Endrah's Debut To Feature ex-Biohazard Guitarist
Sao Paulo, Brazil-based ENDRAH has signed a deal with Germany's Coretex Records for the European release of its first full-length album. The CD will be issued in Germany on Friday, October 13 and the rest of Europe on Monday, October 16.
"Endrah" was produced by Ciero (KRISIUN) and mastered by Colin Davis (VILE). It incudes three tracks from the band's "DEMONstration" demo EP, which featured Billy Grazaidei of BIOHAZARD on second guitar. Relentless, ENDRAH's American singer who replaced Scream S, also appeared on the last BIOHAZARD record, "Means to an End", doing backups on the track "Set Me Free".
ENDRAH recently completed a string of live sold-out club dates and filmed a video in Brazil during the recording of the record. Two fresh tracks are available for listening on the band's MySpace page.
Godsmack Drummer On Downloading One Song At A Time
GODSMACK drummer Shannon Larkin recently told Scott McLennan of Worcester Telegram & Gazette that the fact that the group's new album, "IV", does have a thematic arc makes it a rather risky album to release in the iPod age, especially for a band that has built its career with a string of hit singles.
"The new world of downloading one song bothers me," Larkin said. "Rob Zombie said it best when he said that if you took KISS' 'Destroyer' and just downloaded the song 'Beth', that wouldn’t be an accurate representation of what KISS was trying to get across with that album."
But Larkin, who admittedly loves the album concept, said that the art form is in trouble.
"Our manager Paul Geary gave us all iPods for Christmas one year, and he said, 'This is the future.’ He really thinks the CD will even be obsolete in five years, and that everyone is going to simply be downloading 'Godsmack VII' as a whole record."
GODSMACK is currently on the road with ROB ZOMBIE and SHINEDOWN for the mother of all rock shows this summer.
"It was one of those things managers put together," Larkin said, describing in the most unglamorous but honest way GODSMACK and ZOMBIE, another Massachusetts native, came together. "We needed something that would appeal to the promoters. We're good for a 6,000- to-8,000 seater, but we wanted a way to play places that added 3,000 to 4,000 seats."
At this point in its career, GODSMACK knows what its job is, but that doesn't make things necessarily easier.
"We all have families and children now. When I was packing my bag to leave for six weeks, I wasn't all excited. I was sad to leave my wife and kids," Larkin said. "And the older you get, touring is less of a party and more fatigue on the body."

Sepultura to Cease Using Name After Current Tour?
In a brand new interview with the Brazilian newspaper O Estado de São Paulo, former SEPULTURA drummer Igor "Iggor" Cavalera is quoted as saying that he and the current SEPULTURA members have come to an agreement that the name SEPULTURA can only be used until the end of band's current "Dante XXI" touring cycle. However, in the same article, the group's bassist, Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr., denies that any such agreement was ever made.
Speaking to BLABBERMOUTH.NET back on June 13, 2006, Igor was asked if, in his opinion, SEPULTURA should go on without either of the Cavalera brothers in the lineup. "I don't have the right to say whether it should exist, or if it should go on, since I left the band," he said. "I think if it was like, if they threw me out of the band, or if it was like a fight, or if it was a different situation, I could have a different opinion, as far as continuing or not continuing. But as far as the way I see it [now], I think it's really up to them if they want to continue or if they wanna stop with SEPULTURA." Asked if he would try to stop the remaining SEPULTURA members if they tried to continue and record a new album under the SEPULTURA name with a different drummer, Igor said, "No, not at all."
SEPULTURA played their first official show in their home country with the group's new drummer, Jean Dolabella (ex-UDORA), on August 5 at the Circo Voador in Rio de Janeiro.
Igor announced earlier in the year that he was taking a break from the group's touring activities to spend time with his second wife and their new son (who was born in January). Filling in on drums during the band's European tour with IN FLAMES was Roy Mayorga, who played with Igor's brother Max in SOULFLY for several years in the late '90s and again in 2001-2003.
Igor is the second Cavalera to leave SEPULTURA. In 1996, Max Cavalera exited the group after the rest of the band fired Max's wife Gloria as SEPULTURA's manager.
Satyricon Announce Dates w/ Full Brass Section
Norwegian black metallers SATYRICON have posted the following message on their official web site:
"The booking of the Scandinavian tour in November is coming to an end and will be announced shortly. For now there are three shows already on sale: Oslo, Trondheim and Bergen, Norway. We are looking at approximately 10 shows in Norway, 6 in Sweden and 2 in Denmark. "
"As a part of this tour we will realise our ambition to make the appearance of the brass section on the 'Now, Diabolical' album become reality, live in concert. We have already done this in a scaled down version as a part of the P3 sessions show that was a concert broadcast on radio shortly before the release of the album. "
"This time around we have been lucky enough to join forces with the whole cavalry and we have some of the best men from The Norwegian Broadcasting Orchestra and Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra joining us on stage at Sentrum Scene in Oslo, November 4th. Please note that we are talking about big-ass horns in various shapes and forms. There will be no harps, or violins for that matter! "
"Together with Øivind Westby that helped arrange brass for three of the songs on 'Now, Diabolical', we are arranging brass for old and new SATYRICON songs trying to give the songs a dimension and feel they normally don't have. We have moved the show to Sentrum Scene to ensure it is an all-ages show. We hope this will be a spectacular night for us the performing musicians, and the fans. The show will also be recorded and filmed."
"Tour Diabolical" will hit the following cities:
Fri 15th Sep – Birmingham Academy
Sat 16th Sep – London Islington Academy
Sun 17th Sep – Manchester Academy 2
Mon 18th Sep – Newcastle Academy
Tue 19th Sep – Glasgow Cathouse
Wed 20th Sep – Nottingham Rock City
Myspace To Sell Artists' Songs Online
According to Yahoo News, Myspace have announced that they will be moving into the digital music business by selling songs from the nearly 3 million registered unsigned bands. Myspace is the latest company to take on Apple's iTunes, but unlike other rivals, it already boasts 106 million users.
MySpace co-founder Chris DeWolfe said before the end of 2006 they will offer independent bands that have not signed with a record label a chance to sell their music on the site. MySpace says it has nearly 3 million bands showcasing their music.
Songs can be sold on the bands' MySpace pages and on fan pages, in non-copyright-protected MP3 digital file format, which works on most digital players including Apple's market-dominating iPod.
The bands will decide how much to charge per song after including MySpace's distribution fee, said Rusty Rueff, the chief executive of Snocap, which will manage the e-commerce service.

Mayhem's Attila Comments On Recent Events
Regarding the last events that happened with MAYHEM's recent shows, singer Attila Csihar decided to react. Here is his whole speech:
A Fascist-Religious Government in Europe hides behind its Democratic Facade
Some time ago, MAYHEM was set to play in POLAND. And we were very excited to deliver a great show to our Polish fans! The Polish government didn't warn us of any requirements, rules or guidelines in advance. So, thinking that all the details were taken care of, we set out with all our equipment and our entire stage set. One day before the show however we were informed that the Polish government had banned us from playing the country! And without any official statement or explanation!
When we looked into the situation, we saw that many Polish newspapers claimed that this action was merely based in politics as it was close to the next Polish elections. It seems that politics and religion are very strongly interlocked in the country. Could this be a new form of religious dictatorship and inquisition?
Needless to say, this caused a huge existential and financial loss for the band and our promoters. Not to mention a huge theft to the hundreds of fans who had bought tickets in advance.
How much longer do we have to suffer from these false, distorted, sick, politically religious regimes and dictatorships? How can a simple metal band be deemed a serious danger for the government and its citizens? It shows the weakness in Poland "democracy".
I grew up in an ex-communist country just like Poland. And I remember how the official history had "changed" from one day to the next. I remember the chaos and confusion this caused in the school system and realized this during my final high school exams in 1988.
This world is totally fucked up and hypnotised! And we are all suffering from a lifetime of lies! I know that my Polish friends can understand and relate to what I am saying. I recently heard from the Hungarian metal band Sear Bliss that their show in Poland was raided by armed police-commandos in ski-masks only moments before show time!
Someone must take a stand. Our only weapons are musical instruments yet they reply to us with machine guns! I am not afraid of priests and politics! How far will this go? Where has the freedom of speech, art and religion gone? Maybe it is in the ass of their pope? I would like to tell the Minister of Poland and his government to kiss all of our asses and fuck off!
