Rosetta Complete New Album, Announce Dates
Philadelphia’s acclaimed noise manipulators/Translation Loss Recording artist, Rosetta, have completed their highly anticipated follow up to their 2005 release The Galilean Satellites entitled Wake/Lift! Matt Weed from the band explains: “Wake/Lift is the first that we haven't engineered completely by ourselves, and also our first to analog tape. Colin Marston of Dysrhythmia took care of the drums for us, and we're tracking everything else in our own (Jane Doll) studio. The production has jumped up a few notches since our earlier records --- just due to outside insight, some new gear, and a ton more experience on our part. In the end, it won't sound 'slick' because we're not into that, but we are shooting for as much clarity as possible. We want it to have a wide-open quality, but still be dynamic enough to smack people in the face.”
When confronted with the direction of the new Rosetta material, Matt Weed had this to say: “Musically, it picks up where we left off. Paradoxically, it's both more technical and more experimental. We have moved in a more melodic direction, with more contrast between the heavy and the soft material. I would almost say it's not a "metal" record anymore. It's post-post-rock tuned down to hell with lots of screaming. Imagine Mogwai fighting Pink Floyd at a Coalesce show... on a space station.”
Wake/Lift will see a fall release and be garnished by artwork from the highly praised Philadelphia artist Paul Romano (Mastodon, The Red Chord, A Life Once Lost, etc.) Rosetta’s Wake/Lift will be released on CD and Limited Edition 2xLP. Until then, catch them on tour with starting today; the shows include a tour with Battlefields plus shows with labelmates TFD, Irepress and tons of other bands along the way.

Bloodhorse Signs To Translation Loss
Translation Loss Sign Bloodhorse Translation Loss Records has announced one of their newest signings, Boston, Massachusetts' Bloodhorse. Consisting of Alex Garcia-Rivera [drums], Matt Woods [bass + vocals], and Adam Wentworth [guitar + vocals], Bloodhorse formed at the tail-end of 2004 as an informal avenue of keeping busy during the down time of their respective bands. The following year would see the band become their main focus as previous obligations disbanded or disintegrated, and the core of their early material would be realized. Though a relatively new group, the members of Bloodhorse have spent the last decade touring and releasing records with an expansive collective resume that includes 454 Big Block, Shelter, The Red Chord, Saves The Day, American Nightmare and Premonitions Of War. However, Bloodhorse dispel any notion of prior band affiliation with the bastardized wall of sound delivered on their upcoming Translation Loss debut “EP” that pays homage to the likes of Deep Purple and The Who while fusing contemporary elements from bands like Entombed and Saint Vitus.
As the band explains: "We try to approach our influences in the same way that, say, Led Zeppelin approached Robert Johnson and Willie Dixon. They were certainly beholden to their influences, yet in a way that wasn't a carbon copy. Collectively, we find the ethics and approach that these bands had to the creative process just as influential, if not more so, than the actual product itself."
Bloodhorse's Translation Loss Records debut release, “EP,” was recorded solely by the band, mastered at M-Works in Massachusetts and will see a mid summer 2007 release. Clocking in at about 37 minutes, “EP” will floor the rock and metal community with its sheer abrasive nature and nods to the old guard. The disc comes out July 24th, as the band continues to schedule shows:
7/11 - The Milky Way - Jamaica Plain, MA
8/02 - Milk Creek Tavern - Philadelphia, PA
8/08 - Great Scott - Boston, MA
Firebox Announce Several Upcoming Releases
Finland's Firebox Records has announced release dates for upcoming albums: Fall of the Leafe's "Aerolithe," Terhen's "Eyes Unfolded," and Depressed Mode's "Ghosts of Devotion."
Fall of the Leafe plays guitar driven, progressive atmospheric rock with a metallic edge. The band reserves the right to blend in any styles and influences without prior notice. Aerolithe is the 6th album from this well known Finnish band, who craft very personal, infectious harmonies in a very Scandinavian metal style. Vocalist Tuomas Tuominen has been voted as one of the top 3 metal vocalist in Finland, and Aerolithe shows the band taking a heavier and more straightforward approach than their previous albums. It was mastered by Svante Forsback at Charmakers, one of the top studios in Finland. Fall of the Leafe's "Aerolithe" will be released August 20th.
Following the more death/doom path, Tehren continue the brilliant quality of Finnish doom death as also displayed by acts like Skepticism, Shape of Despair, Swallow the Sun and many more. Featuring two female vocalists the overall vocal approach is still of the low-end male growl, and the band incorporate multiple other styles into their gloomy doom metal, produced by Risto Ylonen, and mastered by Svante Forsback on Charmakers. Terhen's "Eyes Unfolded" will be released August 20th.
Depressed Mode provide a very unique style of doom/death, difficult to compare to any other band, on their debut album Ghosts of Devotion. Featuring Natalie Koskinen (Shape of Despair) on vocals and including a doomy cover of Burzum's "Dunkelheit," in addition to the professionally crafted doom atmospheres should have quite a few doom and death fans enthralled. Depressed Mode's "Ghosts of Devotion" will be released September 17th.

Of Hearts and Shadows Ready Debut Full-Length
San Diego, California screamo band Of Hearts and Shadows, featuring singer Scott Bixby, guitarists Ricky Vazquez and Ian Archer, bassist Isaiah Herevia, and drummer Matt Williams, is readying the release of their first-ever full-length, "Touching Base with a Chainsaw," which is one of the first releases for the newly-launched Tyburn label. "We had two years worth of writing for this album," explains Williams about the sessions. "We were able to knock it out in three weeks - we didn't have to sit and write a bunch of stuff."
The group was formed by Vazquez and original bassist Allan Levy back in 2003, and subsequently went through quite a few different members, before finding the group's current line-up. While the group's sound contains obvious elements of metal, hardcore, and emo, Williams explains that the quintet refuses to be aligned with a single style or approach, as their influences run the gamut - "It goes from classic rock to everything you hear up to today."
The group recently wrapped up a string of U.S. dates playing alongside the Distance and Karate High School, which went smashingly well. "We take pride in throwing guitars and making it pretty insane on stage," adds Archer. "We like to let the music speak for itself, but kids will say, 'That was an amazing show,' and then they'll listen to the album."
With a scheduled release date of October 24th, "Touching Base with a Chainsaw" contains countless hard hitting highlights, including the prog metal-esque "Make Sure You Tell Your Friends," as well as "Pretty for Nostalgia," which shows that Bixby is one of the more intense screamers in all of hard rock today. "This band is about the future," explains Vazquez. "Five young guys who appreciate the music that came before, play the music of today, but are going to keep creating and stepping outside the box into the future. Music is the last free thing left to do. There are no limits, and that is going to allows us to grow with every album we put out."
You can check out some of the band's material on their MySpace page.
Dirty Little Rabbits To Support Stone Sour
DIRTY LITTLE RABBITS, the new band featuring SLIPKNOT percussionist M. Shawn Crahan, has posted several tracks on its MySpace page.
In other news, DIRTY LITTLE RABBITS has landed one of the support slots on the upcoming STONE SOUR U.S. tour in August/September. Also scheduled to appear is SYDONIA.
For a list of upcoming DIRTY LITTLE RABBITS dates, click here.
DIRTY LITTLE RABBITS is:
M. Shawn Crahan - Drumset
Michael Pfaff - Hammond M-3 & Juno-6
Ty Fyhrie - Guitar
Jeff Karnowski - Bass Guitar
Stella Katsoudas - Vocals
In a recent interview with Midwest Excess, M. Shawn Crahan stated about DIRTY LITTLE RABBITS, "This band is a supergroup, but it's all fighters. We're all kind of like reclusive, a little bit, in our own way. We all love music, so we've socially kind of gotten together where we're socially not happening. We're kind of like having a lot of fun together. . . This band is a band of the people, and we will have as much fun and do what we are doing right now, and pay to play, as long as it takes to actually feel, and earn the right, to have that right of passage. . . I've got some really high hopes for some really big tours. We're bidding tours right now. Rock tours this summer. I'd like to get on a tour this summer. I'd like to go to Europe this summer for a festival or two. Big wish lists. I would say early fall, late summer, might hit a record. I'd say we get it out before SLIPKNOT hits the studio, and then probably tour as long as we could. . . This band is really big to me. It's very serious. It's taken my whole life to get to this. I've waited a very long time to get this love out of my heart, and this pain out of my soul. So, we plan on a full-length. We plan on the whole thing. Anything you can imagine, I am envisioning for this. It just takes time, and we're not going to push it this time. I'm not going to go in like a baby band and get everything taken from me. I don't necessarily need anything. We've got all we want. We've got a car. We've got a trailer and we've got each other. We've got good friends that let us stay on the floor and feed us, and it's good. We've got those all around the world, and if we don't have them yet, we'll get them soon enough."

Wolf Part Ways With Bassist
Swedish metallers WOLF have announced the departure of bassist Mikael Goding. His final appearance with the band will take place at the Headbangers Open Air festival, set to take place July 12-14 in Brande-Hörnerkirchen, Germany.
Commented Mikael: "To put it simple: too much business and mini-van, and [too little] music. The reason we started the band was that we wanted to create great new wave of British heavy metal. And we certainly have! The thing that I always have enjoyed most with WOLF is to see a song grow during rehearsals. Thinking: man! This is a really good song, and we have done it together. Now with Tobias [Kellgren; drums] and Johannes [Losbäck; guitar] living on the west coast, we hardly rehearse at all and that sucks! Unfortunately, releasing an album isn't just about music, there is a lot of business involved, and I hate that shit! Playing a gig is a lot more than the gig, and I hate that shit to! Last gig (Bang Your Head!!!) we played 40 minutes and we were away for 50 hours, and we didn't get any money at all. The worst part with leaving WOLF is how much I'll miss the fans. Even if there aren't legions of them, there is still some who are really dedicated. Like Joxe, who comes to almost every show we play in Europe. So thank you all who have bought the record and all who have been at gigs for the past '12 wasted years.'"
WOLF's performance at the Sweden Rock Festival in Sölvesborg, Sweden on June 6, 2007 was recorded by the Swedish national radio show "P3 Rock" and will be broadcast later in the year.
WOLF's latest album, "The Black Flame", was recorded at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden. The follow-up to 2004's "Evil Star" is the first album to feature new drummer Tobias R Kellgren and longtime session/live guitarist Johannes Losbäck alongside founding members Niklas Stålvind (vocals, lead guitar) and Mikael Goding. A video for the song "I Will Kill Again" has been posted onliine at YouTube.com.
Korn Session Guitarist Arrested
ORN backing/session guitarist Clint Lowery was arrested at the Hodokvas festival in Piestany, Slovakia on Thursday (July 5), according to a posting on the festival web site.
Clint was released from police custody at 12:30 p.m. local time (11:30 GMT) on Thursday after he was temporarily detained following a "wild drunken night" at the festival that resulted in the guitarist trashing his room, according to officials.
"The musician admitted his fault, apologized for his act and immediately paid for the damage he caused," according to a report on the Hodokvas web site.
Lowery, previously a member of SEVENDUST, is currently touring with KORN in Europe as the band's backing/session guitarist — a position he has held around four months after replacing ex-OTEP member Rob Patterson.
Lowery is the second replacement for original KORN guitarist Brian "Head" Welch, who left the band two years ago to devote his life to Christianity.
Lowery made his debut with KORN on March 1, 2007 when the band made its first appearance ever on NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno".
Lowery's band DARK NEW DAY released its debut album, "Twelve Year Silence", in June of 2005. The disc featured the single "Brother".
Destructor And Raven Added To Metal On Metal Fest
The Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland, Ohio will host a "Metal On Metal 25th Anniversary Concert" on Saturday, September 15. Featured bands include RAVEN (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal legends), ANVIL (Canadian metal veterans and Cleveland favorites who released the classic "Metal On Metal" album in 1982), PILEDRIVER (the "Metal Inquisition" rides again... Canada's '80s underground thrashers' first-ever Cleveland appearance!) and DESTRUCTOR (Cleveland's thrash metal legends... "Forever In Leather" CD-release show!). All four bands will be doing full headlining sets. Each is working on, or soon will be releasing, a new studio album.
The concert will celebrate the 25th anniversary (1982-2007) of Bill Peters' "Metal On Metal" radio program, heard every Friday night in Cleveland on WJCU 88.7 FM and streamed live worldwide at www.wjcu.org. The very popular underground radio program has featured import and independent heavy metal for parts of the past three decades. 2007 also marks the 25th anniversary of ANVIL's now-classic "Metal On Metal" album, which was released on Attic Records in 1982 and the theme song of the radio program.

Samael vocalist comments on new album, new video
Mark Carras of RockMyMonkey.com recently conducted an interview with Samael vocalist Vorph. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow:
Mark: What do you feel Waldemar brought to "Solar Soul" as a producer that would not have been there otherwise?
"Mainly I think it's very important for us to have somebody from the outside that just have a look into what we've done and make some comment that might help the song becoming better. We did work with Waldemar for every album, except the first one ("Worship Him") that we did by ourselves. But I think once we finish the songs we just have to think, this is done, it cannot really develop further than what it is. And that is where Waldemar came into the picture. He kind of have an influence on the structure of the song mainly. And just giving ideas. Often this is thing that we should see by ourselves, but we're too much into it, and we don't know how to distance to notify what could be done differently. Lots of little details, but that makes a difference for the song.
On the album before, "Reign Of Light" we actually worked with Sami (Kreator) already. Because Waldemar Sorychta asked him. We knew he could play the sitar, and when we knew we had a song with the sitar, which is "Quasar Waves" on this album, we immediately thought about him. We called him back and see if he was interested, and he was. So that was pretty much easy for this one. Vibeke (Tristania) [was] something different. That was Waldemar's idea as well. He was kind of hearing a female vocal on that chorus, which is the song "Suspended Time". We weren't sure about it, but he proposed that we try it out. He had two different propositions. A girl he was working with on a different project, and Vibeke. "
On a North American tour, "I don't know. We are looking for it at the moment, but first we will probably tour in Europe, and that's going to be a lot of travel. November. So I don't think it's going to be before the end of this year. Probably early next year is what we're looking for at the moment.'
Samael went to Germany last week to shoot a video clip for the song "Slavocracy". In the meantime, a download single will be available from Friday 11th at the Nuclear Blast's Shop. It will contain three songs : "Valkyries' New Ride", "Slavocracy" and an instrumental version of that last song.
Himsa Post Album Update
Himsa have posted the following update reguarding their new album entitled, "Summon In Thunder", which will be released September 18th on Century Media records, the band's new label. "Summon In Thunder" has the music produced by Steve Carter, the vocals being produced by Devin Townsend (Darkest Hour, Lamb of God), and the mixing and mastering being done by Tue Madsen (The Haunted).
Derek Harn (bass) states: “”Summon In Thunder” was paid for in blood, sweat and fury. Over 5 weeks straight of 20-hour days, and metal masters from three countries worked tirelessly under tight deadlines to create this monster. It was pure — but ultimately rewarding — anguish. In the end, it all paid off, and the intensity of the recording process carries through the album like a horde of stampeding wildebeests.
During our endless hours in the studio, we had a great idea for a video that we couldn’t pass up and decided to make this our first enhanced CD. The video is for our shortest, thrashiest song, “Unleash Carnage”, and is truly one of the grossest, most ridiculous displays in all of metaldom. Also on the CD, we included video footage on the making of the album, sort of a diary of how the process was working out at the time. To top it off, we put lots of pretty pictures of us in a photo gallery, so all the girls can make posters of us and hang them on their bedroom walls.
Speaking of pretty pictures, the ever-masterful Paul Romano (Mastodon, The Red Chord) created all the art and design for this album’s packaging. He researched what ancient cultures believed created thunder in the heavens and worked closely with Pettibone’s lyrics to create the imagery of mythological creatures and the power of nature’s dark wrath. It’s amazing art.
We are incredibly proud of this album and feel it’s a pure representation of who we are as individuals and as a band. We are anxious to get back out on the road and see all our friends across the globe.”
Blaze Bayley Schedules UK Signings
Former IRON MAIDEN/WOLFSBANE frontman Blaze Bayley has scheduled a signing session at Musicmania in Milton Keynes, England on July 28-29.
For more information, visit www.musicmanialive.com.
Metal Mind Productions released Blaze Bayley's DVD last month. Entitled "Alive in Poland", the disc was recorded at the 21st edition of the Metalmania Festival, which took place on March 24 in Katowice, Poland. Blaze Bayley and his band put on a 90-minute show consisting of the best tracks from BLAZE's discography as well as select cuts from IRON MAIDEN ("Man on the Edge", "Futureal"). The DVD also includes many great bonus features, such as an interview with Blaze Bayley, an interview with all members of Blaze's band (featuring footage filmed during their visit to Poland) and more. A limited-edition "Alive in Poland" release includes a two-CD set with songs recorded at the concert.
Bayley's most recent release, "Blood & Belief" (which came out under the BLAZE banner), was issued in Europe in April 2004. The follow-up to 2002's "Tenth Dimension" was recorded at Backstage Studios in Derbyshire, England with producer Andy Sneap (NEVERMORE, EXODUS, ARCH ENEMY).
Entombed Singer Talks About New Album
Holland's Lords of Metal e-zine recently conducted an interview with ENTOMBED frontman L.G. Petrov. A few excerpts from the chat follow:
Lords of Metal: Last year you released the EP "When In Sodom" on 06-06-2006 and now a year later the new ENTOMBED album "Serpent Saints" is released. Why this gap of a year? Did something happen?
Petrov: Not really, back then we had written some songs, we had part of the album ready, but we also had a lot of shows back then. Having to do shows and writing music at the same is not a good combination, you know. In order to write songs, you really have to focus on it 100%, we like to be home to fully concentrate on it. But fortunately enough we did have a few songs ready to, because we promised a few people that we would release the album on 06-06-06. So in the end that became the EP, so that there was at least something that we could release. When we came back from touring we could concentrate again on doing some more songs, and that's what we did for a year.
Lords of Metal: Looking back on the career of ENTOMBED, I noticed that creativity or productivity seems to come in spells. You had a lot of full-length releases from 1990-1993 then a four-year gap and then constant releases again from 1997 to 2003 and then a four year gap again till now. Is there any explanation for this pattern?
Petrov: It will be eight years until the next album! (laughs out loud) No, as for the first gap, between "Wolverine Blues" and "To Ride, Shoot Straight and Speak The Truth" it was a business thing. Record deals not being settled and stuff like that. We just wanted to play music, we even had songs ready, but we had to wait for record companies, so that was pretty frustrating. As for the gap from "Inferno" up until now we have lost some members and it takes a while to get into the new mode, being a four piece. We are doing everything on our own now, we are independent, so we also had a few things to learn, but now we have also done some songs for a new album. So the next album will not be four years from now.
Lords of Metal: One funny fact I discovered: not one member of ENTOMBED has actually always been part of ENTOMBED. Even you. What kind of impact do you think this long list of line-up changes has had on the career of ENTOMBED?
Petrov: It is always sad when you lose a member of the band, but obviously you want to continue so you always try to make the best of it. A band always will encounter problems, one way or another, when Nicke Andersson left the band, he was a big part of ENTOMBED, but we did not think for a minute that we should go and do something else. Continuing was the only thing to do. All the bumps in the road only make you stronger, we are actually doing quite fine now as a four-piece.
Lords of Metal: The full title "Serpent Saints – The Ten Amendments" hints at it being some kind of concept album. Is that the case?
Petrov: No, not really. We try to write songs about what we think about everything. And we write about the evil spirits that are involved in everything, and on this album we do not say what one should do, we just say, "What do you want to do." We just wanted this to sound sick and awkward and that when you listen to it, you get a strange feeling, like "Who are those people…" There are a lot disgusting things going on, but that is probably because we are disgusting, haha.
Lords of Metal: The second part of the title, "The Ten Amendments", seems to be some reference to the biblical Ten Commandments. What is the link or the play on it?
Petrov: Yeah, it kind of is the reverse. The Commandments say "You shall not," but we say "If you want it, then you can do it!" We do not have ten amendments that you have to follow, it's a wide spectrum, if you want to call it that. If I had to formulate something, I would say that "You are what you are," or "The things that you do will eventually be in your favor." It is what you do what you counts. "You shall not talk until you walk," hehe, something like that! I live by that myself, I talk a lot, but I do things too!
Lords of Metal: I noticed that in a few songs there are some scream vocals. Did you do them as well? And how did you get the children's choir for "When In Sodom"?
Petrov: Yeah, I did the scream vocals myself. It was kind of new for me, but I always wanted to sing like that too, it is just that the last few albums did not allow me to do it. Live Nico (Elgstrand, bass) will do the doubled parts. As for the children's choir, that is us too actually. We just took a microphone and went (high-pitched voice) "When in Sodom", that is the only thing you need. When we recorded the album we wanted it to be fairly simple. Especially since we only have one guitarist now, we wanted to stay true to our selves and we wanted to be able to reproduce live
Lords of Metal: This new record is the first that you recorded with Olle Dahlstedt. How did it go? Why did he replace Peter Stjärnvind?
Petrov: It was easy to fit him in. There are a lot of drummers around, but we had a list with just his name on it! He is a happy guy and has the right mindset to be in ENTOMBED. He is a great guy and he did not sit quietly in a corner being the new member, he just gave his opinions right away. Peter had some personal problems, so he had to concentrate on that, obviously. It was the right thing to do.

Mustaine Wants To Be In The Studio Again Before 09
MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has posted the following message in the "Forums" section of the band's official web site:
"What a great day to get up and write to you all. I know that I have been very busy, and that there were a lot of times over the last few months that you may have seen me darting in or out of a building, and I was unable to stay and chit-chat. Well, I am relatively sorry for that, althought there are sometimes, and we all have them, when you are with someone you can talk to for hours and never want to leave . . . or then there's conversations for mere seconds, where the dead fish smell that permeates every conversation like that at the 'are you just about finished yet?' moment.
"It was great seeing all of the bands that we saw on the last tour, and I for one am ecstatic about the reviews that you have given us. The press has been really kind too (which makes me tremble), and I have to say that I have just experienced one of the best trips around the world so far with 'United Abominations' that I have had with damn near any previous record.
"Seeing people that I really respect too has made it fantastic! Stars on the stage and the stars behind them too were everywhere I turned. I didn't go one day without seeing someone that I loved, or liked and that I had worked with or toured with in the past.
"I got to see how many people around the world know and love James Lomenzo, which just continues to solidify his place in MEGADETH, and I also got to spend time with him myself when I was having the 'rough times' that we all go over whilst on tour.
"And the relentless comedy the Drover brothers provide is priceless (although the intellect of the jokes are worthless), and we laughed probably 50% of the trip around the world. I was semi-concerned because they are fans of so many of the bands that we have played with, some I influenced, some I even know, and there was one incident where they got snubbed by a band they were huge fans of, and I told them, 'that is why we never treat the fans like that.'
"Sadly, there is still that backstage poseur shit going on.
"I doubt the band they went to say hello to knew who they were, but still, it was bad form and I laughed because it only served to piss them off and they said before they went on stage, ' . . . gonna kill those guys . . . pricks . . . etc.' And we had fun!!!
"There were only a few shows with technical difficulties, and there were a few shows that we wished we played at different time slots, or lengths, or stages, but most importantly we got to see you, to show you that we are back and we are serious, and that we are coming to see you as soon as we can.
"We have dozens of offers for dates in the USA, Canada, the UK and Europe again, South America, Japan, Australia, and several new countries in the Pac Rim on our schedule. We are trying to go into China, South Korea, and some southern countries like Indonesia again.
"My hope is to one day go to South Africa, but for now, for this split second of divinity, I am happy just being in my teensy office at home.
"I would like to say thank you to the crew personnel that we have worked with so far this tour, there have been many great professionals and we wish you well. Some we have had to part ways with as paths cross and then un-cross again; and some were only temporary employees, too. I hope that we all will always remain friends for what we accomplished these last two years restocking my 'warchest.'
"Last but not least, I started writing some stuff whilst in Germany, as I am sure the others have too, so we are going to try to get back into the studio before 2009.
"We are still making a lot of great improvements around here at all-things-mega, and now that we are back home, a lot of the neat stuff we picked up along the way will be sent to the official MEGADETH eBay store, and I even think that Glen Drover is going to have one of his axes for auction soon.
"I hope everyone has a great day — this special day - seven - seven – seven."
Daylight Dies' New Release Nearing Completion
Dayllight Dies drummer Jesse Haff reports "We now are forging past the halfway mark of the new album and decided to demo a couple songs this past weekend for perspective. The new songs thus far consist of a mix of beautiful melancholic leads and harsh dissonant rhythms; despair driven hooks and the overall dark atmosphere you've come to expect. We have no song titles or further details to announce yet, but we will be able to reveal more details as progress continues."
Daylight Dies toured with Katatonia in 2006 in support of their Candlelight Records release "Dismantling Devotion".

Machine Head Continues The Black Crusade
Machine Head will be joined by Arch Enemy, Dragonforce, Trivium, and Shadows Fall for the Black Crusade tour throughout Europe this fall. Previously they had only signed on to a handful of Australian dates, but with such an amazing reception at this summer's festivals, decided to stick around.
[Correction: It has been brought to my attention that Machine Head are the headliners of this whole tour and together with Trivium, were instrumental in pulling the whole thing together, hence the title 'The Black Crusade,' drawing from the two bands' current album titles ('The Blackening' and 'The Crusade'). They didn't only sign on for the Aussie dates, as the whole idea of the tour was theirs to start with. Machine Head are headlining the tour, not Arch Enemy as the previous headline may have implied. -deathbringer]
