displaying how varied his vocal talents are, ranging from crooner-like singing to deep death metal like growls: a trademark is recognized for.
He comments: “Thoughtscanning has been the meeting of three different goals. First, working with Déhà, of course. We really felt we had to record something together. Then getting rid of that 'funny singer' sticker I got through my previous musical works. Last but not least: writing about depression, which was an emergency, and a matter of life and death."
Déhà, the man behind the 33 minute long concept that’s “Thoughtscan,” the only track on “Thoughtscanning,” is a gifted Stakhanovite musician and songwriter, already signed to Kaotoxin records with his own-man dark grindcore project, C.O.A.G.
Besides We All Die (Laughing) and C.O.A.G., he’s also involved in a dozen active projects, including the likes of Imber Luminis, Merda Mundi, Yhdarl, Clouds, and many more. Kaotoxin issued the following statement: More...

TFN Tour: Day 18 San Diego
We wake up in the coach, to a very foggy San Diego day. We soon head to the venue and park the coach. We come out on stage, and the room is fairly full. There is an opening in the middle of the crowd to accommodate a circle pit, with a wall of people facing us at the other side. Weird vibe. We get going, and the people up the front are digging it. Occasionally the pit starts up, only to be completely ruined by our Reggae and Latin stylings. I attempted to encourage them to keep going, they didn't. I think we did fairly well, as the reception at the end was really good, and unexpected given the interactivity (or lack thereof) during the set. Sometimes, audiences stand motionless, just taking it in. "Do I like this? Is it ok to like this?". I believe that was the case in this instance. Still, it was a decent show. We hung out later with DLC, and BOO, had a few drinks, then got on the bus, and pretty much went straight to bed. Jet-lag is catching up. Nite, San Diego!More...
Update: the album stream is no longer available, but you can hear music from the band at Facebook here.

TFN TOUR: Night 1
After a long journey we finally made it to Berlin. Last night we had a German feast at the Hofbräu München. The atmosphere was traditionally German (derrr!) and amazing! There was a trad German trio punching out the hits of a bygone era. Ro and I ordered the meat platter, with every colour from the pork rainbow, with sauerkraut, and gelatinous potato, that would bounce like a superball if you threw it. It was awesome, and we both struggled to finish it. While eating, the dance floor became crowded, and the participants were having a ball, including some buxom waitresses' (I wonder if they get paid for that? They should!). Everybody knew every word, singing, clapping, and dancing with abandon, and it was great to watch! We left for the hotel soon after, where I crashed pretty hard. Great night!
Portugal's Malevolence will be back on November 22nd, 2013 with "Antithetical," a brand new studio album.
"Antithetical" is the follow-up to 1999’s "Martyrialized" that was recorded in Fredman Studio by Fredrik Nordstrom.
Malevolence feels that "Antithetical" will surpass the previous album, stating, "We are at a creative peak right now, and Antithetical as an album reflects that. Everything from the production, to the writing, to the performances are a step up from our last album."
Today we are pleased to bring you the U.S. exclusive premiere of the album's title track, which can be heard below. The band comments: “Antithetical is one of our most forward thinking songs. We explored and enhanced the contrast between elements from the progressive and the extreme metal fields to add another perspective to the whole album.”
The "Antithetical" album was produced by Carlos Cariano and recorded in 20M2SEA Studio by Paulo Pereira in Portugal. Mixed and mastered at Woodshed Studio by V. Santura (Triptykon, Pestilence), the album includes drummer extraordinaire Dirk Verbeuren (Soilwork, Devin Townsend).
"Working with Malevolence was extremely challenging, but in the end the album turned out great,” said V. Santura. “I especially like the overall aggressivity and those few, but very delicate industrial elements - Quite special!" More...
