Finntroll Posts New Animated Video Online
Finnish troll horde, Finntroll, have unleashed the second single from their seventh studio album - the first in long seven years. Vredesvävd will be out on September 18 and the title translates to "Wrath-woven," which aptly implies what the vigorous, unapologetic and ill-spirited record is all about.
Recorded and mixed at the renowned Sonic Pump Studios, mastered at Chartmakers and produced by keyboardist-composer Henri "Trollhorn" Sorvali with vocalist Mathias "Vreth" Lillmåns acting as his right hand, "Vredesvävd" presents the pointy-eared gang of misfits at their finest.
An animated video for "Forsen", created by Animaatiokopla, can be seen below.
The band comments: "The shaman's journey into the other, is portrayed in myriads of ancient art. Often symbolized by a stream that flows into the earth. Riding the rapids one can unravel mysteries, deep within the layers of consciousness. There one can find oneself, if one dares to search deep enough." More...

Ingested Frontman Discusses New Album
It's a brutal time across the world right now and to paraphrase an old saying: Brutal conditions require brutal solutions. In seven days time (August 14th,) one of Britain's premier death metal bands Ingested will be unleashing their latest burnt offering, "Where Only Gods May Tread" through Unique Leader Records. The fifth full length from the Mancunian metallers has already got people talking with its visceral singles and eye catching artwork and the end result promises to be every bit as devastating as Ingested's previous outings.
This week, I had the pleasure of speaking with Ingested vocalist Jase Evans about the album, working with renowned artist Dan Seagrave, how Crowbar frontman Kirk Windstein came to appear on the record and how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the band. You can watch the interview in full below. More...

Heathen comments, "We are very proud to announce the second single, title track from our new album Empire of the Blind! This song refers to the ongoing manipulation of people through political and social propaganda in the mass media. Behold the rising empire!"

The Hirsch Effekt Releases New Music Video
The Hirsch Effekt has today released a new music video for the song, "Deklaration." You can check it out below. The song comes from the band's latest album, "Kollaps," which is out now through Long Branch Records.
The band comment: ""Many of the riffs in 'Dekalration' were written by Moritz. Funnily, all three members in the band have different opinions on how hard it's to master the playability of the song. The rhythmic pattern for the Meshuggah-esque part that can be heard shortly before the second chorus already existed already way back when writing Eskapist. It never made it on the album though. The lyrics were written partially in April of last year but only finished much later due to creative interruptions. Some of the lyrics had to be reformed and rewritten because of complications that came along with the usage of quotes and the rightful way of dealing with the subject."
The trio’s fifth album Kollaps encounters everyday madness with elaborate counterpoints and ludicrous lyric lines. Following the release of last album "Eskapist" (2017), which charted #21 on the German album charts, and formidable shows at Wacken Open Air, Full Force Festival and as recent headliners at the renowned Euroblast Festival, The Hirsch Effekt have now spawned their new ogre. Keiser Signs With Non Serviam Records
Norwegian black metal band Keiser has confirmed that they have a signed a new record deal with Non Serviam Records. After three years of waiting, the new album will be released in the upcoming months.
The band states: "We are stoked and proud to be signed by Non Serviam Records. We are pleased to release our upcoming album with them, and we are certain that this will be a big step forward for our band. For us, this shows that hard work and believing in what you do, pays off. A big thank you to Ricardo, NSR and our friends and label mates Nexorum."
Ricardo Gelok from Non Serviam Records adds: "I'm really happy that Keiser signed to Non Serviam Records.
"When I heard their music for the first time, I was blown away with the impact of the music and the good production. An excellent mix of black metal, and melodic guitars. It reminds me of bands like Vreid, Keep of Kalessin etc."
Formed in 2015, Keiser return with a new album after the 2016 EP "Ascension of Ghouls," with a still raw and primitive sounding, and their full-length debut album "The Succubus" in 2017 which saw the band begin to tour and create a small but loyal fan base in their home country.
Lutharö Posts New Music Video Online
Canada's Lutharö unleashed their sophomore EP "Wings of Agony" this past March. More innovative and imaginative than their debut EP "Unleash The Beast", Lutharö stepped out of their comfort zone for "Wings of Agony." Their catchy riffs, blazing solos, and vocals ranging from vicious growls to cleans are sure to send a chill down your spine, making them a well-rounded powerhouse of a band that brings beauty, aggression, and skill to the genre.
Today, the band is ready to share their latest music video for fan favourite "Blood Lightning."
The band explains the video and track:
"The song 'Blood Lightning' is about having such an extreme passion for something so much so that it sets your soul on fire, for better or for worse. It is the endless struggle of putting your blood, sweat, and tears into something and receiving next to nothing in return. However, when you do catch a glimpse of your progress, it is enough to keep pushing forward even when you are constantly being beaten down and put to war. The music video for 'Blood Lightning' showcases all of the physical, emotional, financial, etc. Hard work that is put into pursuing your dreams in music. The shots taken to look like the set of a video shoot are meant to resemble the business aspect/ behind the scenes work of being a musician, but also the high of performing live and seeing your visions come to life. While the single shots of each member in the middle of a storm are meant to display the emotional sacrifices and hardships that each individual goes through." More...
WoR Streaming Debut Album
WoR, groove metal hailing from Raleigh, USA, has today released their debut full length album, "Prisoners." To celebrate, the band are streaming the entire album, exclusively at Outburn Magazine, which you can listen to by clicking here
WoR has been working on this first offering over the course of the last few years, in which they have seen all the members of the band improving drastically at their respective instruments and songwriting capabilities. Their experience of togetherness on every artistic level has allowed them to write technically and musically more complex new material. The band share’s their thoughts on today's album preview:
"We are so incredibly excited for the upcoming release of our debut album 'Prisoners.' This album has been in the works for several years and we finally get to show you what we have been working on nonstop for the last year. From front to back, this album is meant to take you on a heavy metal journey. It features groovy tracks such as 'Predator,' brutal songs such as 'Caged,' and melodic anthems such as 'VI Kings.' While the songs are groovy and meant to give your neck whiplash, the lyrics are deep and thought out. The messages behind these songs are ones of resilience and overcoming. If you enjoy heavy riffs, melodic overtones, and just straight-up angry and in your face metal, this album is for you!"
Pestilence Begins Recording New Album
Legendary Dutch death metallers Pestilence have commenced recording their ninth studio album titled Exitivm, tentatively slated for release later this year on Agonia Records.
Pestilence have kicked off 2020 with plans to both accelerate work on their ninth album and reconnect with fans on the road, yet the unforeseen virus outbreak made them postpone most of their goals. First their North American tour with Possessed got cancelled (and is currently on-hold until better times arrive) and later drummer Septimiu Harsan quit the band due to pandemic-related matters. Fortunately, the last month has finally seen things take a turn for the better. Together with new drummer Michiel van der Plicht (also known for being the live drummer for Carach Angren) as well as new bass player Joost van der Graaf (Creep Mime, I Chaos and Dew Scented), Pestilence raises its head again, having completed drum recordings, and being well in the process of recording guitars.
Pestilence's main composer Patrick Mameli is known to constantly reinvent his musical self and it's no different in the case of Exitivm. The album is set to explore new musical soundscapes, with emphasis on sick and twisted riffs, heaviness and brutal grooves. He had this to say on the progress they made so far: "Pestilence is very pleased how the ten new compositions are developing and taking shape. Not even in my wildest dreams I could have ever imagined this monster taking shape like it is doing right now. I think it has something to do with this line-up and sound engineer too. Not only are the new guys: Rutger (lead guitars), Joost van der Graaf (bass guitars) and Michiel van der Plicht (drums) extremely talented but they fit the Pestilence style. They fill in their parts on a high professional level."
"My guitar sound for this new album Exitivm is more brutal and heavy than on previous albums so that it crushes the skull and pierces right through the soul. The collaboration with studio engineer Jory Hogeveen at Pitchnote Productions, has been very relaxed since he is a musician himself (guitar player for Shinigami), so we speak the same musical language. So far we finished recording drums, guitars, bass and some leads. It already sounds devastating! Up next are vocals and the rest of the leads. Then we add some intros and soundscapes to further take the whole concept to a much darker place because the lyrical concept is about mental illness and inner and outer entities aka demons."

Benediction Reveals New Album Details
Benediction are without a doubt one of the few remaining originals in the death metal scene and have achieved legendary status through their output over the years. Still, today, they love what they do and always do their job without compromise - both on record and on stage. After more than 30 years in the business and 12 years since their last album "Killing Music," Benediction are now back with one of their best releases yet as they retain their seat in the pantheon of death metal. The first single/video "Rabid Carnality" can be streamed everywhere from today and alongside it is the kick-off for the presale of the new album "Scriptures" (produced by Scott Atkins at Grindstone Studio in England). It will be released digitally, on CD and in various vinyl formats on October 16th.
The new album "Scriptures" sounds 100% like Benediction: they blend death metal with a "fuck-off punk rock attitude", heavy metal riffing and a groove that hardly any other band can capture. Dave Ingram's signature growl and powerful lyrics enhance the tonal framework that makes their sound so distinctly Benediction. As usual the tracks vary from slow and heavy to fast and intense, from shorter, in your face rippers to crushing monoliths.
The artwork fits perfectly to Benediction and awakens and will resonate with any devoted Old School Death Metal fan. It was created by Birmingham artist Simon Harris and is reminiscent of the iconic artwork of their early output. There's no doubt that it will fit in perfectly to every vinyl collection next to "Subconscious Terror," "The Grand Leveler" or "Transcend The Rubicon."
All in all, "Scriptures" is an album of bare bones death metal, where everything is just as it should be. A jewel in the catalogue of a band that has been present from the very beginning and, in line with one of their most classic songs "We Bow To None," has always remained true to themselves and their fans.
