In This Moment Video To Debut On HBB
The “Headbanger’s Ball” debut of IN THIS MOMENT’s striking new video for “Beautiful Tragedy” is set for this Saturday, July 14. Directed by Robert Hall, whose special effects company, Almost Human Inc, is responsible for special makeup design in the upcoming feature film “Superbad,” the video features lead singer Maria Brink falling asleep in a bathtub and slipping into a surreal nightmare where a dark, evil figure looms amidst the burnt landscapes. The video is up on the band’s MySpace page here.
Commented guitarist Chris Howorth: “We spent a little more time on this new video. It’s got more of a storyline with the live-action element. The shoot took place in the mountains near Santa Clarita, California, where there was a recent forest fire. It was a really different vibe.”
Currently touring as part of the much-talked about free Ozzfest 2007 with metal’s most celebrated and colorful acts, IN THIS MOMENT will play to an audience press were curious to figure out themselves. “We didn’t know what to think,” Howorth said. “It’s packed. They were so loud! If today is an indication of how the rest of the tour is going to be, it is going to be one of the best tours to date.”
Keeping busy on the tour front, IN THIS MOMENT will play with Megadeth and The Confession on a nationwide trek soon after Ozzfest. “Being direct support for Megadeth is a dream,” Howorth says. “It’s up there with Ozzfest. They’re one of my favorite bands of all time. We’re really excited to be playing. A lot of Megadeth fans will discover us for the first time.”

Mustaine Issues Update
MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has issued the following update:
"I had a trip up to L.A. yesterday and had meetings for hours and there is some real kewl stuff coming up for all-things-mega.
"I saw all of the Pan-Pacific dates, and it potentially includes Indonesia, Singapore, South Korea, and China added in to the usual favorites of ours, Japan and Australia. There appears to be an especially great run coming up in Oz, which we will update you officially on, as soon as we can. We also discussed the U.S. mini-tour the September, and it looks like I am spending my birthday on the road again. Oh well, this way I can make a mess and not worry about the morning after. [We are excited how many fan club members are getting their tickets early] We also made contact with Michael Sarna (Gigantour 2005 and 2006 filmmaker) about finishing last year's Gigantour DVD, as well as special releases and broadcasts that Image wants to do with these films and the DVD 'That One Night', our live recording from Argentina.
"Actually looking forward to seeing the guy."

Raven Studio Update Posted
Legendary British/American heavy metal trio RAVEN has returned to Assembly Line Studios with engineer/mixer Kevin 131 (PROJECT: FAILING FLESH, DECEASED, DYSRYTHMIA, GARDEN OF SHADOWS) to resume recording its new album, tentatively titled "Walk through Fire".
Commented Kevin 131: "We have been working round the clock and everyone is fried. Thank goodness I started drinking coffee last year, overpriced Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts have been saving us all.
"The guys all decided to keep the previous four songs that were tracked here the way they are. I imagine we may revisit the mix a bit, but something nice was captured. To be honest, I am not sure what the hell we all did — so it was more of the same this time — set up and go! Don't overthink it... that's how RAVEN is best, no click track, no over doing it — capture their energy and don't look to make it happen later. If it don't happen on the way down, it ain't there. Of course, I don't really have to do anything- they have it all worked out.
"Seeing John [Gallagher, RAVEN bassist/vocalist] play that 12-string bass with his fingers is insane... then he bends the notes to boot. And Mark's [Gallagher, guitar] memory is crazy. We'll figure our way through a take, then next time, he pretty much has it.
"From what they tell me, some of these songs are brand new, so they are still sorting parts as we go. No micro-managing parts — the rawness and edge and punch are all there in the tones.
"Once again going for the 'All for One' vibe, but with the teeth of 'Life's a Bitch'. The songs are great and the guys are funny. I wish people could hear the outtakes of solos bass runs, and general stupidity. These guys have their chops, but also good senses of humor. Mark has his strings so high up with (bad) action I am not sure how he plays them... but it makes the tones killer, even if he has to brutalize the guitar — and all hail the 9 thousand dollar Veleno guitar... back to back on tracks with about three 150 dollar basses and guitars, it's all about the tone...
"I like this record, hopefully the people who have loved RAVEN all along will see it's good old RAVEN here! Dammit, everyone says it, but as a fan, this record is cool."
RAVEN's last studio album, "One for All", was released in 1999 via Massacre Records.
RAVEN has been confirmed for The Monsters Ball, set to take place Friday, October 12 at The Rock Room of the Sterling hotel in Allentown, Pennsylvania and Saturday, October 13 at Dingbatz in Clifton, New Jersey. Also scheduled to appear are HALLOWS EVE, SEVENTH CALLING and fellow British metallers OVERDRIVE (performing their first U.S. shows ever). RAVEN will also perform at the Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland, Ohio on September 15 as part of the "Metal On Metal 25th Anniversary Concert", also featuring ANVIL, PILEDRIVER and DESTRUCTOR.
RAVEN is one of the confirmed bands for the Hard Rock Hell festival, set to take place from November 9-11 at Butlins in Minehead, UK (Somerset).
Metalrulez Productions Announces Two Fall Releases
Metalrulez Productions has announed two new releases due this fall. Their announcement follows:
"We are proud to annouce that in Autumn we will release Stahlmantel - "Satan Snuff Machine".
Stahlmantel is a project created by Bartsch (also in Bethlehem). His newest creation is a combination of dark electronic sounds with aggresive black metal vocals of Nihilist (also in Abazagorath, In Memorium, Lord Gore etc) and twisted riffs by Olaf Eckhardt (also in Bethlehem). No fucking remorse! Really sick, twisted, suicidal music!
"In Autumn we will also release a newest Inseminator album. No suprises here, only pure oldschool thrash/black/death metal. Prepare yourself for total destruction!"
Revenge Signs To Osmose Productions
Canadian Extremist metal band Revenge has signed to Osmose productions for the release of their third full length album. The album will be recorded in early Fall of 2007 with an expected release date yet to be announced.
The Amenta Recording New Album Entitled "n0n"
THE AMENTA are in the studio, recording “n0n”, the full length follow up to their acclaimed 2004 release “Occasus”. All guitars, samples and FX have been tracked and the band flies to Hobart, Australia to commence recording drums at Red Planet Studios in early July.
“n0n” is a much darker and more subtle album than its predecessor and is the product of a more experimental recording ethos. THE AMENTA are stepping outside of their comfort zone and enjoying chaos. Riddled with electronic noise and guitar manipulation, “n0n” pushes modern technology to its limits. Lyrically the album deals with shadowy deals and moral compromises of this sick new world.
Song titles include: Skin, Whore, Vermin, Spine, Rape, Slave, Entropy, Atrophy, Dystrophy, Cancer, Junky and Dirt.
Just a month ago the band was searching for a new vocalist, but there is no word in their update about a replacement being found.
Leng Tch'e Announces New Drummer
Leng Tch'e has officially announced a replacement for recently departed drummer, Svencho. Now joining the band is Tony Van den Eynde, of Belgian death metal band The Seventh. Here's a statement from the band:
"Tony was actually recommended to us by our ex-guitar player and founding member Glen. Many people heeded the call when the word was out that we needed a new skinsman and it was a tough decision to make in the end, but we believe Tony has all the skills to take us to the next level. His power and technique will baffle you all. We'd like to thank everybody who contacted us and made the effort to come down and jam with us. You can catch us live with the new lineup before we hit the big festivals in August at the try-out gigs later this month: July 28th at Nevelfest in Merksem (B) and July 29th at 'De Triangel' in Weert (NL)."
The Auburn System Recording New Album
The Auburn System is currently in the studio with Ken Susi (of Unearth) recording material for their new album. Here's an update from the band:
"Like just about every new band when talking about their new stuff, I can tell you that it's definitely some of the best stuff we've ever written, it's much more focused, but still chaotic and brutal. We can't wait to get it out to the masses!
We have finished tracking drums, guitars, and half of the vocals right now. Bass and the rest of the vocals are going to be following in a matter of hours.
We are having a great time in the studio, and Ken is seriously busting his ass to make us sound the best we can. He's hard as hell on us, and we wouldn't want it any other way."
Aborym Parts With Guitarist
Italian/Norwegian industrial black metal band ABORYM has parted ways with guitarist Nysrok Infernalien.
"We wish Nysrok the very best in all aspects of his life," mainman Malfeitor Fabban said in a statement, "but both me and Bård Faust [a.k.a. Bård G. Eithun; drums] would really like to write and compose new material without him, due of many personal and private problems regarding him and his approach to our way of working, living and thinking, problems we don't like to share with people and journalists. Nowadays we're working hard on new material in order to record a new album in 2008. New fresh meat will be involved in the band."
Added Faust: "Both Fabban and I are eager on starting on the next album and I am pretty sure the Italian mastermind is coming up with some superb and twisted music as always."
ABORYM's last CD, "Generator", came out in February 2006 via Season of Mist.
