Nuclear Signs With Black Lodge Records

Black Lodge Records is pleased to announce the signing of Chilean thrashers Nuclear. The 5-piece just finished the mastering process of their brand new delivery called "Murder Of Crows" which follows on the heels of their successful 2015 release “Formula For Anarchy”.

Nuclear‘s signing also puts an end to a five year long silence in the band‘s discography and comes right after an extensive EU/UK winter tour alongside Abbath, 1349 and Vltimas which ended precisely in Stockholm, Sweden, city where the label is based.

Francisco Haussmann, guitar player comments on the signing: “It is a pleasure to start this association with Black Lodge Records. I have been looking for years to work closely with a label that understands the band‘s needs both artistically and logistically. I met Johan [Haller] in Stockholm and I am positive that Black Lodge will deliver. I am really happy with this”.

Matias Leonicio, vocalist added: “We are really happy and enthusiastic to be part of Black Lodge Records‘ roster. Without a doubt working together will bring a lot of support to our upcoming albums. We just can advance that this new album is going to be a very powerful discharge of South American metal”.

Formed in 2003, the Chilean quintet trafficked in the usual thrash metal fare in its first years, later becoming a rare earth explosive compound that it‘s known for today. The latest Nuclear album earned the band some of the best critical notices of their career and was acclaimed for its raw and uncompromising brutality.

"Murder Of Crows" will see the light during the second half of 2020 More...

Wytch Hazel To Release New Album In October

Lancashire’s soaring hard rock sect, Wytch Hazel, will release its shimmering new album, "Wytch Hazel III: Pentecost," on October 30 via independent underground label Bad Omen Records (Satan's Satyrs, Spell). Recorded by ex-Purson multi-instrumentalist Ed Turner, the quadruple-tracked record imbues a rich, anthemic late night drivetime vibe, passionately embracing the most high-end, smash-hit classic rock and heavy metal circa its late 1970's heyday. "Wytch Hazel III: Pentecost" succeeds the band's 2018 sophomore release, "II: Sojourn," and 2016 debut, "Prelude," glorified by Under the Radar as "an invocation of rock and roll at its purest and, more specifically, of all that made the New Wave of British Heavy Metal in the late '70s so special."

A first offering of what "Wytch Hazel III: Pentecost," holds in promise can be experienced now as the band debuts the new song "I Am Redeemed."

Within moments of pressing play on "III: Pentecost," there are gorgeous self-professed touches of Black Sabbath, Blue Öyster Cult, AC/DC and early Scorpions. "With the soloing I was trying to go for Michael Schenker," beams vocalist/guitarist Colin Hendra shyly. As a child, Hendra, the band's founding member and guiding light, played drums in brass bands and orchestras, studied classical piano and sang in the school chamber choir, but at 16 the direction of his life changed forever, after a revelation we can all relate to: "Iron Maiden was the main reason I started playing electric guitar," he reveals. "I remember borrowing 'The Number Of The Beast' off a friend and was just blown away – heavy metal was an obsession from that point on!" More...
