We've been talking with bands and fans everywhere to get their mosh pit stories. This week, Zac of Strong Intention shares a story about a house show in Texas that took a turn for the worse:
STRONG INTENTION was playing a house show in Texas once with this killer local band called Sbitch. We were playing in the living room, packed with like 60-70 kids. During our set one kid was thrashing around and ended up completely destroying our drummer and his kit along with it. After we got set back up and starting raging again, a kid decided to create his own version of stage diving, and literally just dove straight out the living room window...the unopened living room window!
While news of Strong Intention has been quiet around here, the band is still playing shows and has a few lined up:
July 5th Baltimore, MD Sonar w/ JUCIFER
July 7th Danbury, CT @ Heirloom Arts w/ JUCIFER
July 8th Brooklyn, NY @ St Vitus w/ SOURVEIN
July 9th Frederick, MD Krug's Place w/ JUCIFER
July 10th Baltimore, MD Ottobar Baltimore w/ SUFFOCATION and REVOCATION
Be sure to check back every Tuesday for more pit stories.

To have the opportunity to contribute to such an incredible cause is nothing short of an honor. I had the chance to spend some time at the camp recently, and to see what they're doing warmed my heart and soul. I hope anybody reading this will take a few minutes to check out this wonderful organization. Together, the camp, my wife and I are putting together some BIG ideas for the future and we are simply thrilled to be a part of it!”

Sweden's Hostile Cell officially called it quits back in April, and since then member Martin Söderqvist has been working with new band Debbie Ray. Martin has now issued the following announcement about forming another group:
"Apart from playing with Debbie Ray, which is pretty much standing still right now because we are in the process of a slow recording, I am in planning mode for a brand new band.
"The drummer will most likely be H-Can from Debbie Ray, and that's all I know right now. It will definitely be music that is unsensitive to trends, something that I want to play for the sake of creating good, hard music.
"Rock n hardcore, we'll see what comes out of our twisted minds once we start writing material. Right now I've just started looking around for a guitarist."
U.K. act Conspires To... recently released a new album titled "Redemption." The band has now checked in with the following update about working on new material:
"Well not wanting to be a band to sit back and relax, things have been pretty hectic over the last few weeks. For a start we have been busy trying to promote the new album 'Redemption' online as hard as we can. If you have n't downloaded a copy then you can from this location.
"We have also been working on the rest of the CD art with a view to making a physical CD available in the near future. We will keep you posted on that. Here is a sample of what you can expect.
"On top of this we are well under way with album number 2, with a whole host of songs in their early stages of development. With no shortage of material we are hoping to be able to have the next release shaped up fairly hot on the heals of our last! We are also creating a video diary of the creation of a new song from first ideas to finished article so keep popping back to our youtube site for look soon.
"Anyway more updates to follow, plus some ramblings about the metal image, so keep checking in with us. Thanks for the ongoing support it is awesome!"
Alerion has issued the following announcement about contributing a song to an upcoming compilation album from Femme Metal Records:

"We are proud to be featured among them. The final tracklist, release date and artwork are still to be announced, although an unofficial temporary cover already exists and is displayed here. If more information becomes available, we will let you know."

Chicago thrashers Diamond Plate have released a new track titled "At the Mountains of Madness," which is the first song to be released from the band's forthcoming debut album "Generation Why?" The album was recorded with producer Neil Kernon (Judas Priest, Nevermore, Deicide, 3 Inches of Blood) and is due to be released on August 29th through Earache Records.
You can listen to the new track now at this location (e-mail required). Diamond Plate lead guitarist Konrad Kupiec comments:
"All of us couldn't be more excited to release 'At the Mountains of Madness' as the first song off 'Generation Why?'. With the original video for this song nearing 100,000 views on YouTube, 'Mountains' is arguably the song most people know us by, and we want to give old and new fans the perfect representation of how much we've improved over the past few years. With this album, the band sounds tighter and heavier, while the song-writing is more focused than ever.
"The song is inspired by the H.P. Lovecraft novel of the same name, although we went deeper than the classic horror story of the novel and made our own social commentary present in the lyrics. As to our theme, that is for the listener to interpret and figure out.
"Right now we're actually hard at work at writing for the second album (very inspired and not wasting any time haha), while simultaneously preparing to hit the road for the first time in August. With touring plans already in the works until next year, we will be out for a long time."
Diamond Plate will also be joining Kittie and Dirge Within on a U.S. tour. Details are available at this location.

While not a "concept album" in the traditional sense, the record is largely based around the various ways humanity often suffers under the burden of religion and politics. “I always put a lot of effort in the lyrics,” comments vocalist/guitarist Patrick Mameli. “I never felt the need to write ‘gore’ lyrics, like so many other bands do. I am aware of what is going on in the world and I have the feeling that I have something to say about it.”
The "Doctrine" track listing is as follows:
1. The Predication

Elis announced in May that it had parted ways with vocalist Sandra Schleret. The band has now issued the following statement about recruiting a new singer and writing new material:
"It's now a couple of weeks ago, since the announcement of Sandra's departure. We want to take the opportunity, to say a few words about that and give you a quick view to the future of Elis.
"We knew that it wouldn't be easy to go on with Elis after Sabine's death and therefore we needed a strong personality as our new singer. We found this person in Sandra and it felt like we have sought and found each other.
"We played great concerts and tours and we created a brilliant record, 'Catharsis', in which we've put a lot of heart blood and personal feelings. But as time goes by, Sandra's and our interests moved in different directions and it became more and more difficult to find a common denominator. So we weren't very surprised as Sandra told us, that she considers leaving the band. We talked for a long time and came to the conclusion, that it would be the best for all, to part ways.
"Yet again, we had to decide, if we should go on with Elis and how it should look like. We agreed to give it one more try, but with a fresh start. We felt that a cut has to be done, to leave the past behind and move forward into the future.
"We found a great new singer and are writing new songs right now. Our goal is to enter the studio by the end of this year to record a new album. We also are rehearsing regularly, to get ready for the stage as soon as possible. That's it for the moment, more news will follow soon!
"We want to thank Sandra for the good times we had and wish her all the best for her personal and musical future!"

"We hate canceling and feel bad about this. It is a total drag on every level. We were looking forward to all these shows, will return and make it up to you.
