Vanishing Point Posts New Lyric Video Online
Australian progressive metal veterans Vanishing Point has uploaded a new lyric video for the song, "Salvus." You can check it out below. The song comes from the band's forthcoming new album, "Dead Elysium," which will be released on August 28th through AFM Records.
Frontman Silvio Massaro says of "Salvus": "You know there are times and moments in ones life, which are completely put into perspective. There could be many things that happen in your life that you wish you could relive or wish you had done all again. Truth is no matter how hard you try to reach out and take back the time that escapes you like smoke in the air from every birthday candle you blow out. Salvus is a reminder to simply STOP and try not to think about the mundane routines and step outside yourself and look at the ones around you that truly mean more to you than life itself. Because after all 'We don't have to change the world' but we can cherish every single moment and memory of those you love past and present." More...
Necrophobic Reveals New Album Details
By unleashing the single/EP "Mirror Black," Swedish blackened death metal legends, Necrophobic, kick off the campaign for the release of their undoubtedly most diverse and elaborated album to date "Dawn Of The Damned," which is going to be released on October 9 via Century Media Records worldwide.
"Mirror Black" comes together with an official music video created by Magnus Göthlund (Director) and Henrik Christoffersson (Director of Photography). Check it out below.
Necrophobic commented as follows about the clip: "The video for ‘Mirror Black‘ was shot on two different locations in Stockholm. We wanted to manifest the bright and the dark side of the portal to the underworld. The song is about a journey to begin through darkness and fire. This is where the damned takes the final step into the pitch black depths of death. On to the other side where a new dawn awaits."
The "Mirror Black" EP features a brand new track plus the previously unreleased live recording of classic song "Darkside" and is available in the following formats here.
- Black vinyl - 300x copies via CM Distro Europe + CM Webshop Europe
- Clear vinyl - 200x copies via CM Distro Europe + CM Webshop Europe / USA (Sold out!)
- Transparent magenta vinyl - 200x copies via CM Webshop Europe

Curses Posts New Visualizer Video Online
After releasing their single "The Door In The Wall" a few short weeks ago, West Virginian metalcore upstarts Curses have garnered massive anticipation for their sophomore full-length, "Chapter II: Bloom," that’s due out from SharpTone Records on August 7th. Today, the band is back to offer another taste of the record with the single "Wú Wéi" and an accompanying visualizer that can be viewed below.
"Roughly translated, Wu Wei means 'not forcing' or 'effortless action'. This song is about recognizing the true reality that surrounds us all, the reality that we are all deeply connected to one another and interwoven with the events and world around us. It's about acknowledging and flowing with the drift of life and its ups and downs." - Curses More...
The Absence Finishes Recording New Album
The Tampa, Florida-based melodic death metal group The Absence have finished recording their as-yet-untitled sophomore effort for M-Theory Audio, which is tentatively set for an early 2021 release.
The new album – like 2018’s A Gift For The Obsessed – was recorded and produced by drummer Jeramie Kling and guitarist Taylor Nordberg at their own Smoke & Mirrors Productions in suburban Tampa, and is currently being mixed at Sweden's legendary Fascination Street Studios (Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy, Kreator) by Ricardo Borges. Additional information about the release will be revealed in the coming weeks.
Says bassist Mike Leon, “This record has a lot of my favorite music that the band has ever created, and it has pushed the boundaries of what I thought was possible for us beyond my wildest dreams. The fact that the gentlemen at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden have lent their masterful ears and knobs for the mixing and mastering process just furthers the excitement! It is my firm belief that this is truly The Absence in its strongest, most exciting form, and we can't wait to share this monster that we've created!"
Finntroll Uploads New Song
Finnish troll horde, Finntroll, have unleashed the first single from their seventh studio album - the first in long seven years. "Vredesvävd" will be out on September 18 and the title translates to "Wrath-woven," which aptly implies what the vigorous, unapologetic and ill-spirited record is all about.
Recorded and mixed at the renowned Sonic Pump Studios, mastered at Chartmakers and produced by keyboardist-composer Henri "Trollhorn" Sorvali with vocalist Mathias “Vreth” Lillmåns acting as his right hand, "Vredesvävd" presents the pointy-eared gang of misfits at their finest.
Listen to the single "Ormfolk" below.
The band comments: "After seven years of hiding, 'Ormfolk' slithers it's way to bring the human race a prelude of the forthcoming chaos which even global pandemics are unable to prevent. Catchy melodies, furious speed and the rabid black humppa will ensure that your ears will be hissing for a long time!" More...
Shrapnel Posts New Music Video Online
UK thrashers Shrapnel have released the new video "Begin Again," taken from their third full length album "Palace For The Insane," which was released in May via Candlelight Records.
Premiered by Decibel Magazine, you can now watch the video below.
Guitarist Nathan Sadd comments: "We're really proud to present the new video for 'Begin Again' from the new record!
"The song holds a lot of meaning for us personally, as it deals with a lot of issues surrounding mental health. It came together following the passing of a friend of the band, and the entire UK thrash scene. It was a really shocking and upsetting experience for us, as we all had great memories with him and he was really important throughout the history of our band. Each of us has had our experience with mental health concerns, so it was a cathartic experience creating the song, and talking through some of these things. The song is really different for us, and we love it.
"Costin Chioreanu (At The Gates, Ghost, Arch Enemy), who designed the cover for the new record, did an incredible job on the video. He took a lot of influence from his own experiences in creating both. We were blown away!
"On another level, the song shows that we're not afraid to step outside the boundaries of thrash and bring something new to the table. I don't think many thrash bands could or would write a song like 'Begin Again'. We sought to make something that places us among the best and most diverse thrash bands out there today.
"There was a lesson in this for us. If you're feeling alone, or feeling like there's no escape from the things weighing you down - especially during the COVID crisis - please reach out and talk to someone. People can seem fine, but be struggling inside. Please look after yourselves, and look out for your friends and family." More...
