The Southland Times yesterday revealed the store, owned byWarren and Angela Skill, was selling hooded tops with the words "Jesus is a c***" emblazoned on the back.
Sergeant Brock Davis, of Invercargill, said police visited the store mid-afternoon and seized between 10 and 15 hooded tops and long-sleeved T-shirts with the offending words on them. The owner was co-operative, he said. People have been seen wearing the tops on city streets in the past week, with a 68-year-old visitor to the city saying she was horrified when she saw a man walking along Dunns Rd with the offending words emblazoned across his back.More...

"Ladies and Gentleman, we proudly present the cover of our new album 'Carnival Cadavre.' As with our last album we've drawn on the proven work of Björn Goosses from Killustrations. And we weren't disappointed!
"An artwork 'having hand and foot (German saying for 'holding water')' in the true sense of the word! The truth behind the 'Carnival Cadavre' is only revealed after a second glance at the bright fairground and circus atmosphere with Ferris wheel and circus tents. And neither on the cover nor in the songs a lack of blood, guts or Hackneyed's very own black humor can be observed. But see for yourself."
A previously uploaded studio video clip of the band's time recording the new album can be found at this location.

The band will be on tour in Europe and North America later this year. Tour dates are as follows: More...
On Day Two, the scene had changed. The street in front of the club had been shut down and made into the fest grounds. One stage was at each end of the street, just over the length of the building. I won’t say that the festival had a lot of space; we were kind of worried about bands overlapping and drowning out each other’s sound. But the rigs for each stage were so loud that that would prove impossible. Vendors also lined up between the two stages selling boxes of vinyl, CDs, and even some cassettes. There were t-shirts galore with hideous pictures and illegible logos. I was really amused by the black metal face-painting stand where you could choose from KISS, Immortal, King Diamond, and your other favorite corpse-painted rockers. Inside Sonar was a new merch room that was so constantly crowded and oddly arranged, it kind of looked like a beggar’s village with really cool wares for sale. With so much drink, food, merchandise from every band in existence, and amazing live shows all day long, you couldn’t ask for more. More...
American metal veterans Machine Head has announced that their new, as-yet untitled studio album, their first since 2007's highly acclaimed, "The Blackening," will be released through Roadrunner Records on September 27th in North America. In the meantime, fans will be able to hear the first single from the record, which is entitled, "Locust" as from June 14th, when an advance mix of the song will be available to purchase from iTunes as part of the Rock Star Energy Drink Mayhem Festival sampler.
"We've been working on the record for a few weeks now, and when the opportunity to be a part of the free Mayhem sampler came up, we did not want to pass up the chance," said Machine Head vocalist/guitarist Robb Flynn. "We're so pumped for our fans to hear the new music that we're so proud of."
Flynn went a little deeper about the meaning of the song, saying, "'Locust' is a metaphor. Locusts fly in a swarm, but they can't control which direction they fly; they float on the wind, they land, cause massive destruction, and then float away on the wind to leave you in the aftermath. The song is a metaphor for a type of person that sometimes comes into your life and has a similar effect." More...
Greek black metal act Naer Mataron has issued the following announcement about recruiting a female vocalist for the new album the band is currently recording:
"Supposedly were we ever asked whether we'd use female vocals in Naer Mataron, the response would be obviously 'No!' Dead sure! But what if we could somehow reverse the question, using the magic of language to give form to another meaning with the use of the same words? What if
we could ask 'Who would be the singer that can give her voice to a brutal black metal act such as ourselves?' Who could be the one to raise her voice, claiming to invoke Thanatos - the Death himself?
"Then, a mysterious, dressed in black, slim figure comes to mind, along with a name that has strongly marked the realms of music for the last 4 decades, either fronting for The Swans or her personal band... Jarboe!
"So here we are, ripping the fruits of a friendship that was born between us and this greatly respected lady, during the 'Mother of Changes' Tour, back in the June of 2009. You will hear her voice in the title track of our upcoming album '???O ? T?????S' (translated 'Long Live Death')!
"You will hear her and chill with fright for the impending Death that her invocation shall unleash..." More...
