Obsidian Kingdom Reveals New Album Details
Obsidian Kingdom has announced that they will be releasing their new album "Meat Machine" on September 25 via Season of Mist. The full-length is a harsh sonic journey, abject and stentorian like a love letter from a school shooter. The perverse album is a rough drop into a nightmarish world of forbidden desires, frustrated sexual urges and the dark realms of the subconscious mind.
In conjunction with the announcement, the band has unveiled the intense and heavy first single, "Meat Star," along with a stunning new music video. Directed by Ferran Ureña (Vivir Rodando) and Eric Morales (Universal Music Group), the video features a top-notch production that weaves together a tale of humankind's primal nature. The video can be viewed below!
The band comment: "Reminiscent of the magickal works of Alejandro Jodorowsky or Kenneth Anger, 'Meat Star' is a bizarre dream-like odyssey where symbols old and new walk hand in hand to convey a powerful message: the meaning of your existence will eventually find you, and the price will be some kind of death. 'Meat Star' is a song about accepting hardship and pain as a means of discovering your true purpose, and the transformation and sacrifices you must undergo once you've committed yourself to that very goal. It is the soundtrack to the crucifixion, to the dismemberment of Dionysus and to the drowning of Osiris. It is an ode to the regenerative power of endings, once you’ve realized that surrendering is the only way to win." More...

Black Fate To Release New Album In October
Rockshots Records is proud to announce their latest signing of Greece's Black Fate for the release of the prog power metal band's new album "Ithaca" due out October 23rd, 2020. With their heartbreaking world-class vocals, catchy hooks, and lyrics, along with crashing guitar riffs, haunting melodies, and furious technical and melodic solos, Black Fate continues to satisfy bands with the release of their 5th studio album. "Ithaca" was mixed and mastered by Steve Lado and follows full-lengths "Between Visions and Lies" (2014) (Ulterium Records), "Deliverance of Soul" (2009) (Asiral Records), "A Piece of Dream" (2002) (Secret Port Records), "Uncover" (2001) (Secret Port Records).
The band comments on the release of "Ithaca":
"'Ithaca' is melodic, technical, and groovy, but also a bit dark. It has beautiful and strange melodies with powerful emotions. We believe it's an album for all kinds of metal audiences. We hope the fans will see it the same way. We see ‘’Ithaca’’ as a very integrated album. Fans who have followed us over the years will also notice many changes in the songwriting process, we concentrated to find the best form and the best overall result for every song." More...

Loudblast Reveals New Album Details
After 35 years, Loudblast remains a unique entity of fully dedicated musicians churning out some of the catchiest death thrashing head banging madness.
Loudblast have been recording their new album, "Manifesto," at Vamacara Studio in France. It is produced by HK Krauss and band leader Stéphane Buriez. "Manifesto" contains 10 new songs (and several more bonuses recorded for limited editions).
The cover art was made by Eliran Kantor who once again achieved a stunning piece of work: "Stéphane told me about the album title, and I came up with the idea for the cover late at night while I was trying to fall asleep: I pictured a book that instead of bringing enlightenment (usually portrayed by rays of light), is emanating shadows. A dark cast revealing the evil nature bubbling in black tar beneath those who read it."
Band guitarist and front man Stéphane Buriez comments on its musical side: "This album has a particular feel for me, the themes refer to the chaos of life as such, to the chaos of society, the darkness of man revealed through his everyday actions. In Manifesto there’s the unhealthy side of our previous album Burial Ground, the atmospheres of ‘Disincarnate', ‘Sublime Dementia' and ‘Cross The Threshold', just a real Loudblast album!"
New member Frédéric Leclercq (ex-Dragonforce - bass) adds: "While we kept certain elements of Burial Ground, especially in terms of darkness, there was also common goal to go back to the roots of Loudblast. Stylistically, a balance between the brutality of Disincarnate, and the technicity and melodicity of 'Sublime Dementia.'"
"Manifesto" is scheduled for an early November 2020 release. More...

Endast Returns After Five Years
Montreal’s Endast have been silent since 2015 after calling it quits and ending their decade long career. However, one of the silver linings of the global pandemic was the core members of the band reuniting organically and committing to release a new single. As vocalist James Arsenian puts it:
"My brother Chris presented me and the other boys in the band with the idea of writing a new Endast tune. We haven't written music together in years, so we were all pretty stoked to put this together, even if we had to do it remotely and apart from each other. The result is a familiar sound with a newfound level of aggression. This is just the start."
The single "Standby To Get Some" is fresh, yet familiar; a track long time fans of the band will appreciate and one that will garner them new fans hanging out in every corner of the world. Starting with a somber melodic intro that breaks into classic Endast breakdowns, and gritty, aggressive vocals, Endast proves they can still bring it.
As one of Canada’s most prolific metalcore acts, Endast has toured the country extensively and recorded four full-length albums. Now they have returned with plans to release more singles and they are currently working on a music video for the single which will be released in the future. More...

Black Sun Posts New Single Online
Well known in their home country of Ecuador and South America for supporting bands like Judas Priest, Kreator, Firewind (Immortals Tour 2018), Edguy, UDO, and more. Heavy metal trio Black Sun will be releasing their new EP "Silent Enemy" on September 4, 2020, via Rockshots Records. The EP follows the band's three previous albums "The Pupetteer" (2017), "Dance of Elders" (2010), and "Tyrant From a Foreign Land" (2015).
During the production of Black Sun's new material, the band parted ways with their longtime lead singer. Under the guidance of the EP's producer Nino Laurenne (Emma Winner – Finnish Grammy, Hevisaurus, Amorphis, The Rasmus), Black Sun found ways to complete the EP with guest singers on all the tracks. Guests include Finnish metal legends and talents like Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica), Lordi, Noora Louhimo (Battle Beast), Pasi Rantanen (Thunderstone), Elias Viljanen (Sonata Arctica ), Netta Laurenne (Smackbound), Jukka Pelkonen (Omnium Gatherum), Asim Searah (Wintersun/Damnation Plan), Topias Kupiainen (Arion), Henning Basse (Firewind), Petri Lindroos (Ensiferum / Norther) and JF Aguirre (JF Aguirre Project). All come together to create a powerful and catchy metal hymn.
The band adds:
"This EP is a new beginning for Black Sun, the tracks were written during the touring period for the last album. However, during the production and recording sessions, the former singer was removed from the band. Consequently, the songs changed, the band had more flexibility and freedom on where to take these songs. Hence, the featuring of many different singers is what makes this EP unique. We can't tell you exactly what will happen next, but we can guarantee this is only the beginning of an exciting new chapter, a rebirth that will bring much more music soon enough." More...
