Misery Index Releases "Rites Of Cruelty" Video
Baltimore death metal savants Misery Index continue to promote their latest album Complete Control, which was released worldwide via Century Media Records earlier this year, by launching a new video for the song "Rites Of Cruelty," streaming now. Created by Chris Joao / Iron Elephant Studio, watch the video below.
On the new single, Misery Index bassist/vocalist Jason Netherton states:
"This video is a sincere shout-out to all the Misery Index fans who made the effort to come and rage with us this past summer on the various Complete Control tours - from festival stages to dive bars, we've hit them all, and this video is a tribute to the good times of summer past as we enter the darker months of autumn. We chose the track 'Rites of Cruelty' as we feel it embodies all the pissed-off energy of our new album in one bombastic faceripper, from blast beats to tank-like breakdowns, it's become a staple of our live set, and we hope you all dig it as well." Green Lung Signs With Nuclear Blast
Rising psych-occultists GREEN LUNG have announced their signing to Nuclear Blast Records. The band's rich blend of proto-metal and doom laden hard rock, steeped in distinctly British folklore has proven a monumental hit across their debut EP "Free The Witch" and two critically acclaimed albums "Woodland Rites" (2019) and "Black Harvest" (2021).
Vocalist, Tom Templar comments on the signing:
"We're incredibly excited to partner with the team at Nuclear Blast to usher in the next era of Green Lung. Over the past five years we've gone from playing DIY basement shows and selling our music on home-taped cassettes to playing international festivals and working with the world's biggest metal label, and that's entirely down to the support and enthusiasm of our endearingly cult-like fanbase. We can't thank you all enough for your faith and support in getting us to this point, and rest assured we're only just getting started. We've spent the past few months hoping to repay the debt by writing our most ambitious album yet, and look forward to getting back into the studio to record it. But before then, we'll be embarking on our biggest tour to date, supporting Clutch across the UK and Europe this November and December. Come, join our rites!"
Senior A&R, Nathan Barley Phillips states:
"I was lucky enough to catch Green Lung play at London's infamous Black Heart venue right before the covid lockdown kicked in during early 2020... I then spent two long years desperately waiting for another opportunity, thanking the blesséd wheat-weaving gods when Desertfest rolled around again in early 2022 and the stars of the goatwizard finally aligned.
"This band has riffs for days and I am so proud and excited to welcome them to Nuclear Blast. A special thanks to AMF Music Publishing for helping to make this happen - I can't wait to see what we can all achieve together!"

1914 Has Instagram Page Deleted
Ukrainian death/doom band 1914 has had their Instagram page deleted by Meta, following their posts about the current conflict in their homeland as well as the first world war. A rough translation of a statement from vocalist Dmytro Kumar reads as follows:
"OK guys this is the question. *Character of extremely light behavior* Meta deleted 1914 Insta where I actively posted about our war. Thousands of people reacted, writing that our page is their source of true news and general information for them, because their European news doesn't have up to date information. I've been writing for over a month every day in support, joined people who know in these cases, wrote - silence. It seems I'll have to put a dot on Insta. We have FB, but after dozens of bans for content about war, algorithms stupidly dropped it below the baseboard, it is not shown at all, traffic fell to zero, 40k react well if one hundred people, from thousands of likes under the post fell to 50. In a nutshell, a pain in the ass. We need a person who can (for money) take care of the page in a proper manner, remove such bans from it, remove it from the red zone and restore the traffic.
"I make the post public, I will appreciate reposts and tagging the right people."
1914 released their latest album, "Where Fear And Weapons Meet" in October of last year and were scheduled to tour the UK, as well as Europe as part of the Napalm Over Europe tour, but were forced to cancel when Russia invaded Ukraine. More...

August Burns Red Reveals New Album Details
Grammy-nominated five-piece August Burns Red — JB Brubaker [lead guitar], Brent Rambler [rhythm guitar], Matt Greiner [drums], Jake Luhrs [vocals], and Dustin Davidson [bass] — have announced their new album Death Below. It arrives on March 24 via SharpTone Records. Pre-order it here.
"It's no secret that the past few years have been extremely dark and challenging," Brubaker says. "Death Below is here as a result of that time in each our lives and the emotions that came with it. We were motivated by uncertainty, fear, outrage, and triumph. I feel this is the darkest, most personal album we've ever written, and I couldnt be more proud of what the five of us made together."
Today, they shared the video for the first single "Ancestry," featuring Killswitch Engage singer Jesse Leach. You can check it out below.
"'Ancestry' is a complex and technical ABR track held together by perhaps the most painful and personal lyrics Jake has ever written," says Brubaker. "I loved this song in every phase since its inception. From the instrumental rendition, to the lyrics and vocals being added, to finally bringing it all together with Jesse's anthemic guest vocals, 'Ancestry' is a song we've been looking forward to sharing with the world for a long time."
The album features additional guest spots from guitarist Jason Richardson, as well as JT Cavey of Erra and Spencer Chamberlain of Underoath. More...
Scream Maker Unveils New Music Video
Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the signing of Polish heavy metal act Scream Maker, who are currently working on a new studio record for release in 2023. Meanwhile, the label will reissue the group’s latest album, "Bloodking," on 9th December on CD and digital formats.
Formed in Warsaw in late 2010, Scream Maker have released three full-length studio albums to date - "Livin’ In The Past" [2014], "Back Against The World" [2016], "Bloodking" [2022]) - and played 300+ shows in Poland and beyond, including gigs with luminaries such as Judas Priest, Motörhead, Megadeth, Saxon, Slayer, Nightwish, Primal Fear, Stratovarius and Onslaught.
The band recorded their debut album with producer Alessandro del Vecchio (Jorn, Hardline, Revolution Saints) and it featured guest appearances from Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater and Wojciech Hoffmann of Turbo. Their touring schedule to promote it included several festivals in China and they became the first Polish act to have an album released by a domestic record label in that country.
Extensive touring following the release of "Back Against The World" included a third visit to China as well as the third edition of the Ronnie James Dio Memorial that they had founded in 2014 and that has been repeated regularly ever since.
After the global pandemic forced a curtailment of the band's regular touring schedule, they used the time to focus on fine-tuning and recording material for "Bloodking," which was released in January 2022 and received a thumbs up from fans and critics alike. And, once touring was back on the agenda, they returned to the stage on a tour that included their own festival in Warsaw and the latest edition of the Ronnie James More...
Twilight Force To Release New Album In January
Hear ye, all mortals of the Twilight Kingdoms! Hear ye!
Over the past few years, Swedish adventure metallers Twilight Force have been crafting their new opus "At the Heart Of Wintervale," which will be released on January 20th via Nuclear Blast. Three years after the release of the last album "Dawn Of The Dragonstar," it is time to tell new stories and continue the incredible epos of Twilight Force.
Twilight Force comments:
"After what feels like aeons, we can finally proudly unveil the details of our fourth opus: At the Heart of Wintervale. At the Heart of Wintervale is set to be unleashed on January 20th. While the dwarven forges are busy assembling the physical manifestations of the album, we can all use some time to brush up on old incantations, polish dusty daggers, and re-stir murky potions - for this glorious quest will be upon us before we know it, and for that we must be prepared! The breathtaking and dramatic cover artwork is once again created by the brilliantly skilled Kerem Beyit. It depicts the tale told in the title track of the album - where an evil curse is broken, and an ancient dragon may finally roam the realms again, free and unfettered!"
"At The Heart Of Wintervale" will consist of 8 captivating tales from far and wide, and will have a running time of approximately 45 minutes. The songs are all stories and legends from the Twilight Kingdoms, gathered over years of meticulous research, and will further explore and delve into the vast and magical world of its realms.
"At The Heart Of Wintervale" will be released on CD, Digibook, and Vinyl. The limited Digibook edition will also include three bonus tracks. The first one is a song which many of Twilight Force's loyal knights may somewhat recognize; it is an acoustic blend of some of the older works, featuring an entrancing vocal performance and guitar work by Twilight Force's very own wood elf Aerendir. The second and third bonus tracks are orchestral versions of two songs from the album, where fans will have the opportunity to experience a different soundscape, and perhaps discover new exciting elements and intricacies never discerned before.
