Dogma Signs With MNRK Heavy
Mysterious melodic metal cult, Dogma, have joined the MNRK Heavy roster, and unveiled a blasphemously compelling new video for the track "Father I Have Sinned." You can watch the video below.
Shrouded in mystery, draped in black cloaks and corpse paint, this dark force known as Dogma has risen. The four enigmatic nuns behind the hook-heavy, classic, power-inspired melodic metal use their music to propagate a powerfully anti-dogmatic idea of free thought.
Their debut single, "Father I Have Sinned," serves as the group’s official introduction to the world. The track’s stadium-ready riffs and anthemic choruses are in stark contrast to the group’s unearthly, gothic appearance. Is Dogma a cult? A sect? Whatever they may be, they are here to take over.
"We are united but free," notes the collective. "We want to detach people from dogmas and useless norms, which only anchor the life of each one instead of giving freedom. We do not preach anarchism, we preach true liberation. Nuns follow a god. They live without enjoyment and claim to abstain from sexual encounters. We subvert the iconography of nuns because they represent the exact opposite of what we preach. They are not free. Like many characters in the human race, they deprive themselves of the richness of a full life." More...

Unearthing the Metal Underground: Morbid Cruelty
Raw, primitive dark metal has been exploding in South America since the early days of Pentagram, Sepultura, Sarcofago and Mortem. Chile’s Morbid Cruelty is a newer act that’s comprised of two members who have been active with bands like Atomic Aggressor, Evil Madness, Perversor and Valefar. The unit initially banded together in 2018, releasing a desirably unrefined cassette demo a year later. They digitally released their debut album, “Holodomor,” last August; and now the renowned German extreme metal label is poised to properly shine a light upon the spirited duo by releasing a vinyl version of said debut on April 8. Crown Of Madness Releases New Single
Crown of Madness, from Vancouver, Canada, started in the midst of the pandemic, with the intention of bringing something new and beautiful to the dark and dissonant sounds of death metal. They are gearing up to release their debut EP this year and the second single they have out to whet the auditory palates of listeners is “False God’s Hymn”.
The single is about how humanity can destroy entire planets and although we are aware of this fact, we continue to do the things that will destroy us all. This can also be interpreted in a personal way, where we as individuals continue to do things we know are bad for us. The band explains further:
“False God’s Hymn was the first song we wrote for Crown of Madness and remains to be our most refined piece. It has a solid structure, where each part flows into the other smoothly, and each section is memorable. This song has all the elements we wanted to encapsulate in our overall sound; such as brutality, beauty, and sad emotions. The lyrics reflect humanity’s societal decision to continue to destroy ourselves and the planet even though we each possess the knowledge to save us all.”
For Crown of Madness, musical and lyrical inspiration comes from their love of fantasy RPGs, drawing heavy inspiration from Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and World of Warcraft. Their dissonant guitar chord-heavy riffs usually inspire a melancholy approach to the lyrics presented with simply placed vocals that are also catchy.
“The Void” is being released on March 25, 2022. More...
Fortis Ventus Unveils Debut Album Details
Rockshots Records is proud to announce their signing of Greek trio Fortis Ventus for the release of their debut album "Vertalia" on June 3, 2022.
Combining symphonic and cinematic elements along with soundtrack influences, Fortis Ventus formed in 2015 and self-released their first ep "Haunted Heart" in November 2017.
In early 2018, due to creative differences, the band underwent significant changes. The driving forces that remained were composer, arranger, keyboardist George Halliwell and vocalist, lyricist Nancy Mos. Breathing new life into their work, the duo met Gregory Koilakos who would take on the role of guitarist. Together, the three musicians started recording their first full-length "Vertalia" with Gregory taking on both guitar and bass duties for the album, which also changed the band's metal sound with its film score music elements.
Sentimental, dramatic, grand, cinematic, and imaginative, "Vertalia" is a concept album based on a novel-fairytale written by keyboardist George Halliwell.
"Twelve chapters for a total of twelve tracks". says, Halliwell. More...

Guitarist Mathieu Vandekerckhove comments: "The blueprints of most AIB songs were made when I was on tour with Amenra. Because of the long journeys, I had a lot of free time on the bus. Different landscapes every day. The emptiness of the mountains, the desolate empty cities at night… At one day, when recording the album, I had too much negative news and havoc on my socials shoved into my face. And the riff to this song was an instinctive reaction to that. I fought it off. This song is definitely a reflection of that moment, that day." More...
Aviana Reveals New Album Details
Swedish alternative metal act Aviana have released a video for new single "Transcendent" and announced the release of new album "Corporation," out 3rd August via Arising Empire. You can watch the video below.
Frontman and bandleader Joel Holmqvist commented "The new single 'Transcendent' is a little bit different compared to the other songs we've released so far. It has some extended clean vocals in it and was really fun to write. I hope people will enjoy it and the fact that we are trying out some different style of songs, while trying to stick to the Aviana sound, which is something you can expect from the whole album."
On the album, he continues: "There is an album coming in August, finally. But I never wanted to have people sit around and wait for new Aviana music. Instead I've been working continuously to try and get new stuff out there for the fans. You should consider this album more of an "Collection of Singles" rather than something else. There will be new songs on the album which haven't been released yet, but also songs that we've already put out since 2021 will be on the album."
