Emmure Sign With Victory Records
Victory Records has announced the signing of Connecticut/Queens, NY's EMMURE. The band's goal, according to guitarist Jesse Ketive, is simple: "We're looking to be the heaviest, most emotionally moving band out there."
The band, whose members hail from Queens, NY, and Fairfield, CT, hooked up through the Internet three years ago. Since then, they've been writing their own songs and touring DIY relentlessly. They will enter the studio to record their debut Victory full-length in early winter. When asked why the band chose Victory, Jesse says, "Obviously, we know that Victory is the best independent rock label out there. It only made sense to go to the best team. We trust Victory and feel together we can really make the most of it."
Although the band will write fresh material for their debut album, Ketive is confident on what the finished product will sound like. "Expect very brutal rock that's still easy to understand and connect to," he declares. "We pride ourselves on creating very genuine music. We always made music that way and we always will. The only difference now is what we do will be done on a larger scale. How we make our music won't change. We're not going to snap our fingers and become this totally different band. We're going to write the same way and play the same way — that's how we can keep people happy." More...

I Debut To Receive U.S. Release In November
I, the new band featuring Abbath (IMMORTAL), Ice Dale (ENSLAVED, AUDREY HORNE), TC King (SAHG, ex-GORGOROTH) and Armagedda (ex-IMMORTAL), have completed the work on their debut album, due for release in North America on November 14 via Nuclear Blast Records. Recorded in Bergen, Norway's Lydriket Studio with Geir Luedy, and mixed by Peter Tägtgren (IMMORTAL, DIMMU BORGIR, MARDUK), "Between Two Worlds" "will kick your teeth in and break your back!" according to the band. "Heavy, groovy, melodic, atmospheric, heck — call it even catchy — THIS ALBUM IS A MASTERPIECE!"
Decibel magazine had this to say about "Between Two Worlds": "Everything about the debut album from Norway's I screams black metal, excepting the death 'n' roll guitar riffs that pervade throughout. Abbath has managed to fuse his signature snarl with MOTÖRHEAD-styled rock and Demonaz's BATHORY-influenced lyrics in a way no band has previously attempted. IMMORTAL fans will surely embrace the band, as will extreme music newcomers that don't know the band members' history. This is a worthy new start for these scene mainstays."

Glenn Danzig Unleashes 'Black Aria II'
Though he made his reputation with his uncompromising metallic rock and hardcore punk, Glenn Danzig turned heads by debuting at #1 on Billboard's classical chart with 1993's "Black Aria", a darkly beguiling interpretation of the "Paradise Lost" story that blended orchestral, Celtic and other forms to tell the epic tale of Satan's rebellion. On October 17, Danzig will release the eagerly awaited "Black Aria II" (evillive/Megaforce), which takes on another rebel of ancient lore — Lilith, Adam's wife before Eve.
Produced, written and — with a couple of exceptions — performed by Glenn, "Black Aria II" employs thundering organ, otherworldly chants, operatic lamentations, poignant strings, ominous percussion, ritualistic chimes and other mysterious sounds to weave its spell. More...

Concert Footage of Celtic Frost Air On British TV
CELTIC FROST's sold-out concert at the Mean Fiddler in London on August 19, 2006, was filmed for broadcast by Redemption TV. This show marked CELTIC FROST's return to England after 16 long years, and the audience had come to celebrate the occasion in uproarious style at the packed and blisteringly hot venue at the heart of London. The only source of mild discontent was the Mean Fiddler's strict early curfew, which forced CELTIC FROST to play an abbreviated set.
Said Tom Gabriel Fischer: "We are going to make up for this when we return for the proper European tour in early 2007."
Also filmed was CELTIC FROST's epic and universally acclaimed nightly headliner performance at the giant Wacken Open Air festival in Germany on August 4, 2006. This footage is scheduled to be broadcast as part of the legendary Rockpalast series on German TV. More...
Every Time I Die Confirm New Bassist
Every Time I Die recently parted ways with bassist Chris Byrnes and have now confirmed that his replacement is none other than rumored former The Chariot bassist Keller Harbin. The band spoke to MTV about the departure, saying:
"Our bass players are like Spinal Tap's drummers: They just spontaneously combust, We had gone over a year with the same bass player, and that just doesn't happen in our band. If he didn't quit, we probably would have killed him and eaten him."
But apparently, the decision was due to money issues. While Every Time I Die resides in Buffalo, the ex-bassist lives in much-less-affordable New York City. Frontman Keith Buckley explained:
"He really couldn't afford it on our touring schedule and salary, He got a job offer at salary with another band doing sound, so he took that."
He declined to name the band Byrnes has joined. The band promptly replaced Byrnes with Keller Harbin, who, along with Joshua Beiser, left Christian metalcore act The Chariot in June.

MSI Want You To Help Them Write A New Song
Mindless Self Indulgence have come up with yet another crazy scheme; a 'choose-your-own-adventure' song. They want the general public (that means you) to help them write a new song with them. How it works is, every week, MSI will ask one question. You can then vote on your most preferred answer. At the end of the week, the answer with the most votes becomes part of the song. Thus, once the song is finished, the band will be able to shift blame squarely on your collective laps. The polls on which you can vote will be posted in the blogs section of MSI's MySpace page. The first asks whether the song should be an original or a cover song.
