Italy's Pursuing the End has issued the following update about working on a music video for the track "Withering" and working on new material:
"Sorry guys for our silence about 'Withering' during the past weeks. The material that we shot, in March, was really huge: a lot of different scenes was filmed and for a 4-minutes videoclip is really something very arduous choosing the best images and often this process is followed from a lot of developments.
"During the last two months, since the editing process has began, 'Withering' changed so much and finally we are arrived in the last steps of all the creation of a videoclip: the grading process. Yes we can say now: the work is 80% done...Try to be patient for a little period of time more. When the video will be finished will be posted on our YouTube official channel shortly after. So we haven't now a specific date but it will be soon, and stay tuned because 'Withering' is coming...
"Meanwhile we are woking on new songs that will be played live this summer, and pre-produced for our debut album during the next weeks...we can only say that there will be also previews! And they will be mind-blowing... Thanks for all your loyal support!"

New York's symphonic metal act New World Symphony has posted the new song "Reality and the Dream" online for streaming and download, which can be found in the player below. The band also commented on the release of a new album:
"The fans have waited three long years for this release, and finally they will have it this summer! This full length concept-album, 'Beginning of the End,' the freshmen release by progressive metal project New World Symphony, explores the depths of the human heart. Searching through a broken world in the midst of catastrophe to hold on to something true and beautiful, we follow the story of Grace and Jack.
"Band members Shanna Becker (Vocals, Keyboard, Violin), Matt Becker (Guitar), Aaron Yerdon (Guitar), Shawn Dandrew (Bass), and Justin Merolla (Drums) hail from the Albany, New York area. The new release is just the beginning of a wonderful and strange journey for the band, and for the characters of Grace and Jack. This album is part of 1 of what they hope to be a trilogy of albums in the future, where the story will be completed.

Indian black metal act Heathen Beast has released a new music video for the song "Contaminating The Ganges," which comes off the band's latest EP "The Drowning of the Elephant God" and can be viewed below.
Heathen Beast also commented on its sound and lyrical themes:
"Heathen Beast believes in no god and no religion. We write about the world and it's religion as we see it, we write about how it encompass and controls the masses in our country India. Our music symbolizes self belief and the fact that we choose our own path and make our own destiny. There is no God that writes your life and not everything that is bad in this world is a consequence of that karma. You are responsible. Heathen Beast plays a form of brutal metal to connect with those who think like we do. The Heathen Beast Shall Be Unleashed Upon Thee.
"Heathen Beast is the formation of three. Carvaka who believes religion was invented and made up by men, having no divine authority. Samkhya who denies the existence of God. Mimamsa who rejects the notion of God and says that human action itself is enough to create the necessary circumstances for the enjoyment of its fruits."

Scottish death metallers Cerebral Bore have confirmed dates for an Eastern European tour, which kicks off on September 5th in Szeged, Hungary.

The band has also confirmed three off-date shows during the Summer Slaughter tour, with Goatwhore and Exhume.
Cerebral Bore guitarist Paul McGuire comments:
"Time to score another seven new countries off the list on this one, and great to do it with two bands who we are already close friends with. We will be starting this tour less than a week after Summer Slaughter, so we should be on top form as far as our playing is concerned, which is always a good thing when playing to new audiences. A stop at Bathory castle is also in order!"

German thrashers Exumer have been confirmed to appear at this year's Rock Hard Festival in Milan, Italy on September 15th, 2012. Also on the bill for the festival are Danish thrashers Artillery, who have just come off the co-headlining "South American Damnation" tour with Exumer through Argentina, Chile and Brazil.
Exumer's management is now working on on a European installment of the Exumer/Artillery package and are planning additional dates with both bands throughout Europe in September/October 2012.
Vocalist Mem V. Stein comments: "Our 'South American Damnation' tour was such a success for both bands, us and Artillery, that we did not hesitate to ask our management to replicate the package for Europe. This means that we have to put our North American dates, which were planned for the fall, on hold until spring 2013. There were no alternate time frames to bring both bands back out on the road and we didn't want to risk losing the opportunity altogether to bring the package to Europe."
The line-up for the Rock Hard Festival Italia 2012 features among others Marduk (SE), Bulldozer (IT), Artillery (DK), Exumer (DE), and Immolation (US). More...

Ritualistically adorning the stage with lamb bones and decaying rats, Indiana black metal miscreants Ptahil are known for their moody, violent and lawless exercises in live musical mayhem. At a recent ceremony at The Brass Rail in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the onstage chaos led one fan to bite the head of a decomposed rodent.
Comments Ptahil drummer, Mhaghnuis: “It is good to see that when a human being is bombarded with specific emotions, smells and sounds that they can commit actions that are normally unthinkable to them. We are proud that our music and presence helped this person do something unthinkable to any current standard of social behavior.”
Added concert attendee/rat nibbler Zac Bau: “I felt it necessary to step outside the rest of the fans behavior and show that it only takes one person to break the monotony of fist-pumping metal fans. Everybody can mosh; everybody can throw the horns but the true metal fan will eat things that the spirit of the moment moves them to no matter the rest of the world’s thoughts on it.”
Video of the event in question can be viewed below. Ptahil recently completed the follow-up to "For His Satanic Majesty’s Glory." Titled "The Almighty Propagator Of Doom And Despair," the newest assault of Satanic doom/punk/black metal is slated for release on December 21st, 2012 through Wraith Productions and was written and recorded in acknowledgement to the prison of life and the pursuit of true freedom. Further info to be revealed in the coming weeks. More...
From the mossy underbelly of Portland, Oregon comes the gritty tones of ambidextrous quartet Nether Regions and the release of their debut full-length LP, "Into The Breach" (reviewed here). The following press release was issued about the band:
"Following the demise of Ditchliquor in 2006, bassist/vocalist Joe Wickstrom supplied live bass for Black Elk, Subarachnoid Space and Witch Mountain for three years, before seeking out several choice musicians in the area to form Nether Regions. With thunderous tones that would surely allow the band’s sound to fall under multiple genre sub categorizations, the core Nether Regions sound simultaneously molests heavy riffery with a persuasion all their own, unable to be contained by one simple style tag.
"Into The Breach clocks in with forty-five minutes of original extreme music recorded by Mike Lastra and Mark Ellsworth at Smegmatone, and mixed/mastered by Adam Pike at Toadhouse — both in Portland. Originally self-released by Nether Regions in February in a strictly limited 1,000-run CD pressing, a copy of Into The Breach found its way into the hands of North Carolina-based Abnormal Gait Records who instantly decided that there must be a vinyl version of the album made. After being specially remixed and remastered for the LP version by Adam Pike (Red Fang, Black Elk), the album was pressed on black 140-gram wax, and packaged with cover art crafted by Brandon Munday and Sam Ford, limited to 500 copies."
You can stream "Into The Breach" in its entirety at the Abnormal Gait BandCamp page or in the player below. The track listing is as follows:
1. Into the Breach/Spanish Werewolves
2. Do You Live
3. Your Name is Madness
4. Pale Faced God
6. Blood Ritual
7. A City Far Enough Away
8. Outrun the Sun More...

Ohio's Wolves at the Gate is pushing towards the July 3rd release of debut full-length, "Captors," on Solid State Records with the premiere of the album's second preview track, entitled "Awaken." Check out the song at AbsolutePunk.net here.
"We are really excited to get 'Awaken' out for people to hear because this song really captures the energy we want to bring to our live show," says guitarist/vocalist Stephen Cobucci. "It's fast, fun, and catchy. It also does a great job of showcasing Nick's vocal ability. We've really enjoyed playing this song live on our recent tours as it allows for us to move and have some fun. Being an aggressive song, I also feels that it complements the lyrical content, which focuses on people questioning God through how we respond to the trials in life that we face and how we treat other people."
The following press release was also issued about the album:
"The follow-up to their touted 2011 EP We Are the Ones, Captors finds the band not only living up to but surpassing the huge potential recognized by critics and fans alike. No longer constrained by the limits of an EP, the members of Wolves At The Gate were able to showcase the explosive growth of their songwriting, from luscious, melodic rock tracks to lip-splitting hardcore stomps.
"Produced by Andreas Magnussen (Oh Sleeper, Haste the Day etc), Captors is a blisteringly heavy full-length debut with the potential to appeal to every variety of rocker – from fans of metalcore to traditional metal to mainstream hard rock. It's an album that – like those of some of the band's influences (As Cities Burn, Foo Fighters) - avoids pigeonholes and easy labels."
Heavy metal legends Iced Earth will be touring North America starting next week, hitting the road with Volbeat, Hellyeah and The Sixxis for an extensive 5-week trek. The group will be touring in support of their 10th studio album "Dystopia."

There is a lot of mutual respect and admiration, and I think we are in for a hell of a good time! This will be a package that won't soon be forgotten, I'm sure of that." More...
Dew-Scented has issued the following announcement about a guest musician on the band's upcoming "Icarus" album:
"We're introducing the first of three special guest-musician appearances on 'Icarus!' First one is Rob Urbinati (Sacrifice) – Guest vocals on 'Gleaming Like Silver.'
"Sacrifice is one of the best and most underrated Thrash Metal bands ever and a big influence on Leif for his vocal-work with Dew-Scented. From their debut masterpiece 'Torment In Fire' (1985) to their amazing comeback album 'The Ones I Condemn' (2009), these guys have always delivered trendless, classy Thrash Metal with amazing riffing and tasty songwriting.
"Dew-Scented had covered Sacrifice’s 'Apocalypse Inside' song on 1999’s Ill-Natured album and stayed in casual contact with Rob and Sacrifice ever since. It’s awesome to have Rob now do guest vocals for 'Gleaming Like Silver' in a duet with Leif!"
Rob Urbinati comments: "Sacrifice have been honoured by Dew-Scented in the past with a cover song, now I am honoured to be included on the track ‘Gleaming Like Silver.'"
