Italian trio Ufomammut has announced the band's final days of live performances in support of the "Eve" album (reviewed here). After touring on the album throughout Europe for the past year, the band will play the album live over the coming months on several short tours between July and early October, including a July tour as direct support for Neurosis.
Ufomammut commented on the upcoming July tour: “Neurosis are one of the most important and influential entities in heavy music and obviously it’ll be great for Ufomammut to play before them during their Summer tour. But sharing the same stage has even a more special meaning for us. We surely grew up in different places, we have different background and different experiences, but we feel like our attitudes are very close and similar, beyond the mere musical aspect. That’s why we are honored and pleased by Neurosis invitation.”

Sepultura has posted the first in a series of track-by-track breakdowns online for the band's new album "Kairos." The band's commentary on the first four tracks is as follows:
"This album is inspired by ourselves, Sepultura, our whole history and all the experiences, after 26 years of a career, with many changes inside and outside the band, we are still here, in 2011, touring, playing, recording and doing what we love the most, to live for music. This is the kind of feeling on Kairos, all the lyrics are talking about us, our families, relationship with managers, labels, press and the fans, our experiences on stage and touring the world. It is a very intimate album, very personal views. Sound wise, it have a little bit of everything we did in the past, plus new elements that we always bring to every new Sepultura album.
"1- SPECTRUM: The first song of the album express what the album is all about, our experience being Sepultura, all the stuff we saw and lived in this 26 years. The way we see the world, the way we experienced the world, the whole spectrum of our living. The riff is very simple, yet very powerful, it sets the tone for the whole song, kind of an hypnotic effect, it was the first riff that I wrote for Kairos and it turned out to be the first song of it.
"2 - KAIROS: The title track, what we talked about here is a very special concept of time, which is not chronological but a specific moment of opportunity and change, the present is what it is, the past is a collection of kairos moments and the future a consequence of the present, it is a very powerful concept which gave us the possibility to talk about ourselves and what is Sepultura today, NOW. It is a song with three different vibes, starts with a heavy, slow riff, then goes to a intermission, which is the lead part and then it ends with an upper beat with heavy picking riff.
"3 - RELENTLESS: This song talks about our endless fight to keep our music going, regardless of any difficulties we had passed or are passing, nothing is easy and demands a lot of energy and work. We never lost sight of our goals and we never stopped, with integrity and respect. The music brings more of the old feeling of trash metal, raw and direct.
"4 - JUST ONE FIX: A Ministry cover, a band that was very influential on Sepultura´s music on the early 90´s, we toured with them in 1992, it was a great tour where we learnt a lot. Ministry showed a new way of playing heavy/aggressive music, pioneers of the industrial metal style."
The album's track listing is as follows: More...

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan-based thrash/death metal trio Untimely Demise has signed a worldwide multi-album deal with Sonic Unyon Metal. The group's self-released debut full-length album "City Of Steel" contains seven tracks and was produced by ex-Megadeth/King Diamond guitarist Glen Drover.
The band commented on its recent recording agreement with Sonic Unyon: "We are extremely excited and honored to be on the Sonic Unyon Metal roster! Joining the likes of legendary Canadian thrash originators such as Sacrifice and Voivod, as well as modern rising talents Augury and Suicidal Angels, we realize that we have found a perfect fit for our sophisticated thrash/death metal sound! We had been in talks with about half a dozen labels that had expressed interest in our band, but none of them hit the nail on the head like the one we signed with. Furthermore, this label has been receptive to our music since we first made contact with them in early 2009, so this isn't just some spur of the moment decision. Working with their talented and passionate team of music fanatics assures that our music will reach the right audience, and ultimately the interests of the art will take precedence over everything else. Totally stoked to see where we can take this thing!"
"We are very excited to be working with Untimely Demise, as we feel they are one of the best new metal bands in Canada," says Sonic Unyon owner Tim Potocic. "The band is dedicated and diligent towards their craft, they have a work ethic not seen in most bands and is a great fit on our roster next to Voivod and Sacrifice."
Sonic Unyon Metal will re-release "City Of Steel" in North America on September 13th, with European release dates to be announced shortly. The album artwork and track listing can be found below. More...

Paul “Ablaze” Zinay, frontman for Montreal-based symphonic metal quintet Blackguard, certainly lives up to his nickname. The highly caffeinated, hyperdriven shrieker radiates an exuberant zest for life, onstage and off, that never seems to ebb. With his hardworking band currently on a promotional tour for the group's new label, Victory Records (starring Otep and also featuring Destrophy, Sister Sin, and One-Eyed Doll), we crossed paths at Jaxx Nightclub in Springfield, VA. Paul agreeably took some time away from his pre-show workout ritual to answer some questions and discuss, among many other things, Blackguard’s adventurous touring versatility. More...

Italian hard rock / metal band Lacuna Coil has announced the band's new album will be titled "Dark Adrenaline." The band had previously commented on the upcoming album:
"This time around music has been our refuge from some of the darkest days of our life and that's why the new songs have such a variety of feelings... some stuff is pretty angry, probably the heaviest we've ever written, some other songs are intense, loaded with velvet dark emotions and there's even a little space for some light at the end of the tunnel. People are askin' me if we're going back to our roots or if we're taking another step forward in a new direction... well to be honest I just feel that this is 100% a Lacuna Coil record and that is what really matters to me. I just love the songs and we felt a big wave of inspiration. The energy with Don in the studio is sky-high and we're ready to kick some ass.
"Collectively, we did so much in between 'Shallow life' and this one. We have lots of different experiences between us. We've been loved and hurt, we grew up, we shrunk inside a little keeping ourselves together and our roots watered and are alive. I still can't believe that the energy in between us is getting better and better, but I guess that's what being a real family means."

Nemesea has issued the following statement about a new version of the song "2012" appearing on the band's upcoming album "The Quiet Resistance:"
"Hey everybody, For those of you who have our live album 'Pure' live @ P3 know that Lasse wrote a song titled 2012. We are happy to announce that a newer (and longer) version of this spectacular song will be on TQR.
"Lasse commented: 'There are a lot of interesting theories about 2012. I've always been fascinated by this subject, so I read a lot about it. I don't know what will happen, but who knows… The song 2012 talks about this subject; December 21st 2012. You wake up and know something is about to happen. You can feel the anxiety and despair. And then…the Apocalypse. The world as we know it has come to an end. The songs ends with an unpleasant kind of peace.'
"You can find the version that's on the live album below.
"Next week we'll play in Eindhoven as special guest for Stream of Passion. It will be another TQR show with new songs on the setlist. Other than first announced the doors to this show will open at 20.00 hrs instead of 20.30hrs. Our show will start at 20.30hrs. So if you don't want to miss anything, please make sure to be on time! More news next week! So stay tuned!"

Anthrax fans are among the most loyal, as they've been waiting a long, long time for new music from their band, and with Joey Belladonna singing with them for the first time since 1990's Persistence of Time, the new music is even more anticipated.
As a way to say thank you to their fans, the band members - Charlie Benante/drums, Scott Ian and Rob Caggiano/guitars, Frank Bello/bass, and vocalist Belladonna - decided to make the new track "Fight'em 'til You Can't" available as a free download, giving everyone a taste of what's to come when Worship Music drops on September 13, the day before the band plays The Big 4 show at Yankee Stadium.

With his own new label, Hank3 Records, and the sense that he has thrown off the chains holding him back creatively, Shelton Hank Williams III, aka Hank3, is coming out swinging this year with the release of four records on September 6th, 2011.
The unprecedented launch, in a distribution partnership with Megaforce Records (MRI), features a broad range of music that bridges more than one head-thumping genre - a familiar theme that Hank3 fans have embraced for years. "Ghost to a Ghost/Guttertown," a double-album set, is a straight-shooting country collection, flavored with Hank3's trademark hellbilly sound, and heavily weighted with Cajun influence and an ambient, lonesome mood - and a few very special guests.
Two more releases are "Attention Deficient Domination" and "3 Bar Ranch Cattle Callin" which are described as "intensely metal-driven records" on which Hank3 plays all instruments. "Attention Deficit Domination" is a pressure-dropping, doom rock statement that has been anticipated by his hardcore fans for years, and Cattle Callin explores a new mind-bending "Cattle Core" sound, featuring Hank3's speed metal woven in and around actual cattle auctioneering.
All three projects were recorded at The Haunted Ranch, Hank3's home and studio that lies on the outskirts of Nashville - a fitting place since the town has never really known what to do with this grandson of the American icon. He finally parted ways with Curb Records January 1.
"I have musical freedom. I'm able to say 'Here's my record' and I don't have to go through a million different channels just to put out a song," he says. "It's all me now." More...

It seems as if Hitler has once again felt extreme heartbreak and anger over a new metal album set for release in 2011. Following his excessive rage towards Morbid Angel's "Illud Divinum Inanus" earlier this summer a new spoof, of the 2004 German film "Der Untergang/Downfall," has been made of Hitler reacting to the forthcoming new album from Swedish progressive death metallers Opeth, titled "Heritage."
