Machine Head Continues The Black Crusade Tour with Arch Enemy, Trivium and Others

Band Photo: Trivium (?)
Machine Head will be joined by Arch Enemy, Dragonforce, Trivium, and Shadows Fall for the Black Crusade tour throughout Europe this fall. Previously they had only signed on to a handful of Australian dates, but with such an amazing reception at this summer's festivals, decided to stick around.
[Correction: It has been brought to my attention that Machine Head are the headliners of this whole tour and together with Trivium, were instrumental in pulling the whole thing together, hence the title 'The Black Crusade,' drawing from the two bands' current album titles ('The Blackening' and 'The Crusade'). They didn't only sign on for the Aussie dates, as the whole idea of the tour was theirs to start with. Machine Head are headlining the tour, not Arch Enemy as the previous headline may have implied. -deathbringer]

I must agree with "New Found Power", drop Dragonforce and Trivium, actually someone should just kill those guys. Those guy's popularity escapes me, how can anyone like those flamers? DRAGONFORCE IS NOT METAL!!!!! Replace them with Unearth and Devildriver, they're f***in sick.

10. writes:
f*** Emo, how is Dragonforce NOT metal. . .yet Shadows Fall is? Last time I checked Dragonforce is Power METAL with some stylings of other metal genres.
Dragonforce is more than guitarists. All their members are talented.
As for replacing them with Devil Driver; DD can get a new vocalist first.

12. writes:
f*** Emo knows real metal. Sure dragonforce has a good guitarist but so does Unearth, and their whole band is awesome not just one person. Trivium is ...ok, but i definetly wouldnt start b****ing if someone badmouthed them. And like he said, DevilDriver is f***in sick, craziest drummer in the goddamned world, and the rest of the band is pretty good too. So f*** off

13. writes:
Real METAL? Every band you mentioned is f***ing -core (Given, Unearth is crazy melodic for a metalcore band, and they're moving away from -core). Arch Enemy is the most metal band on that tour along with Machine head (who, don't compare to Vio-lence). The last band that doesn't have a hint of -core in them is Dragonforce. And if you'd listen to them and their individual instruments, and not just listen to Inhuman Rampage, you'd prob see that.
I'll even give that Devil Driver is a really talented band. But their singer is a prime example of what is wrong with metal.

14. writes:
Don't know if I'm going to get flamed for this but Unearth has moved from Metalcore to nu Metal( I dont even like calling nu bands metal) I think in my opnion God Forbid is just like Unearth but has showed more talent. I saw Unearth at a Slayer concert, very gay and emo kids took up the space for Slayer because as soon as Unearth left all the emo fags left. Probably cause Slayer mosh is too much for them f***ing fags. Dragonforce is POWER METAL for you tools out there. I do agree with Herman Li's popularity is ridiculous. Yea he so he's fast? it's like nu kids have never seen a good guitar player. Dragonforce is diffently moving into the mainstream nu ppl ( no pop music fans but icp, disturbed, slipknot fanatics) Machine head is 100% metalcore, but there lastest and amazing album The Blackening moved them to just plain metal with metalcore. And for Trivium the did sell themselves, but as long as they don't play The Crusade, everything should be ok. That's my input \,,/

16. writes:
UNEARTH IS NOT NU METAL, WHO'S CRACK ARE YOU SMOKING, THEY'RE THE BEST METALCORE ACT OUT THERE, AND I SAW UNEARTH EARLIER THIS YEAR WITH SLAYER TOO AND I DIDN'T SEE ANY EMO KIDS THERE, UNEARTH SURE AS HELL ARN'T EMO EITHER, NOBODY BETTER f***IN SAY THAT THEY'RE SCREAMO OR SOME sh** . AND ANY BAND THAT TRYS TO FUSE VIDEO GAME MUSIC INTO METAL, (I'm talking about dragonforce of course) CAN f*** THEMSELVES, TRIVIUM CHOKES IT AS WELL.
17. writes:
I don't get why people would hate Dragonforce just because they're popular. Fact, they're one of the most exciting bands to emerge from the power metal genre in a long time. I don't see anyone tearing into Manowar, Dragonland, Bal-Sagoth etc - Why? My guess is because most of the people decrying DF are idiot kids who know sh** all about metal.
"DRAGONFORCE IS NOT METAL!!!!!" ---- f***ing poser.
Now Playing: Cryptopsy - "Phobophile"
Old videogames have great neoclassical composition, people like f*** EMO probably don't have much musical appreciation for the greats, Bach, Handel etc and their effect on metal. Case in point, take a Necrophagist tab, slow it down and change the guitars to synthesisers and you have a soundtrack to any early videogame.

18. writes:
dude calm down, I didn't say they were nu metal, well maybe I worded it wrong, I ment from the looks of the concert I saw them at it seems there heading that direction. I like Unearth myself. But from where I live there the new Slipknot, and I hate that, So I kinda abandoned them. And I said it was gay because what they were wearing. You might like it by balarina ( mind the spelling) and white shoes as a outfit was f***ing gay looking. It really downgraded the feel of there show, especailly the emo kids.

19. writes:
f*** emo, turn your caps lock button off. It's how we can tell you're a flaming retard who doesn't like Dragonforce because they don't play breakdowns.
And if you seriously want to say any bands that try to mix video game music and metal can f*** themselves, go listen to powerglove. Their version of tetris will kick your ass.

20. writes:
Well, you're laying your ignorance right on the line bashing Dragonforce for only being "one person". The whole core of Dragonforce (especially on their latest album) is the guitar dueling between Herman Li and Sam Totman. Not to mention their drummer is excellent, as well as the rest of the band. Also, I'm not very familiar with them, but from what I hear on their myspace page Unearth's guitar players are decent, but nowhere near the caliber of Dragonforce's. They are vastly different styles of music, and maybe you just don't like power metal, but Dragonforce is far superior to Unearth on all levels of musicianship.

21. writes:
Dudes I like power metal, Hammerfall, Dio, Primal Fear, Iced Earth, Helloween, Malmsteen. I'm a power metal fan, I just don't like Dragonforce, they're way to melodic and poppy for my taste and thier music really isn't heavy. Overrated in my opinion. I never Knew there were emo kids who like Unearth, those guys don't have any emo singing in thier songs, that is why I like Unearth, In my town none of the emo kids have even heard of Unearth. They are also one of the only core bands that I like, them and Shadows Fall, I f***in love those guys.

25. writes:
I don't think Dragonforce is overrated at all, I just think their music is hard for some people to appreciate. It is the solo-work and all the licks and hooks that really make Dragonforce shine, and if you aren't into instrumentalist stuff then you will miss the point I suppose. I think a lot of people would have a hard time understanding just how difficult and amazing their stuff is.

26. writes:
i dont like dragonforce because of their sound. there vocalist annoys me, their guitar tone annoys me and their repetitive lyrics about something "so far away" gets old from song to song. i also think their melodies are really cheesey. and all totman and li do is shred. its amazing at first, but after a while it can get pretty boring. i have full respect for the talent of everyone in that band, i just dont like their music.

27. writes:
There's plenty more to their guitar work than just shredding, but hey, there's nothing wrong with not liking a band. I appreciate the fact you simply say you don't like them, and explain why, rather than just saying they suck or they're gay or something like a lot of the people who post here.

32. writes:
i think this is a great lineup for a tour. if only they were coming to America. oh, and f*** emo, DragonForce only has vidoe game music in, like, 3 of their songs.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________
everyone knows that DragonForce is the second best thing to come out of Brit-land, second to only Americans

33. writes:
All of f***in Dragonforces songs sound like corny cheesy video game music. I bought thier new album last year when it first came out and I f***in hated it. Every song sounds the exact same, way too melodic, way too long, way too poppy. Not enough aggression to call them metal. Extreme power metal is not proper term to define thier sound. They are not the second best thing to come out of brittain, far from it. Maiden, Priest and Sabbath kill these douchebags easily, and they're just the beginning........

36. writes:
34, I agree with you. The Blackening wasn't anything to win me over as a fan, but I will admit Machine Head has it's talent.
Edhead, have you listened to anything other than Inhuman Rampage? Sonic Firestorm and Valley of the Damned are excellent discs.
If any of these bands is overrated, it's Shadows Fall. Their lead is a pompous a$$ who thinks he's a guitar god. And their singers vocals, just wow.
Though, I'd agree that Death would be excellent on this tour, RIP.

37. writes:
Ya well i'm a big Shadows fan so of course I'm gonna stick up for them, Brian is a kick a$$ vocalist, insane guitarists Matt and Jon are, not gods I'll admit that but still the most talented metalcore act around. Threads Of Life was a bit of a disapointment though. Didn't like the new Machine Head either but they're also pretty damn good musicians, thats the only thing I'll credit them for.---Chuck Shuldiner RIP----the metal world could use that guy right about now, tis a shame

39. writes:
Edhead, just cause you're not aggressive does not mean you're not metal. it's the message that makes you metal, not the music.

A7X kick ass?, f*** you a$$hole, and ur making fun of Machine Head fans and ur obviuosly some fa**ot little emo sh** head. A7X do not kick ass, they're a complete disscrace to metal and should be thrown down and kicked in the face repeatidly after playing Pantera's "Walk" as part of thier Ozzfest setlist. How dare they take a sick a$$ awsome metal song and sing it all emo and gay. Dimebag would be ashamed of those douchebags.

44. writes:
Actually, I think Dimebag would be ashamed of you for putting down someone based on their musical tastes.
Wasn't it Pantera, that at a time, wore as much make up as the rest of the 80's hair metal bands, and had FOUR albums in that genre? And didn't Dimebag go by. . .Diamond. . .back then?
f***, the lack of respect metal listeners have today.

48. writes:
Ya and when I had to whitness A7X at Ozzfest last year they actually quoted themselves as being the future of metal and that they were bringing back real metal. That's mainly why I hate those dudes so much, it's not just thier sh**ty music, it's thier arragance about too. A7X EATS d***!!!!!!

50. writes:
Just note, Phil's an a$$hole who destroyed Pantera. A7X paid whatever the costs were to play the song, Phil can't sue. American attitudes for you. (Here comes the "If you don't like it get out" comments).
Take away their singer's vocals and their make up and hype, what don't you like about A7X's music?

53. writes:
Hey, what the f*** happened to commenting about Machinehead's tour? Who gives a f*** about A7X? If they redid a pantera song and it sucked, then they can burn in a pile of their own feces. Never heard the band, but arrogance of that level ("as told by Edhead") is really just douching it up bigtime. get back to the f***in topic

58. writes:

60. writes:
Thank you FocusShift. Ya, i was talking about A7X, not you Edhead. I apologize if i worded it badly. And f*** you. I will not "go eat a d***." read a little better next time, I don't want to start an a$$hole contest or anything cuz it seems like you and me have a lot of the same ideas on Metal.

Pretty good tour only needs a couple of changes. Drop Dragonforce and Trivium then you would have an even better tour
