Testament Recruits Former Slayer Drummer

Lombardo is also the drummer of fellow Californian legends Suicidal Tendencies and is expected to continue his role in the band.

Frontman Chuck Billy declares "I’ll state the obvious, We are more than overwhelmed to welcome back Dave Lombardo to play drums with Testament. We are so excited to share the stage again with Lombardo. Dave added immense power when he joined the band for The Gathering (release), and we are ecstatic to see what new flavor he will bring back to Testament."

Dave Lombardo stated, "This is a long-awaited reunion that was bound to happen. Once upon a time, we created a thrash masterpiece. I have no doubt that our musical chemistry will pick up exactly where we left off. I love the Testament family and am very excited to be joining them once again. Pure brutality awaits."

Guitarist Eric Peterson expresses, "Having Dave Lombardo join us again feels like we are picking up where unfinished business had left off. There is a silver lining to every cloud and working again with Dave calls for us to celebrate with our horns held high expresses, Having Dave Lombardo join us again feels like we are picking up where unfinished business had left off. "Testament is one of my all-time favorite bands, so to be able to amplify the news of their newest member, Dave Lombardo, and fire up the metal community is an honor bestowed upon me by the metal Gods!" says Jose Mangin of SiriusXM Liquid Metal.

Dave Lombardo has been very busy since parting ways with Slayer in 2013 following a pay dispute. He initially returned one of his previous projects Philm, before retiring the band in early 2016, shortly after he launched Dead Cross with Faith No More vocalist Mike Patton, whom he previously worked with in Fantomas. In 2016, he joined crossover thrash icons Suicidal Tendencies, as well as horror punk legends Misfits and still plays with both to this day. In 2019, Lombardo again joined forces with Mike Patton, when he was confirmed as the new drummer of Mr. Bungle and performed on their latest album, "The Raging Wrath Pf The Easter Bunny Demo."

Ministry Releases New Video With Jello Biafra

One of the most incendiary and popular tracks on Ministry’s latest album "Moral Hygiene" is undoubtedly "Sabotage Is Sex," the blistering collaboration between the one-and-only Al Jourgensen and his oft-collaborator Jello Biafra, of course the great mind behind the Dead Kennedys. The two famously kickstarted their side project LARD in the late ‘80s, a fusion of industrial and punk, and this latest collaboration may be a hint of things yet to come.

While "Sabotage Is Sex" has been pleasing ears since Moral Hygiene was released on October 1st via Nuclear Blast Records, fans now have even more to feast on with the powerhouse new video – featuring both music icons and marking the first time Biafra has ever appeared in a music video.

Created by director Joel Smith of Mad Minute Productions (previous work includes Activision, Audi, Black Eyed Peas, U2, X Games), the gritty, black-and-white video makes a number of bold statements as only Jourgensen and Biafra can about the state of society in 2022, focusing on the corruption of the powers that be, racial injustice and the infringement on the rights of Americans. Drudkh Unveils New Music Video

Due to the current situation in Ukraine, Drudkh is facing a dire financial situation as there is currently no way for them to work or make a living. In order to help them and their families survive, Season of Mist is donating 100% of the profits to the band.

The video was originally not slated for release until later this year, along with a new record from the band. However, due to the increasingly dangerous situation in their homeland, being situated in the epicentre of the invasion, the band has requested that the video be released immediately as sign of Ukranian resistance.

Drudkh has always shown unwavering pride for their country through their music. This poignant statement is a testament to their fighting spirit and love for their homeland. The new record and its details will be revealed in time. Due to vinyl plant delays, the album release is delayed until late 2022.

Season of Mist has been in contact with Drudkh over the phone today. They stated the following:

Venus Principle To Release Debut Album In May

Venus Principle are now premiering the video clip "Rebel Drones" as the first single taken from the dark psychedelic rockers' debut full-length "Stand in Your Light," which has been slated for release on May 27. You can check out the video below.

"Releasing a debut album is the pinnacle moment for any new band and even more so with the added obstacle of recording that album during a pandemic across two countries", writes singer and pianist Daisy Chapman. "After months of work behind closed doors, its first public airing is both exciting and tense – everything has to be right. We are stoked to finally release our first single. 'Rebel Drones' was among the first songs written and we think it represents the whole album particularly well. This project was conceived remotely, but the music on 'Stand in Your Light' transcends borders and represents Venus Principle as one entity of experienced musicians and friends. We can hardly wait for all the world to finally hear our creation." More...

Dark Funeral Pulls Out Of Incineration Fest

Swedish black metal veterans Dark Funeral has announced that they will no longer be appearing at this year's version of Incineration Fest, which is set to take place in London on May 7th. This is in regards to a dispute with the show's promoter, with accounts varying on what happened. The original post from Dark Funeral reads thusly:

"We are deeply disappointed to have to announce that we have reached a situation with the organizer of the Incineration Festival that makes it completely impossible for us to attend. This means that our show on May 7 in London is canceled! We were really looking forward to performing for you but that doesn’t mean that we accept whatever nonsense that comes our way or tolerate contract breaches.

"To make things very clear. The organizer is solely responsible for this and this is not something that we take lightly.

"We apologize to the people who were waiting for us (we are equally disappointed) and we are looking forward to meeting the great people of England at Bloodstock Festival later this year!
A great festival that honour their agreements and treats their artists with respect!"

However, the promoter of the show responded to this statement on the show's Facebook events page, stating: More...

Draconian Cancels Russian Tour Dates

Swedish doom metal veterans Draconian has announced that they have decided to cancel their planned shows in Russia, which were set to take place this November. A statement from the band reads as follows:

"As our hearts go out in solidarity to the people of Ukraine in these troubling times we have decided to cancel our November dates in Russia until further notice.

"Please, note this is not a boycott against Russia as such. We're well aware of the fact Russia’s atrocious military actions against Ukraine does not reflect on our fan-base and our partners, or the Russian people as a whole. Yet, taking into account the particulars and the overall uncertainty of the situation, this appears the best option as we move forward until things have deescalated.

"We’ll always stand against war, oppression and authoritarianism. We stand with Ukraine and its people.

"Stay safe out there, brothers and sisters"

The Dark Side Of The Moon Shares Enya Cover

The Dark Side Of The Moon, consisting of members of Feuerschwanz, Amaranthe and Ad Infinitum, have released the second single and music video since their formation – their version of Enya’s The Lord Of The Rings – The Fellowship Of The Ring theme, "May It Be". The original song is the soundtrack to one of the darkest storylines of the whole saga, spreading hope when there seems to be none left.

The Dark Side Of The Moon is accompanied by Charlotte Wessels on the song and video. The haunting duet passages of Melissa Bonny and the exceptional Dutch singer let the song shine in a completely new way. Energetic drumming and a great guitar solo add new highlights to the song that, already with the second song of their career, showcases the versatility and talent of this newly founded band.

The Dark Side Of The Moon on "May It Be":
"Today we are proud to present our second song! On our musical quest through the mystic worlds of fantasy movies and games, we take you on a journey through Middle Earth, to the Undying Lands!! In honor of Tolkien’s unmatched epic tale, the 20 year anniversary of the movies and the upcoming series, we present you our version of “May It Be” - a version that you never would have expected - that’s a promise! And on top of that, we are beyond proud to have a very special guest in this song, the amazing Charlotte Wessels, who is riding with us to take this song to the next level!" More...

Imperial Age Experiencing Visa Issues For UK Tour

Russian symphonic metal band Imperial Age has announced that their scheduled four date tour of the United Kingdom, which is scheduled to take place this week, is currently under threat due to issues regarding their visa and passports. A statement from the band reads as follows:

"Since the government of Russia is waging a full-scale war against Ukraine - something that we along with most of the civilized world are shocked by, find totally unacceptable, unjustifiable and altogether impossible to comprehend - we are having issues with travelling to the UK (along with many other problems - but we wont mention those since its nothing compared to what our brothers and sisters in Ukraine are going through).

"However, we were not born yesterday, we are well adapted to living in an environment where nothing works, and we know what to do. We also have great support from our fans.

"The question is not IF the shows will happen, but WHEN.

"THE SITUATION

"Visas
"We applied for visas on 26th Jan 2022. The standard waiting time is 15 working days. All visa decisions have been made on Monday, 21 February of which we have a letter from UKVI. At the same time the waiting time has been increased to 6 weeks. However, so far only Paul has received his passport back (on Wednesday 23 Feb). The visa was succesfully issued - from 26 Feb to 26 March 2022.

"This means that Anna, Max and Belf do not have passports, while Aor and Jane have passports but do not have UK visas in them yet (they opted for the “Keep your passport” option when applying in order to be able to travel while the UK visas are being considered).

"So when the passports come back, we need an additional day for the visa to be glued into Aor and Jane‘s passports - after which we can fly. More...
